((This is an RP between Bane, Kolina, and myself. Possibly it could change to become an open RP, but we shall see soon enough I guess ^^))

The sun had just arose from the edges of the sands, its warmth bringing redemption for thoes few moments that the cold still bit the winds. For the next hour or so, the sun would brush away all of the freeze before it would change into the tormentor, and sometimes it was the best chance to go out and hunt. Nuri had decided to go out early in the day, looking out into the sands as her paws got used to the change in surface.

Having spent the past few weeks inside resting, she had grown quite a bit of weight as she showed her signs of carrying. However, she knew sooner or later she would have to go seek out the king, because truthfully they still were trespassing on the lands. They needed to become the pride, and she had a feeling it needed to happen before the cubs would come. Letting out a deep sigh soon after, her deep eyes gazed out emotionlessly to the distance, tail swinging as the light caught her void mask.

Kimeti had awoken just before sunrise, as usual. He found this time to be most calming and most relaxing as the sun peaked over the horizon and cast it's warm golden rays upon the desert and slowly raising the temperature to the unberable heat that was encase the land of sand by noon. But, now was a perfect time to enjoy the day.

The sun was just over the horizon and the King enjoyed the warmth it brought to his pelt as he lazed about near the cliffs just out of reach of the shadows from the rocky creations. Stretching out his limbs the blood hued lion lay on his side with only the tip of his tail moving along with the gentle rise and fall of his chest.

As he lay there, golden eyes were barely open but the sight of an approaching form did not go unnoticed. Shifting his head slightly he fixated his attentnion upon the lioness. Ah yes, she had been residing in the den for some time now. It was apparent she was of the blood as she carried herself with dignity and superiority plus her coat told all. The King did not feel the need to approach her. He wanted to see how long it would take her and her mate to confront him. In truth, the King didn't even know the two's names. Maybe now was the time? It certainly appeared it with the way the lioness was walking with a sense of knowing and determination.

With a sigh he pulled his body up from the ground and sat upon the ground which was steadily getting warmer. A good shaked of his head dislodged a lot of the sand that had clung to him and sent it flying into the air before settling back upon the rather packed ground.

Chomo had woke up a little after Nuri, and noting her abscense, had fretted for a while over wether she would disapprove of him following her out onto the sands. Finally he came to the conclusion that he had a right to tag along after her like a lovesick pup, he couldn't afford anything to happen to her or the unborn children she carried. So, after getting himself looking respectable, he headed out of the warm sanctuary of the caves his family had called home and into the warming air of the outdoors.

He glanced about himself, ember-hued eyes narrowed in the to him, blinding early morning light. After he had gained his day vision he was finally able to discern Nuri not too far off, making her way towards the king of the pride. It seemed the time had come to request their place in the pride of their ancestors after so long wandering astray.

After the confrontation observed on the sands before, Chomo was worried that the king would not take kindly to them both, turning them out back into the desert. But part of him objected, surely the formidable male had held reasons for his actions that day? It wouldn't do to judge before he knew all of what was to go on.

Taking a deep breath, Chomo made his way across the sands, following in the pawprints of Nuri, his own posture composed but carefully planned so as to be non threatening. He knew he was a tenant here regardless and through memories of his father, knew the etiquette required of hunters.

Taking a moment to turn her head, Nuri caught sight of not only the king, but Chomo as well. Halting her movements until he would make his way to her side, she did not feel she could go through with the task ahead without him. Her eyes moving back upon Kimeti, she settled down upon her haunches in the sands, mind wandering to thoughts that had haunted her for months.

It would only be for a moment, the task of judgement that would over come them. Since the day they returned, and even before than, Nuri knew that they would need to have a certin appearence before they could move in to the pride. If they were to speak the wrong words, or even move the wrong way, they would be turned away before even getting a chance to settle with their cubs. So as soon as Chomo joined her side, Nuri moved to stand once more, ignoring the extra weight and lifting her head high. She would show no weakness, nothing that would be something another could attack.

Padding closer to the king, she settled with her options, before finally deciding to still her paws a distance away, giving him his space. Moving her head down in a light, small bow, her eyes still kept sight of his own paws. If he were to move, she would lift her head, but until than, she would keep low.

"Your Highness..." Her icy voice spoke off, void of any feeling and yet showing no threats. All she could do now is wait, and see what Kimeti and Chomo would do next.

Kimeti watched as the lioness waited for her mate. It seemed the pride was blossoming with mates now. Only a few months ago there was not a single mated pair now there were two, one of which was his sister even if she wasn't officially mated, it was apparent it wouldn't be too much longer.

As the two approached the King watched patiently. They certainly carried themselves well but what else could Kimeti expect of Firekin pride members. The lioness was holding herself neutral as was the male. A fair and safe way to approach someone who held their fate in his words. With the small bow the King rose onto four paws and moved towards the two.

