Lyssa had felt she had achieved an epiphany tonight. Difficult and intangible as it was she had finally wrestled the idea into a controllable solid force adopting both her idealistic views and tranquil nature without becoming too lost in its perfect image. It was a thing of marvellous beauty and wisdom. And although it was indeed a brown plastic bag with teenage vomit trapped within it, to her it held all the colours of the rainbow…and some extra chunky bits too. Nothing could allow you to smell the colours quite like it and the after taste was a worthy price to pay.

Of course Lyssa didn’t spend all day eating vomit from zit-marked youths, that was purely reserved for a Thursday but sometimes, just sometimes, she threw caution to the wind. She couldn’t remember why exactly or who she was from time to time but she almost certainly knew that something very amazing was going to happen. She could feel it in her claws, the waves of her fur, the grisly bits in her ears. The air was humming around her and she could sense the vibrations of the energy that surround them.

Good things always happened when the sky sang.

Hanging around the streets of Destiny City wasn’t exactly inspired but with her ability to sense other energies prone to the demands of her ‘friends’ she found the only way to seek them out was to allow them to find her. Easy said than done of course but a cat eating vomit, no matter how normal to Lyssa, was bound to stand out to someone. Hopefully it would be the lucky soul who was meant for this meeting written in the stars.

Navi was feeling restless. She'd powered up early, probably earlier then was wise, seeing as the sun was still painting the horizon in pinks and oranges. Something had driven her out of the apartment though, and she wasn't prone to ignoring such things.

Something similar had pulled her out into one of the biggest storms of the year, and it had been then that she'd found Chaonis in dire need of assistance.

This wasn't the same sense of urgency as that night though, this was something different. It felt as though the Dark Mirror Senshi had brushed a live wire, and was buzzing with energy she had no way of diffusing. No amount of aimless wondering helped, nor running and bounding along the rooftops of the city. It felt like she had gone for miles, the sun had sunk beneath the ridge of buildings, and the sky was quite dark now, but still that tingling over abundance of restless energy remained.

She had just returned to the sidewalk, turning to make her way back towards the park near her apartment, when something odd caught her attention. A cat, vividly red, with it's head hidden within a plastic bag.

What's more, there came the slight sense of power that she'd encountered twice before. Not a senshi or another magical warrior, but something different.

With a slight frown she turned, moving slowly down the alley and towards the cat. "Hello there?"

Ahh the Christmas tree lights never lied, here she was just as they had predicted. Petite and pretty she would be, everything the lights had whispered too her. She had known as soon as Navi had spoken that it was she that she had waited for this evening. The mirrors would sing her praises. The bag of vomited nearly empty, the guardian quite full and the moon high on its haunches the moment couldn’t be more perfect and the red kitten eagerly pulled her head from its confines to grin wildly at the senshi who had made her appearance. Being covered in sick probably wasn’t the best impression though but Lyssa, like a bat out of hell, ran towards the Sailor scout.

“YoU CamE! THey tOLd me You Would, YES, thEy Did, Yes They DiD! The PuPPet was tHe FirSt YoU See. Tall FellOW, YeLLow FUR. I SenSED tHen I CouLD HeLp!” Her body was already wrapping itself around Navi’s legs when her mouth finally closed and her deep purrs began. She was so pleased. Her true babies were ever so rare, at least with the Dark court she could help and help she would.

The cat turned, and Navi's head tilted to one side as the little bits of discolored flotsam clung to that little red face. Hazel eyes narrowing as she tried to identify the mystery bits before the cat began to sprint towards her. She barely had time to register, in fact, that the odd clumps might be something completely unsavory. "Wait.." No good, she was still coming. "Wait. Wait!"

Nothing doing. She had barely twitched a foot to move backward when the cat had all but rammed her head into her ankle. Purring like a Harley.

At least she'd been right in her assumptions. This was a magical cat, and by her enthusiasm it was safe to assume that she was chaos aligned. And, unless she was interpreting the odd string of multi-leveled ramblings wrong, she'd helped Remarque gain a higher level.

"Were you the one that brought him to his eternal power?" Was that the sickly sweet, and unmistakable scent of vomit on the air? Navi's nose wrinkled.

