Giggles could be heard filling the air without restraint, echoing in the thick forest, causing the source to be difficult to track. The giddy sounds bounced about, in rounds, trickling to silence, only to rally up to a crescendo once more. There was soft rustling to go along with it, quiet, and swift, barely even disturbing the serenity of the Dreaming.

A tiny buck was weaving about the tall grasses, and leaping around full bushes, chasing the glittering, glowing lights that drifted so carelessly about. Golden eyes darted around to all of them, a smile spread wide on the youths face, nubby tail waggling which caused his entire rump to wiggle back and forth with his excitement. He'd try and bite at the sparkles, but they'd just casually move out the way... due to the unnecessary amount of force he used to try and snap at them. But regardless, he kept up his game of chase and snap, squeaking once as he tripped over his legs, only to roll and get back up onto black hooves. He looked around quickly to make sure no one saw, before puffing up his chest, and lifting his head tall to prance onwards to find some better glowing things!

Mimas did not have the luxury of bounding about. His movements were poise and steady, surprising coming from a buck so young. There was a reason for this behavior and it would become obvious as to why when one spotted the flock of baby finches sitting nestled in the vee of Mimas' shoulders. The little things were huddled together, a mass of blue, red and white, occasionally making small chirping noises. The tweets utterly pleased Mimas and his tail flicked happily from side to side ever time he heard the sound.

The forest around Mimas wasn't so peaceful though. He heard annoying giggling coming from...somewhere, and he snorted in irritation. Granted, the laughing meant that someone was having fun, but since Mimas wasn't having fun, well, no one else should be having any fun either. He was about to head in an the opposite direction of the laughing but was nearly collided into before he even had the chance.

Startled, Mimas lept away, clearing a low bush, putting the foliage between him and the stranger. The birds on his back squawked unhappily at the abrupt movement and flew off into the trees. Stamping his foot unhappily, pawing into the ear. He threw a dirty look at what was obviously another young buck like himself.

"You scared my birds away," he chided unhappily, ears back and tail rigid. He puffed up his chest to make himself look a bit bigger in case this buck was an enemy.

His giggles ceased as he suddenly was met with some other force in his way. A gasp sounded instead, and he skidded to a halt, his tiny hooves digging into the ground with all his might so as to avoid the figure that was just about his size! Squeezing his eyes closed in the process, he did unfortunately manage to fall forward onto his chest with a 'oompf', but collected his spindly legs underneath him to stand right back up.

Ears were flickering about crazy like when he heard the twittering of avians, instantly looking straight up to see the fleeing birds, eyes wide in surprise. Where had they come from? Had they been hiding in this bush here? Or in the grasses, or--

His answer was soon found out as the opposing fawn confronted him. At first Ixton gave a wide smile, clearly pleased to see another deer his age! but that slowly lowered when he was chastised, blinking curiously, before looking back up to the tree tops. Pursing his lips, he pouted slightly, "awww.. I'm sorry. I didn't see you there." looking back to Mimas, he gave a little shrug, "Were you playing with them?" he asked excitedly, prancing closer to check out this other fawn, sniffing at him, tiny nose twitching and flaring lightly... clearly disregarding personal space at the moment.

Yipping in shock when the other faun nearly fell on him, Mimas pranced a few steps back, not wanting to be flattened. He regarded the other unhappily as the one who'd intruded on his quite afternoon. Not even pretending to hide it, Mimas looked the other up and down, not sure what to think. The male was giggly and obviously excitable. That bright smile threw Mimas for a loop, his ears flicking backwards in uncertainty.

"Uh, yes," Mimas replied, tail flicking a bit shyly. "I was playing with them. They're my frie--GAH!" Mimas skittered back at the other's closeness, grunting when his rump made contact with a tree. Unable to escape further, Mimas tensed and underwent the sniffing, his eyes flattened asked his skull. When Mimas wasn't bitten or kicked over anything, he relaxed somewhat, finally having enough of the personal space invasion.

Huffing, Mimas moved forwards, nudging the other faun out of the way. In the process, he took his own cursory sniff before shuffling completely passed the other. "What's your name?" Mimas asked once he had more free space again. "My name is Mimas." Chest puffed, Mimas offered his name with little hidden pride.

Playing with birds? Now that sounded like fun! Looking rather hopefully back up to the tree tops, Ixton pouted lightly again, "Birdies please come back! I want to play with you too!" he sing-songed, tail waggling, before he looked to the other buck for his approval, grinning broadly. They'd come back, surely they would!

With the unknown fawn's scent taken and filed away, Ixton stood before him with bubbling excitement, clearly pleased to have the possibility of a friend! Blinking a bit incredulously from the shove, he grinned and stepped forward again to reclaim where he'd been standing, also puffing up too, "I'm Ixton!" he replied with obvious pride as well, "It's nice to meet you Mimas! Never met someone my age before!" he giggled, tail flickering as he pranced around the other fawn, inspecting him, before coming around the other side to playfully nose his cheek with another whimsical giggle, placing himself before the other to finally finish, "How did you get those birds to come down here?" he asked, head tipping with inquisition. They always flew away from him...

