The image of the Manor still shimmered in Nyomi's vision. A quick search of the place had turned up nothing but those hoof prints in the dust she was becoming all too familiar with. She still couldn't find the culprit who kept sneaking into the shrine. There was no sign of him at the destroyed version in the waking world. Somehow, he kept finding the Manor of Sleep. It made her comfortable to think about it. That a strange stallion had knowledge of her mother without her knowing it. Was he just using her for the Manor? What was his purpose in there, anyway? Could there be a chance he was the one who would lift the curse? She wasn't so confident about that guess. From following his tracks, he didn't seem to be focused on going further into the shrine to find the source of the evil. Most of his tracks were around her family's living quarters. Where her mother usually hid. Nyomi could only guess from this that he was interested only in her mother. Made sense to her. Kyouka had a beauty unrivaled by most that was only enhanced when she was cowering somewhere. Like a damsel who needed rescuing from the terrible beast that had captured her. Not too far from the truth.

The thought of someone being near her mother without her knowledge enraged her. What was he doing with her? If he was trying to save her, he was doing a poor job of it.

Nyomi came fully awake, getting to her feet to shake out the plants from her long hair. She flicked her tail, which didn't do much good as most of it still dragged on the ground anyway. She debated cutting it, but never seemed to got around to it. It seemed a shame. She was gifted with such long hair while others didn't.

Once she was come to, she raised her head to the sky and opened her mouth. "I know you're out there somewhere! Show yourself and stop hiding!" He had been in the Manor recently. Maybe he was still in the area.

Where was her mother?

Lycaon was intrigued by this place this strange place filled with ghosts and a few starborn that seemed to tend to the place it was as strange thing indeed he had snuck in as a wolf from time to time the ghosts seemed to pay him no mind as a creature of the wood, perhaps this curse of his could be useful after all. A low growl emitted from his throat, it was all Zeus's fault for his current predicament he'd murdered his sons and transformed a great king into a lowly animal. No he would destroy him with the very power he'd been given and other powers he would bring into his 'new' family he would regain everything that was taken from him.

He'd passed a strange white mare from time to time eventually he'd spoken to her in his wolf form to gather some information about this place most of it didn't make sense it seemed so illogical until he'd seen the blue tattooed starborn and some of the ghosts tending to her restlessness... She could kill with a single touch his wolfish face curled into a smile as he thought about that power he wondered if it applied to gods, no matter their curse would become his power.

The wolf had again come to see the white mare, though he'd still snuck in as a wolf he appeared to her as a stallion, she was cursed just like the other perhaps she seemed very forthcoming about producing female Heirs, though this lovely mare had a daughter, perhaps that might be a little more 'fun.' the Werewolf mused. He bade the white mare goodbye and fled back to the woods as a wolf.

The mares child called, amusingly for him, a ominous howl became his reply as he returned to the manor, he shifted back into his stallion form in the shadows emerging in front of the orange mare piercing yellow eyes being the first thing she'd see.

"You called young child,"

Nyomi's ears caught the howl, but she made no move to rush back to the shrine as any good prey would do. She had faced ghosts nearly every day of her life ever since she was born. Little in this world scared her. And if it did, she hadn't yet found it. So her head was naturally facing the direction the stallion emerged. The stunt did nothing save to annoy her afresh. She rounded on him, head held high and one eyelid cocked upwards. The first place she looked was downward, his cockiness suggesting he was familiar with this place. To her further annoyance, no split hooves stared back up at her, making this yet another intruder on her family.

Why did they all have to be males?

"You think to scare me?" She humphed, tossing her mane over the other side in a show of self-importance. "I've woken up in the dark with a pale ghost with her head twisted all the way around breathing down on me when I was a foal. You'll have to try harder than that. Now this," and she edged closer, lowering her head and stretching it out towards him, her eyes narrowing in anger, "is not a place for stallions. Begone."

As much as she was aware a small bodied, clearly weak mare was not intimidating, she could not just let a male think he could waltz in here and expect a warm welcome. Or use the Kuzes as his own personal entertainment. They might not be as grant as they were before, but one day they would rise back up. And their influence would soon spread, causing creatures to flock back to them to help with their pain.

"Would be a lie to say it wasn't my intent but would have been a nice bonus little handmaiden is it?" snow crunched under his hooves as he stood a distance away from the mare. She was a pretty little thing, but it seemed from what he'd gathered they were all pretty before their curse, a curse he would find a way to harness upon his enemies, a curse that seemed to follow in the bloodline of the women.

That pretty little mare had an annoying tongue though, that he might enjoy fixing. She seemed so proud to be a little handmaiden, already fearlessly dealing with the horrors behind her. Perhaps he could add a little chaos into her life, like had been done to him...

"You cannot dismiss me so casually, young handmaiden I am a King!" he said stretching his own neck out baring his sharp cursed fangs. What he said was half true, he had been a king, and a great one, one mistake had cost him everything so too would it cost her. he'd yet to try this on another star, so perhaps it might be fun to watch her suffer more, for such an insult. Though very few would economizer him as what he was anymore he would plant the memory right into her and she'd never forget.

He'd had fun too twisting that lyra. Hm but Nyomi was already twisted he could tell somewhere i
nside.

The orange mare merely snorted, clearly not impressed with the honesty. It would have made no difference if he had lied. It still meant he was here and here he shouldn't be.

