Location: Fort Weyr
Personality: Alaia is something of an under-achiever, but despite that she genuinely wants to do well. It's an awkward contradiction, really. She won't put herself to too much effort to accomplish something, and so she sets herself small, manageable tasks that she can complete with minimal effort. Oddly, this strategy works wonderfully for her and she usually accomplishes everything she sets out to do, as long as she doesn't get too ambitious. She is easy to get along with and a pretty good administrator, not inclined toward micromanagement or neglect. She likes to be kept in the loop and to know what is going on with everyone, but not in a gossipy way. She keeps secrets beautifully, but because she's terrified she'll mess up and give everything away everyone knows she knows something, but she won't tell. Not ever.
History: Born in Igen to a family of nine children, Alaia was fostered out young to an older healer cousin posted in Southern Boll to reduce the strain on her immediate family. She and her cousin got along beautifully and Alaia was hoping to study healercraft under her cousin until she was ready to become an official apprentice at Healer Hall, but she was Searched when she was barely twelve and whisked off to Fort Weyr to try her luck on the sands.
A turn later Alaia did Impress and she and Opreth entered training. They were unremarkable, but even so they were showered with praise for everything they did because they were the first gold pair born to the Weyr in more than a decade and the Senior Weyrwoman was beginning to fear she had waited too long to retire. When Opreth reached adulthood Alaia was still much too young to lead the Weyr, and so the pair remained junior queens for many turns. In fact, the Senior Weyrwoman remained in her position longer than anyone expected her to, realizing belatedly that perhaps all that false assurance that had been heaped on Alaia and Opreth early in their training had made them unprepared to lead.
Alaia has been the Senior Weyrwoman at Fort for the past four turns and she has been a steady, stable leader, despite her predecessor's fears. When Horvath flew Opreth two turns past she was very surprised, and she was even more surprised to learn that L'ki was the rider of that impressively manly bronze. She is, in truth, a little disappointed by her second Weyrleader, and hopes that some other bronze will fly Opreth the next time she rises.
Appearance: Alaia looks like old-blood Igen. Her skin is very dark and her hair is thick and black and grows in tight curls close to her skull. She keeps it cut short because if it's allowed to grow long it makes it seem as though her head has blown up like a balloon. Her eyes are also very dark. She has a quick and ready smile and is already beginning to develop laugh lines. She is not very tall, but she is not exceptionally short, and she is beginning to pack on some poundage around her belly, hips, and thighs. She already had junk in her trunk. She does not much enjoy exercising and feels that if anyone has a problem with her badonkadonk, they are fools.

Opreth

Location: Fort Weyr
Personality: Opreth is a lazy queen. She was petted and spoiled from the moment she was born, and whatever she might've been like upon hatching has grown into a fairly self-entitled and inactive adult who has learned that she will garner attention and praise for the least little thing she does. When she is not praised and she thinks she should have been, she pouts and sulks. At least until Alaia steps in and tells her to quit being a baby. She does most things competently enough, but not as well as she thinks she does. Still, as long as she is given her due she is a reasonable and pleasant dragon who doesn't expect more from others than she does from herself. Keep in mind though, she doesn't expect much from herself either.
Appearance: Like her rider, dark and pudgy.
