It had easily been over 3 hours since Lyssa had last seen daylight, her back legs hurt, her fur was wet and her head felt light with the lack of voices that had dimmed to a quite murmur. But worst of all was her inability to stretch. To clench a paw out to the sky and shake till she lost all bodily sensation! Her tail whipped violently from side to side, up and down as if willing the rest of her body to follow suit but it just wasn’t going to happen. Because Lyssa had wedged herself down a drain.

Hind legs poking out she was staring down the long black tube of a waste pipe and what had started as happily enjoyment of blood rushing to her ears had quickly become something of stressed panic as skin twitched with the need to move. Both paws were in front having tried to perform a swan dive into hole which she had considered an excellent resting place for her face. She had been wrong.

Now her soft cries were all that could be heard as she wiggled slightly for relief only to cause herself to slip further down the gap into oblivion…or pee. “Weeeeeii! I mean...mee-oo-www!”

Sailor Eos was beginning to get the hand of this whole patrolling solo. Whilst it had been intimidating at first - what if she'd been ambushed!? - it appeared that the holiday season was the perfect time to start practicing, since she had yet to run into any real trouble. She'd even been able to practice a little energy-draining on a few unsuspecting crooks downtown, without so much as a peep from those horrid white moon senshi. Perhaps they were all busy chasing after their stupid, non-existant queen.

She was in a quieter part of town this evening, avoiding the centre for fear of crowds of last-minute shoppers and dodging the nastier parts of town because she didn't particularly feel like a fight. No, she wanted tonight to be chilled and relatively easy, just a bit of light exercise.

Initially she thought the wails of distress were just the wind, but they seemed too persistant. Eyebrows furrowed downwards in a confused frown as the blonde tried to follow the noise, curious as to what it might be. Once she'd rounded the corner it was difficult to miss the flailing back legs of a cat, with it's head stuck down the drain. Eos blinked widely - well, that wasn't a sight you saw everyday. She didn't think drains were particularly the favourite hiding places of cats. "You've managed to get yourself into a bit of a pickle there," she spoke softly, not wanting to spook the cat as she approached, "I think you could use a bit of a hand, hmm?"

OHMYGOSHSOMEONEHASAPICKLE The calming soft voice was lost on Lyssa as she heard the key word that could brighten anybody’s day. Her subtle movements developed into violent thrashing as she tried to escape her tubular prison, all the while she cried her inaudible joy at what she was bound to receive. “Picklepicklepickles!..Picklepicklepick-” her muffled voice was stemmed by the pipe but if Eos was to listen carefully she could not mistake the sound of her ridiculous rants. “PICKLES!!!!”

Funny thing was she didn’t even like them….

Her tail flickered and tried to touch what she could only describe as her guardian potato warrior come to rescue her and she let out a soft mew in delight if she happened to brush across anything, her body trying to remain malleable in the hope that hands would soon be pulling her out of here…although she was going to miss this place. It had been so good to her.

Was the cat...talking?. It was mimicking her? Eos blinked, eyes wide, surprised that a Guardian Cat (since they were the only types of cat that could talk, right?) had managed to get itself stuck down a drainpipe. Didn't they have some sort of special power that would help them out? Now she thought about it, perhaps a 'removing-oneself-from-a-drainpipe' power did seem a bit farfetched.

"Hey, stay still or you'll hurt yourself." A quick glance around had confirmed that there was no-one about, and now knowing that this was no ordinary cat Sailor Eos felt a lot less ridiculous talking to it. Slender hands brushed against the flickering tail first before rubbing the pretty red hind, slowly making their way down to wrap securely around the feline's mid-drift. There wasn't really an easy, painless way to do this - she was just going to have to pull. "Ready?" she asked, not really expecting a response, more wanting to prepare the cat for what was about to come. "On three - one, two...three!"

She gave as gentle but firm a tug as she could, adding in a slight twisting action when she realized that the cat was wedged in.

Feeling the safety of hands wrapping round her torso Lyssa went limp to aid the rescue, even though her version of “limp” was to wiggle her body like a furry worm, it was a slightly less accentuated movement from the moment before. The sudden twist had her spinning her face against the side of the pipe covering her fur with a thick layer of something…unpleasant. Worryingly it didn’t seem to affect the cat as she squealed another sound of glee before squelching out with a pop. The force would have sent Eos back a little but she had claimed her price. Hanging upside down but completely rescued was a very smelly kitty.

“Pickles now please.”

Her face the colour of decaying swamp and the smell was something akin to 6 day old moulding pizza Lyssa peered upside-down from the girls grasp and grinned (as much as a cat could do) baring her teeth happily at her hero. Layers of grime had become stuck between her gums and if Eos ever thought it, it looked distinctly like Lyssa had been licking the inside of the pipe while down there.

“Pretty pickle fairy, thank you, thank you, thank youuuuuuuuuu!” She squirmed to be let down but not out of haste or fear but so she could truly thank her saviour. With a hug

With a satisying 'POP' noise the cat was free, though the momentum of the rescue sent Sailor Eos stumbling backwards a few steps. She made sure to keep a firm grip on the cat, however - rescuing the feline from the pipe and then dropping her on her head was somewhat counterproductive. Eos began to smile, pleased with herself, but her face was soon contorted into a somewhat disgusted expression as a horrible stench reached her nostrils. A horrible stench that was very clearly emanating from the wriggling ball of fur in front of her that was now trying to hug her.

"Heyyy you're welcome!" she exclaimed, not wanting to upset the cat but at the same time not wanting to get covered in smell-pipe-goop. Still, she was wriggling a fair amount and so eventually the blonde had to settle for somewhat goop-covered arms in order to fully restrain the feline. "You're a little messy though, huh?" Sailor Eos was still speaking as if she was talking to a regular cat - she knew about Guardian Cats, but she hadn't met one (at least not that she could remember). It was quite exciting, that she was finally getting to meet one! So much so that she could kind of let the disgusting smell and the gross pipe-goop slide just a little. She even reached up, scratching a little of the non-gross fur behind the red kitty's ears, "How on earth did you manage to get stuck in there, hmm?"

Lyssa found this girl most accommodating, not only was her rescuer covered in gooey slimy goodness but she was also one of those new breed of Senshi she had heard so much about! For all Lyssa was “gifted” her abilities were there only to sniff out potential senshi for corrupting with the full force of chaos. The Dark Court were a separate entity of their own and she had no power over them, even if they did still bubbled with the same chaotic energies she loved to spread on her toast every morning. Or was that jam? Either way she was pretty sure she could remember being able to at least tap into their energies and aid them towards a higher state of power. Or was it higher state of toast? She was pretty sure they had been talking about toast right now. Did she have toast? Obvious this girl before her was selling toast. Boy did she want some toast.

“TooooAssssstttt…” Having been staring blankly at the senshi for the last few seconds in totally silence it may have seemed a little surprising for Lyssa to come out with that but then again it wouldn’t take someone long to realise this kitty was insane. The drool didn’t help either. Her ears at least picked up the question the girl had asked and happily purred into her hand as she snapped out of her trance.

“goIng doWn the RAbb-it holeeee of CoU---rse!” She wanted to say “Duh” but her vocabulary wasn’t strong enough for that word just yet and instead she pushed out her energies to read the senshi’s aura before her. The Chaos tinge that Lyssa felt floating around Eos flinched slightly under the guardians probe before allowing her to read its subtle waves.

“YoUR so neW, so PreciOus. DiD the DarkNess take LoNG to FinD YoUR SwEEt SenSeSsss YoUNg OnE?” Her voice vibrated between each purr until it became an erratic singsong for only Eos to hear.