Lyssa was vibrating with joy now as her skeleton frame twisted over her ankles and battered her calves. She pawed at the orange transparent tendrils that fell from Navi’s fuku and caressed her hand when ever it dipped to jumping level as she sprung about on her hind legs. She had started to hum erratically her skin twitching as if dancing to the beat and it took a while for the guardian cat to quell her excitement to a talkative level.

“Yes shE, no ME, Who, yoU, nO shE!? YeS Me!!! I HeLped him! Took HIS forM anD made IT sinGGGG!!” Her voice quivered under the strain of purring and humming and talking all at the same time and every word would make her choke and cough but she didn’t stop. You would never stop.

“HOw Many KnOTS can a KnOT maN Knot if a KnoT mAn finIShed KnoTing!! TWisT roNnd the StriNGs he GoEs, WhEn thE tIme COmEs He wILL be
CuT, NoT with a KnifE bUt wIth a wHimpeRing RosE…” She had taken to rolling across this floor to pass on this cryptic message and had completely forgotten it again when she sat up to paw once more at Navi’s fuku. Her bouts of sanity and coherence were rare but her memory was even worse - her information being constantly passed on by door knobs of course. If it weren’t for them she would never get a thing done!

“TeLL me YoUR wishes MirrOr, mirror, I wilL tell you mIne, I seE PicKles in My future anD I see FeatheRs in ThinE…”

It wasn't so much the bouncing around that began to steal the smile from Navi's lips. After all, it was a cat she was dealing with, and her experiences with the mauvians was quite limited. For all she knew they all acted for all the world like actual cats. No, what called the frown upon the pink buds of her lips was the erratic, nonsensical ramblings that seemed to come without end. She starred down at the brightly colored kitten at her feet, and she struggled to settle on an adequate emotional range for this encounter.

On the one hand, here was a guardian cat, and they were the bringers of power. Ever ambitious, Navi did crave the elevation of grandeur she knew still awaited her.

Then again.. She was beginning to have misgivings about the sanity of the cat rolling about the ground. Only a handful of words made ant sense at all, and it was a tempting thing to retreat a few steps from the persistent smell of vomit.

And then she said something interesting, and whatever doubts the senshi had a moment ago was washed away. It wasn't much, just the mere mention of feathers, but it was enough. The dark senshi dropped to her knees to bring herself down to the cat's level. "Power, my sweet friend, the power to protect the ones I care for. That is my wish."

Ahhh was there nothing more satisfying to hear than a Senshi wanting more power! To enhance their soul and become one with their sphere, to gather knowledge and magic and combine it within themselves to become everything they are destined to be! AND GAIN BUTTLOADS OF FEATHERS. Lyssa couldn’t get enough of them! Her babies refused to grow any of their own opting for the more rubbery look but these were far more enjoyable to Lyssa’s pallet when she could feast on them after the remains of a battle. Sometimes she would cough them back up and they would glitter and gleam like shiny black pearls, others would tell her stories of bathtubs and sometimes she would lay in a bed made of them and let them sing her to sleep. Either way she was overjoyed to hear Navi claim her wish for them and allow Lyssa to be the one to grant it.

“Your not one of my pygmy shrews but I will help you! Help you fight, help you survive!….

…dun….

……dun dun…dun dun..

……….dun dun dun…dun dun dunnnnnnn….

……………..ris-ing up… back on the streee-eeet…”

Her voice warbled off with an amazing rendition of eye of the pygmy shrew before her ears pricked up to the sound of the wind rustling through the alleyway, the scent of new beginnings in the air and the tremors of acceptance under paw and Lyssa remember why she was here, remembered what she had to do and what to say.

And then promptly forgot it.

BUT THEN IT CAME BACK!

“Welcome to the abyss my child…” Her voice came through calm and normal, almost frightening in its not unhinged manner, for that wasn’t Lyssa’s although her mouth moved with the words. Her body shook violently before dry heaving, her body arching forward as she pushed out the glowing orb that seemed to grow from her throat. Bright orange and perfect in everyway the ball escaped the confines of teeth and gum to float before Navi in all its glory. It shone bright, twirling as it held within it the essence of magic and power. Coughing Lyssa flopped to one side, lazily flapping a paw towards Navi.

