User Image"small minded fools." Hex muttered kicking over a stone with her one black hoof as she wondered along the river bank. A light dusting of snow covered her back helping to soothe the bruises from the attack. She had been rejected from yet another herd. Apparently no one appreciated the art that death held let alone understood the secrets it uncovered. Apparently in these lands Extispicy was a violently rejected art.
She looked up at the sky winter was only just starting the hardest parts were yet to come and she was already struggling for survival on a day to day basis. Thank fully no walkers had picked up her trail being a lone mare with no combative skills she stood no chance if one did attack. she needed to find a heard to accept her and her art and soon or surely she would perish.

It was cold; colder than she had expected it to be. Shuddering slightly, she shook some snow off her back; snow that had gathered from when she was eating the bark off a high part of a tree for a meal. She still didn't understand why the stars had led her here... She still had yet to even be able to see them in several days. The clouds had hid them from her, and on occasion she saw a glimpse of one or two, but she needed the full night sky to be able to read them as she generally did. She sighed as she shook out her mane for a second, her body shuddering under the cold. She didn't have the coat for this; no. She wasn't fluffy enough to be kept in the cold weather.

Shaking her mane again, the mare moved forward with an almost liquid grace. She was careful as she moved, not wanting to cause herself more cold than needed. But as she moved, she could feel her legs just... chilling from her hooves up toward her spine. She sighed, her breath visible from the temperature change, and carefully moved forward, and toward the forest that she was trying to explore. She had to find something to do. She couldn't just sit around, even if the clouds were hidden from her. So, she moved quietly through, walking around several trees, and at times, pausing to rear up and sniff at some of the bark, checking to see if it was possible to eat it. So, sighing, she shook her head again and fell back to her hooves. She walked forward quietly, looking around, trying to find something that she could do while waiting for the stars to once more reveal themselves.

Then, something in the distance. Pausing her movement, the pale colored mare peered forward curiously. She tilted her head to the side, eyes squinting lightly. There was something there. Something dark. She tilted her head the other way, taking a half step forward to stare at the creature in the distance. It was something... And it was moving. She breathed out a small sigh, smiling a bit. Maybe this was why she was here... She moved forward slowly, her hooves brushing the snow, causing it to shift and dust on the ground. Tilting her head, she walked a slight circle around the mare at a far off distance so that she wouldn't see her. Deciding to try and converse with the oddly marked creature, she moved forward and ensured she was in her line of sight. After all, she didn't want to accidentally startle the mare. Stopping a few feet off, she smiled lightly, before inclining her head a bit. "Hello there.." She said, voice light.

Hex turned to look at who had spoken. It was a mare of pale coloring not small in stature, but not large either, tastefully adorned with human trinkets, who seemed to hold herself with dignity.
"and Hello to you as well." she replied inclining her head as well.
Hex shivered and stamped her hooves to get the snow off. Millions of tiny flakes lept off her back like a mini blizzard and her her pink mane ruffled up like a hap hazard Mohawk. The remainder of the snow she brushed off with her long tail.
"I've been so deep in thought I barely noticed it was snowing." she added with a kind of laugh
"I must look an awful mess. Hex by the way Hex Fettergeist."
She wondered if her politeness sounded as forced- no more . . .awkward as it felt. She didn't particular have any malice for this strange mare but the stress of her current lifestyle had turned her mood a tad sour. Then again getting chased out of a herd during the start of the months divination would turn just about anyone's mood a little bitter. The worst part is she hadn't even gotten to read the things entrails so now she was going to have to fly blind for at least a week.

Matar's gaze flickered along the mare for several moments. She seemed almost... Well, she couldn't figure out the word. Blowing some of her bangs from her face, Matar smiled at her, letting her tail give a slight flick, which caused a few snowflakes to drift down toward the ground from the feathers in her tail. She hadn't expected to meet someone out here; after all, it was the dead of winter and, for the most part, that meant that most people were huddled into their homes, trying to stay warm and away from the bite of winters wind. The pale mare didn't have anyone, so she didn't really have a place to go. And adventuring had become her family recently, so she was quite enjoying the snow and finding out new things about it. Though she had to admit, running into another person was a good thing. The starts were starting to lead her astray, from the high cloud coverage, and she wasn't sure which way to go any more.

Shaking the thoughts from her head, Matar focused once more on the dark colored mare. She was rather interesting looking, and Matar found that even her speech pattern was a little different than others she had met. She also wandered how it was that she had been so lost in thought that the snow collected on her. Though that would be a question for another day; Matar wasn't one to rudely go and exclaim things. She was an observer, and rarely spoke out of turn, unless it was needed. She didn't like to seem as though she was stepping over bounds or anything. She was too sweet for that. Letting a small smile shift over her features, she inclined her head politely toward Hex, before lifting it up back to her full height ( even though it wasn't that tall to begin with ). "My name is Al Sa'd al Matar; though I just go by Matar or Mattie. It's a pleasure to meet you, Hex." She stated.

Glancing back up to the sky, she frowned. Where were the stars? Why were they hiding from her. Her muscles quivered from the cold, before settling still for several moments. She needed to figure out where to go, and without the stars to aid her, she would be lost for... well... who knows when. Her only hope was to settle down somewhere close by and wait for the clouds to move on, so that she could continue her adventures and try to find her family, all the while making friends. Of course, she didn't hold the family aspect too high on her list, considering it had been this long without a single thought of being anywhere close to them. She hadn't seen anyone that resembled herself in any way, so it was a mystery as to where they actually were, and if she would actually find them.