Pulling her neck back, Nyomi continued to glare, her nearly black eyes narrowed with obvious distrust under those long lashes. "And what is your purpose here, to give us a little scare?" He was not familiar to her, nor was his scent. She couldn't recall ever seeing him near the shrine before, so could only assume he was passing through. Meaning the chance of him just looking for a little amusement was high. She hoped, anyway. There were enough males hanging around the shrine as was. Just one was too much. If the family had any hopes of reclaiming their former glory, they were obviously going to be needing some kind of bodyguards to keep the males away during the times they weren't allowed.

Again, the orange mare snorted. This time in reply to his claim of being a king. Sure, and she was Head of the shrine, a position she doubted she would ever achieve. Her mother was the oldest Kuze and she wasn't suited for the position. Next in rank was Nyomi herself, with Reika being the Priestess, Head wasn't a position she could ever hope to advance to. She was needed to attend to the ridding of the pain of others. How she would go about that now, she wasn't sure. By rights, since she had awoken, she should be stripped of her skin to be used as worship. Nyomi didn't have the heart to allow that to happen.

Reika had not really woken of her own free will, though. A pardon should be spared her. Perhaps she could dedicate her life to the training of future Priestesses.

"I see no King. I see an arrogant stallion wandering into territory he doesn't belong. What, I ask, again, do you want here?"

"Hardly little handmaiden," he grinned, he began to walk toward the mare. Looking at the shrine behind but though most of his attention still fully on Nyomi, he wasn't about to let the snide little mare get the better of him. This was far to fun, and she would pay for that little comment one way or another.

what a spiteful creature, the stallion thought, though he felt anger rise at her comment Lycaon growled "I am a king, I will reclaim my throne." he snarled dangerously for affect. He acted angrier than he was, though it still stung, the truth always did hurt, he wasn't a king anymore but still expected other's to treat him a s such. He'd lost everything because of one challenge he offered the gods how vengeful they were for that not many ever understood how much it tortured the stallion to have lost everything. It was how he got it back that showed his character he wouldn't simply take it lying down like a pup.

There was a great power here, one he wanted, if he could tame it. It seemed the females of this particular family could control that great power, but perhaps then he didn't want to control it, especially if it could consume his enemies unleash it and let it consume them. Oh that would be something, wouldn't it and entire army consumed by just one mare the very thought was delightful. He could save most if not all of the army he was to create.

"What do you think my interest is handmaiden?" he asked her stopping in front of her. "You have quite the terrifying monsters in your mist..."

Despite herself, Nyomi stepped back a little at the approach of the grey stallion. Not out of fear. More out of a distaste of having unknown creatures inside her personal bubble.

"Your throne is not here," the orange mare replied, as if it wasn't already obvious. But she was unsure what else to say. She was exhausted with all these meddling Stars. She was beginning to repeat herself in her attempts to make them see this was not the place for them and that they just wanted to be left alone. Was that too much to ask? The Kuze shrine was a family endeavor. And a family endeavor it would stay, so long as breath still ran through Nyomi's chest. As the ghosts of the Manor would prove, even when breath was gone she would continue to keep the tradition of the shrine intact.

"These are sacred grounds," she tried, again, the edge forming more in her voice. And those monsters weren't monsters. They were her ancestors. Her charges. The poor victims of the curse. Not that she would expect a conceited stallion to care about, so she kept it to herself. The less for him to think he could further use her to get at these "monsters" since she was related to most. "Your interest does not matter to me. Nor concern me. Be on your way."

Oh she was afraid? no that wasn't it this little mare had too much spunk to be afraid especially of him. That wasn't as fun, after all she seemed to be as tough as him when it came to things to fear. The Ghosts around this place seemed so strange, and dangerous he quite enjoyed it they were powerful he had to be able to control that power against his enemies some how.

"I must reclaim what is mine somehow," he smiled wickedly showing sharper than normal starborn teeth as he'd just shifted part of himself to perhaps startle the young mare just for fun though none of his previous attempts had done so well. He couldn't resist trying.

Lycaon gave a solemn nod he did understand that to the residents this place was sacred that much had been explained to him but he still wouldn't stop until he had gotten what he came for "Sacred indeed, I think I will take some of the hallowed ground with me, or hallowed daughters." he grinned looking at the mare

"What do you think little handmaiden?" he asked, unlike most he wanted the powers not just a soft bed for the night, he could care less about that, he wanted everything that came with it to begin a new army and new kingdom.

What did she think? Revulsion was the first word that came to her mind. She was not a true Kuze girl in that respect. She didn't desire to be a broodmare. Her mother would likely have plenty more children in the future to take care of repopulating the shrine. Nyomi didn't need to add her genes into the mix, as well. Besides, she had a duty to perform that didn't include tugging children around by her tail.

So she stepped back once more, her mouth twisted to show her feelings on the subject of a "hallowed daughter."

"I think you have come to the wrong place," she snapped, tossing her head towards the forest on one side of her, her green forelock bouncing on her forehead. "I think you are a tyrant and should leave before I have you chased out." Whether he thought she had an army at her disposal or not, she could muster one of the dead. Just open the gates to allow them to flood out. The female spirits would quickly take care of a male on their land. Oh, yes.

Ooh she was a fun little mare now wasn't she. Thought she was tough eh. "Well I am a tyrant now, i wasn't so back then." In which case it should matter what he did. He had to learn more of this place before trying to take it's guardian. That was quite an ordeal.

She thought he was revolting on top of it all how amusing. And what was she but a cursed child to remain with the ghosts forever alone, must be tough.

"I suppose I can humor you thid once, but sweet handmaiden I will return" and return he would especially for that mother of hers. Lycaon shifted forms then vanished into the thick wood.