"Now, I doubt I truly have to guess why you two are here." A near smile was tugging at his maw. Though Kimeti was a ruthless King at times he still had the ideals his mother held. They were just not as prominent as Kinja's. "I was beginning to wonder when you would approach me but if I remember correctly you both arrived when my sister and I confronted each other. I do not blame you for fearing me should that have been the reason for your delay to see me. That was not the uh...best day for members of the Blood to arrive."

He looked from the lioness to the lion. "Now, what are your names?"

Chomo hazarded the faintest of smiles at Nuri as he drew alongside her before turning his attention to Kimeti. He too bowed out of respect and seated himself, aware that a seated position was one which didn't afford any opportunity for attack and therefore would serve, he estimated as a good first impression.

As the king of the Firekin approached, Chomo observed him in detail, he seemed familiar in form and poise, possibly some memory of the royalty of his youth lingering. He was anxious, his heart hammering in his chest as he stood there, however the Blood did not fail him, not a single sign of this inner turmoil manifested outwardly.

However, nothing could have calmed his jangling nerves more than the slight smile that seemed to be threatening to overtake Kimeti's expression, it warmed Chomo's thoughts considerably to think that there was indeed just a highborn lion before them, not necissarily an evil tyrant as his nightmares had been constructing.

"Indeed, your highness, we come seeking your blessing to return to the ranks of the pride that sired us." he replied, making sure to observe the formalities of title. He too permitted his usual warm smile to return to his features, glad of the pleasant air of the conversation. "And I do see now that most likely that first encounter wasn't nessisarily favourable circumstances."

"As for my name, I am Chomo, son of the deceased Moto and Kimwitu, hunters both."

While the two spoke, Nuri found her eyes wandering away and than fading into her mind, the colors clouding darkly over as the debths grew deeper. Her form did not seat like Chomo's did, however, she was clearly not one able to send any attacks in her state. Unblinking, her mind wandered off to the day before, when the battles took place and they were forced to watch the interactions for the sands above.

Yet, she went even farther back in her mind to the day she met the other lion, the first one she had seen since her family was forced into leaving. Teleka's words of the queen that was rising caught her intrest once more, and before she was shaken back to reality, she remembered the words and something came to her mind. Chomo did his introduction, and than it was time for her own.

"My name is Nuri, daughter of Adish and Fyeta." She chose not to speak any more of her parents, seeing no need since they clearly had left the pride generations ago. Instead, however, she moved on to what was being said, the conversation peaking her intrest and giving her reason to speak of the rumors that brushed acrossed the lands and towards her ears.

"I take it your sister was the one that everyone spoke of as the soon-to-be queen," She said it in a soft, thoughtful way that seemed to be musing, "I understand your actions..." She had no reason to question his motives that day, less she wanted to be sent off alone as Chomo got his chances. Though she would never tell him, she knew that if one were to be sent away, she would leave and force him to stay. He deserved it more, in her mind he was a true Firekin.

Kimeti nodded to Chomo and Nuri. There was certainly a bit explaining to do to thw two if they were to be members of this pride. But, first things first. "You have my blessings to remain here. I won't turn away any of the Blood as long as they don't give m reason to."

He paused momentarily before lowering his rear half to the packed sandy ground with his tail curling around his haunches. "Now, what you need to know is what that confrontation was about. My sister Kwana was born eldest out of the litter but she was not chosen to be the heiress. My older brother Kavuasi was the one who was to ascend to the throne but he dissapeared when we were mere cubs. Next in line was me. The Firekin have always favored males to ascend to the throne and Kwana just couldn't understand that. She may have been eldest but she was not the one chosen to be heir after Kavuasi, I was. Kwana didn't take it well and ever since I took the throne she has ben plotting to overthrow me. I waited and hoped she would come to her senses but it came to the point where I could wait no longer. That was the day you both arrived at the pride."

There, that was done and the two would no longer need to sneak around and hear storied that were exaggerated or adjusted depending on who they talked to. Kimeti was aware the Teleka had favored Kwana and still did. He needed, no...wanted the new members to know exactly what happened. No one else was around since the beginning except mother and she was also no longer within the pride.

Chomo watched Nuri as she spoke, his expression soft. He hadn't thought to query further on the rumours that had been flitting around and was glad that she had the initiative to.

His heart lightened at the words of the king, he didn't intend to start any trouble at all in the desert in the near future, he had no reason to, not with cubs on the way. "Thank you."

As for the situation that was explained to them both, he could understand the king's anger at the situation and at the same time that of his sister. The Firekin had always been a very traditional pride anyway and the aspect of the sun was male, so it was, in some ways, common sense that the masculine would be favoured to the throne, he wasn't sure it was anything genetic that it came down to.