“Do yoU accept this GiFt conjurer oF tHe TumblEs” No one said accepting power was going to be pretty. But if Navi decided to ignore the sheer grossness of how Lyssa was able to channel the power to upgrade into this orb she could accept it into her star seed and passing though a mirror would activate it, allowing her to be everything she wanted.

Pygmy shrews? Ok, if there had been any doubt in the senshi's head regarding the mental health of the guardian before it, it was eradicated by the warbling song she had begun to...

Well you couldn't exactly call that singing.

There was a thoughtful, concerned frown on Navi's lips as she stared down at the cat. Wondering if the cat before her knew what she was doing. If She'd even risen enough in power to reach the ranks of the eternals. Maybe the cat was mistaken? Maybe she was just bat s**t nuts, and had no idea what was going on?

But then she spoke again, and the voice that came from that special little body was startlingly calm. Faith was beginning to reform in the cat, and the fron faded, until Lyssa began to dry heave, and Navi was very tempted to pluck the cat up and thump her on her sides to help clear her wind pipe.

That was unneeded though. Seconds later an orb had been thrown up to float between the two of them. Bright, vivid orange, and so terribly familiar. In that moment it didn't matter that this power had literally been thrown up, She reached for the glowing ball even as Lyssa asked if she would accept it. Of course she would, this was her power. It belonged to her and her alone.

The orb shone at her presence, glowed hotter the closer Navi reached for it and erupted once touched. Its rays of power shone like spotlights across the alleyway as it pushed forward into her hand and brought itself and the limb closer to her chest. The heat which would be striking at first would become softer the closer it came to her star seed, almost like it realised it belonged to her, forever. Although the effect it had on her could only be explained by Navi, Lyssa watched through heavy eyes at the Senshi who accepted this gift and pondered her reaction. She had seen some of her precious treasures scream at the increase of power, others crying uncontrollably where some shouted at the sky clouds for more. Lyssa opened her eyes wider when the power hit its mark, absorbing the light until her eyes dried out and spots popped up into her vision. She battered at them excitedly until the alleyway returned to its original darkness and the power had all but disappeared. To look at Navi was to see no difference in her attire but her aura shone brighter, more fiery and more determined.

“Ohhhh so shiney, so shiney!”

The heat from the orb when she touched was almost blistering, but no pain reached her fingertips. Only a tingling thrill of energy before that ball began to raise. There was no control now, her hand seemed fixed upon that glowing sphere of power, and it rose towards her without any help from the girl herself. She did't fight it though. Through the heat and buzz of electric fire she felt the familiarity that radiated from that glow, and she wanted everything it had to offer her.

It touched her chest, and the sudden rush of power was near overwhelming. She had to set her teeth, jaw clenching, to keep a scream from bursting past her lips. It was filling her up, and no matter how right, she felt for just a moment as if she would simply burst. The moment passed though, and she fell forward on her knees, barely catching herself as the last linger glow faded and left the alley to darkness once again.

Outwardly there was no difference in the senshi as she struggled to remember how to breath, but she could feel that burning potential inside her, all she had to do now was unlock it, and for that she would need a mirror.

Staring down at the cat, Navi offered a strained smile, thin chest still raising and falling as if she'd been sprinting for miles. "Thank you," she breathed out, pushing herself back to upright and holding her hands out for the ruby furred guardian. They needed to reach a mirror. They, because Lyssa had been the bearer of such gifts, and she deserved to witness the fruits of her labors.

Besides, after this gift, Navi felt the cat deserved something in return. "Let us find a mirror, and see what you work has awoken."

It was wonderful to see the power hadn't obliterated Navi into a thousand tiny pieces. It had once happened to a frog Lyssa had practised on, not so much as giving it power but accidentally destroying it with her laser beam in a last ditch attempt at teaching the thing how to dance. It had indeed done the Lindy hop as she had requested but to its own demise, she still danced with the frog now when she stumbled across its legs or a webbing. It had such poise, such skill!

But back to reality! her eyes blinked furtively at the now beaming Navi although no light shone on this plane it was comforting to bask in its glory. And there was no other answer Lyssa could give in this moment that yes. But of course she gave it a dam good go.