Ixton's antics were putting Mimas on edge. He didn't know how to handle all this prancing and giggling. Not even his brothers had acted in such away. They played of course, but nothing so rowdy as this. Unsure, Mimas danced from foot to foot as the other male circled him, only to startle when a damp nose was pressed to his cheek. Fur bristling, Mimas kept Ixton in his line of sight.

"Well, for one, you must be quiet if you want them to come down." Mimas licked Ixton's nose chidingly. The faun was a bit endearing if Mimas over looked the whole giggling business and, he thought, it WAS nice to be around someone his age who wasn't his brother. "You also must be still. Perhaps if you can do both things they will come down." Even as he spoke though, Mimas heard excited chirping before he felt a slight weight atop his head.

A blue wren, the bravest of the three, sat perched on Mimas' head. The little thing chirped and whistled, it's feather's fluffed cutely as it regarded Ixton.

His ears flicked forward from the lick, making his fluffy tail wiggle happily behind him, and a softer giggle follow. Oh! But he had to be quiet, huh? Well he could do that! Giving a nod of understanding, he quickly quieted down, and watched Mimas expectantly, as the further instructions were given. Stay still, ok! Nodding subtly he did as he was told.

But he couldn't help to let his eyes shift around slowly, peeking up to the treetops again hopefully, waiting patiently for the feathered friends to make their appearance. And there! Alert ears twitched as he heard the melodic song of a precious little avian. A smile spread on his face in awe, and his eyes lit up, "So cute~" he breathed, watching the darling bird perch right onto Mimas. Ixton, though he knew he was supposed to be still, couldn't help but walk right up to see the wren closer up, cooing softly, "You are so fluffyyyy~"

While Mimas wrinkled his nose at Ixton, the bird atop his head seemed charmed. The little creature chirped and fluffed up, eying Ixton curiously. When the young buck got close enough, the little blue bird hopped from Mimas' head to Ixton's. Tweeting happily it started to studiously groom one of Ixton's ears, acting like it hadn't just betrayed Mimas.

"Typical," Mimas muttered, tossing the bird a disgusted look. Though, he could understand. Ixton was obnoxiously cute and Mimas was having a hard time hating the other. "C'mon, lets go out to the meadow," he suggested, growing secretly pleased at having another of his own age to play with. He nudged the other faun lightly before he passed him. As if on cue, the other two birds flew down through the trees to sit on Mimas' back again. Of course, the blue wren stayed comfortably atop Ixton's head.

A soft gasp sounded from tiny Ixton as the bird chose him as a new perch, tickled with glee, but keeping from giggling with laughter; after all he didn't want to frighten his new passenger! But he was ever so delighted! Thus it translated in his tail flickering behind him rapidly, looking to Mimas for his approval.

Though the response he saw instead made him blink curiously. Oh dear was he mad? But he'd done what Mimas had instructed, and it'd worked! his worry didn't last long though ash e couldn't help but feel all blissful as his ears were tended to, allowing just a quiet bubble of laughter to escape him. "He's so cute, Mimas!" Ixton exclaimed in a sing songy tone. With the declaration to move on, the cream fawn didn't hesitate to prance on after the other, brushing up against his side to keep close, smiling at him proudly, "I guess he likes me then, huh?" with the arrival of the other birds, he gave a soft 'oooohhhh' sound in awe, gazing at them too. Trying to look up at the darling little blue wren currently atop his head, he beamed brighter, "The whole family's here!"

It was utterly impossible not to think Ixton cute. The young fawn reminded him of someone, though he wasn't sure why he felt so. He'd never met anyone like Ixton before. Still though, he did offer the other a pleased nod, his own tail flicking leisurely from side to side. "It seems like he does like you," Mimas agreed, his ire from before thankfully melting away to leave him composed once more.

At Ixton's proud smile, Mimas licked his cheek in praise, already treating him as some kind of little brother. "I'm not sure if they're all related, honestly," he replied. "They just showed up one day and started following around. I like them though. They keep me company." He tossed a look at the blue wren who had just made himself comfortable and was cooing atop Ixton's head comfortably.

"So, Ixton, what do you do for fun? Other than running about the forest that is," Mimas added teasingly.

Pleased to have Mimas' consent, he giggles very lightly from the lick, affectionately nuzzling against the other fawns neck happily. It seemed that he wasn't mad at all! He did mimic Mimas though in order to properly carry the blue wren, falling into the same timing of steps with the other buck too! his gaze would constantly sneak peeks at the other birds, rather tickled by their antic's and how they huddled together. "Wow... you must be really cool then, huh Mimas?" he smiled to his new companion... before crossing his eyes to try and look up the little fluff on top of him, "Right birdy?" he cooed.

His ears flickered with the question posed, looking back to Mimas with a bright smile, "Oh! I love exploring, and swimming, and finding yummy things to eat, and chasing the glowy's, and chasing dragonflys, and butterflies, and--" he stopped short, and suddenly turned his attention eagerly back to the other fawn, "What about you?"