He didn't voice these thoughts too overtly though, simply nodded. "It's good to hear the story from a reliable source, no doubt it would be biased somewhat depending on whom you heard it from in the pride. Still, I doubt the confrontation will be any further my concern, it was before my arrival here."

He swished his tail in the sand.

"A clean slate is a good way to begin, I always think."

Nuri glanced to the side where Chomo had spoken, and let out a soft nod and murmer in agreement.

"We must leave what is in the past behind us...and work towards the future of our pride. That is, if you will alow us to become a part of The Blood once more." Submission was always the best way to go about gaining the trust of others, though the King had proved his power weeks before, it was still a personal gain he needed to acheive. Nuri would not hold anything against him, but she would watch and see just how The Blood was fairing now that they were back. Unconciously or not, it was a part of her nature, and she would keep to it.

"Now, more than ever, is a time that we look to reunite with our kin once more." Taking another glance at Chomo, she was caught starring for a split second at the expresion he held in his eyes. He was all but the opposite of her, being able to easily show what his heart felt, and yet insted of being a weakness it was a large strength he held. Pulling her gaze away, she finally took the chance to study the king himself. For some reason, she felt that he was hoping for more to return, for the pride to blossom just like the lands away from the sands had under Finar-si's paws. And for that very moment, she decided that she too would want that. Yet, she had no idea how he wished to go about it, but she had her opinions and her ways, which would focus on the future; It would be through her cubs, for it was her job to teach them the ways of the Firekins, just as she was taught herself.

The glass gems dangling from his neck caught the sunlight as the orb gre high enough to overpass the large cliffs. The King payed no mind to the brightness of the day, it wasn't like he was unaccustom to the blinding hot rays that the glowing sun radiated. Kimeti's attention was fully upon the two lions in front of him.

"The blood has always run through your veins. I can't truly say that you are sccept back into The Blood since you've always been a part of it." He smiled jovially at the two.

"I do hope that there are others out there making their way back to the pride." He sighed. "There are so few of us and fewer bloodlines at that. If need be I will go out searching for those of The Blood but that will be a last resort." It was true. The idea of straying from the pride to find lost members was always floating around in the back of Kimeti's mind. If soon the pride did not gain more lions and lionesses of different bloodlines then Kimeti wasn't sure what would happen. There was only currently one female which Kimeti could possibly mate with. He doubted he'd take the lioness on as a permanent mate but would surely help the pride in numbers if need to be. He had some time yet though. No reason to rush into mating...yet.

(Correct me if I am wrong on this next part. Not sure how far along Nuri is in this RP)
Kimeti studied the lioness in front of him and noticed the small bulge in her abdomen. A knowing smile crossed his maw. "The future is what we need to worry about. The past was merely our building blocks now it's our time to make this pride into what it was always meant to be. Hopefully our young ones will aid us in that quest."

He paused for a few moments before glancing back at the den. "You are free to find a den to yourselves. There are a few caves that I believe are still able to be occupied. Others are a bit more untrustworthy due to falling rocks and debri. The safest are closest to the main den and my own."

Chomo was very reassured by the king's words, feeling that his blood was now justified and his worries, for now, were swept away. He nodded "I noticed that, the pride seems to be mainly branched off from the royal line, at least as far as coat colours go." he nodded "I am sure others are on their way back to the sands, life seems to be returning to these lands, at least by my less-than-decent judgement."

He smiled warmly at the other's perceptiveness and swished his tail, full of fatherly pride.

"I can only hope we can carry on the wisdom of the pride." he bowed again and went on "Thank you sire, we were living in my old family den, quite near the royal dens, I had a good look around and the walls seem sound, seems like a good place to spend our time here."

Straightening up, he took on a slightly more serious tone, but still remained warm in his attitudes. "I hope to be able to get dug into helping with the hunting of the pride, as soon as my family is settled. I have my parent's honour to uphold in that respect."

Letting Chomo speak for both of them in the meantime, Nuri just kept her gaze on the king as he spoke of the cubs she was carrying. Her eyes held no contemt, but slowly they showed a light respect for the one that would lead herself, her mate, and her cubs. It seemed as if, in her mind, she underestimated the King and his abilities. Though he was not what she pictured, he held the regal stance that she expected, and that gave him more creditablity in her mind.

As soon as Chomo spoke of a job, Nuri found herself nodding and moving in to join the conversation once more.

"I too feel the need to prove myself as a member..." she said softly, "...my parents taught me enough to understand my place, and that is for the good of the pride." She than added a light comment and sent a light smile to Chomo, "Plus, the more that hunt, the more food we shall collect over all and help flurish in these lands. It would be an honor for me to assist in hunting, given I have fufilled my other purpose first."

That purpose she spoke of, was, of course, the purpose of bringing forth her sons and rasing them to help themselves.
