The following interview took place following the November edition of Saturday Night Evolution. Cartwright sat down with the WWE:E.com staff to discuss his WWE:E career and recent events surrounding his return.
WWE:E: "Thank you for your time Cartwright. Firstly welcome back to WWE;E. We haven't seen you here for a long time. Tell us what brought you back here after a long absence."
Cartwright: "The reason that I have been away for so long is because I have had no reason to be here. When I debuted here a few years ago as King Kartwright, I proved how amazing I am instantly by quickly becoming the WWE:E World Champion and the very first WWE:E Undisputed Champion when I merged the two brands of Evolution and Destiny. I held the Undisputed Championship for 10 months with fierce competition, which is pretty darn impressive in this day and age and still one of my biggest and proudest achievements. I was the biggest heel on the roster who the crowd loved to hate."
Cartwright: "After doing that, what else was there to do? The answer was......nothing. I proved that I was the best, in one of the biggest and best wrestling promotions of all time. So I continued my quest elsewhere, capturing World Championships elsewhere for years. But what has brought me back? Well let's just say I'm doing someone a favour...."
WWE:E: "Hiro obviously?"
Cartwright: "Obviously. He needed someone to help him reach the top, so he made the smart choice and asked me to mentor him. Seems like he's found some friends who could also do with my assistance."
WWE:E: "Hiro calls himself, you, Guy Cancer and Cyrus Darke collectively as The Hated. What are your thoughts on this?"
Cartwright: "I'd say it was 75% accurate. I'm not hated. I know how much everyone loves me. I'm a respected veteran and legend these days. The crowd roars with approval at everything I do. The boys in the back practically hero-worship me."
WWE:E: "What about Kyle Dracious?"
Cartwright: "What about him?"
WWE:E: "We interviewed him earlier and he didn't speak kindly of you. He says that he no longer sees you as a respected veteran because you attacked him and that you are managing Hiro, a quote 'jobber' end quote."
Cartwright: "Guy's a bit touchy ain't he? A little sensitive? All I did through that entire match was play by the rules. So I did attack him, big deal. That's what a lumberjack has to do. As for his little jobber quip, on behalf of Hiro, I challenge Kyle to a match. Let's see Kyle vs Hiro and find out who the real jobber is."
WWE:E: "Do you agree that Hiro has an ego problem?"
Cartwright: "We all have ego's here. He's no different to anybody else in the back. That's all part of the wrestling business, ego's and politics. The Hated don't seem to be very good at handling their ego's or politics, they are literally hated. But that's where I come in. I can guide them to greatness just like I made myself great, the legend that I am."
WWE:E: "Apart from guiding The Hated, do you have any other goals now that you have returned to WWE:E?"
Cartwright: "You know what? I did originally plan to just guide these men. The wrestling business has been so good to me, it'd be nice to give something back you know? But I'm starting to get the itch. I hope it isn't a sign of crabs. Anyway, I know that I'm still the best. If management wants to throw me into the mix, let's see how things go."
WWE:E: "But the last time you held WWE:E gold was in 2009. How confident are you that you could become Champion in 2013?"
Cartwright: "100% confident. I've kept my skills sharp as I stated earlier. If I didn't think I was amazing myself I wouldn't have taken up the task of managing The Hated. It would be an amazing story if I could become World Champion again after four years now wouldn't it? But thinking about it, I never held the WWE:E Tag Team Championships. If anyone fancies joining forces with me, whether they be from The Hated or not, I don't care. Let's go for it."
WWE:E: "Thank you for your time."