"Ohh GodDeSS I hOpe We AwokE tHAt slendER man I've hEArd so much AboUt! LeTs GO LetS GO! The ChilDreN WiLL Be So PleasEd!"

Navi chuckled, a high, joyous sound, as Lyssa moved forward, rambling on about slenderman. There would be no creatures of nightmares tonight, but there would certainly be magic.Scooping the cat up, the dark senshi turned and headed back out of the alley the way she'd come. There was a planted on a fence behind some bushes just before the residential distract, so that was where she was headed.

On the way she regarded the guardian in her arms, trying hard not to think about what that hard crusty bit clingy to her fur might be. Navi didn't have very much experience with cats. Grendal, for the most part, was the only one she had any contact with, and he came and went as he pleased. However, she had to assume the majority were more like him, and less like the one she was currently carrying. This little bundle of magic seemed to be 100% certifiably nuts.

"You're unique, you know that?" Another chuckle followed, and she turned down a side street before heading towards a wall of shrubbery. "Ready to see your handy work?"

Lyssa purred deeply as she felt Navi's friendly hands grasp round her middle and then finally against her chest where she snuggled happily into her armpit, one paw patting against her shoulders as she bounced along with Navi, not that the dark Senshi was bouncing but Lyssa felt that it was right that this is how humans travelled. They bounced!!

"UniQue? Noo I paY my TaXes." She nodded seriously as she pointed out her amazing credit history to Navi as they walked to the mysterious destination. When they came to a halt Lyssa's looked up expectantly to the Senshi, eagerly awaiting to see what happened and if her thought that she would sprout wings would finally come to pass.

"I havE No Hands! PaWs I saY! PAwS!!"

The wall of shrubs Navi was striding towards looked like any other tall spread of greenery within the city. A thicket of green stuff in front of what was probably an ugly wall. That was exactly what it was, but Navi was moving quickly towards it as if she expected the damn thing to simply part for her to walk through it. Of course no such thing happened. Instead, as they moved swiftly through the rough brush of branches and leaves, Navi stepped up and into a mirror, taking the both of them into mirror space.

She didn't linger though, and instead headed for another wall of reflective glass across from them, features mirrored back at her as she grew closer. An excited grin was stretched along pale, pink lips.

It was as she was stepping through the second mirror that she felt the real change. Instantaneous and large, the very power she felt when the heel of her boot met the concrete hit her with a heady rush and she let out wavering, giddy giggle as she emerged from the mirror completely, Cat in hand.

Eternal Sailor Navi stood in the barren alley on the complete opposite side of town. She turned, Staring at herself in the mirror she'd just walked out of, lips half parted as she took in the edge of thrones that graced her brow and the seep of feathers that arched from her hips. It was a stunning transformation. So very similar, but so different.

The cat in her arms was given an almost absent squeeze, "Thank you."

For once in her life Lyssa was hit with a sudden wave of calmness, like a break in the wind her mind was clear and peaceful and she snuggled into the new heat Sailor Navi gave off, the powerful aura.

"Hmmm, your welcome" She whispered back, her body vibrating once again with purrs as the clouds of madness descended again and she began to vibrate, her paw suddenly flashing out around Navi's waist to get at the feathers that look bloody delicious.

"ShinY SEnshi, Were YoU geT thESe, Top DOLlar fOr sUre, althOugH i Cant bE suRe, UnlEss I aM tHe SHorE wHicH is ALways RiGht, BuT noT aBout SpliTtiNg ThE BiLL, Two THirDs NevER Make A GooD BœUf BoUrgUiGnon, YoU DO KnoW ThaT Don'T You SEnShi?" She had wiggled herself up to Navi's chest either paw lay either side of her neck and her eyes were boring into hers, their noises touching as Lyssa nodded slowly, ever so slowly.

And then she was gone.

Or in actual fact flung herself outwards using Navi's bottom lip as a springing board as she jumped onto the gutting of the building beside them, her body slinking up the drain pipe as she escaped like some furry worm, her words of course ringing out into the night. "BœUf BoUrgUiGnon!!!!"
