 Rouge couldn't believe her misfortune these past two days; there was not a soul in sight. The vixen thrived via her dependency on others, but with no one around she had been hunting and finding shelter and water all on her own! Sure, she was capable, but what a hassle! Life was much easier when easily flattered males [and the occasional female] were around to 'help out the poor vixen.' New to the area, surprisingly charming, and undoubtedly eye-catching, Rouge's little 'act' worked every time. Not that it mattered when there were simply no foxes about to fall for her! 'Absolutely ridiculous,' Rouge thought to herself as she approached a cave she had found on her own, out of necessity, as a potential resting place for the next few hours. Her glowing eyes examined the area - it was small and empty, and yet again she would be sleeping there alone. Rouge wasn't a huge fan of sleeping alone. By the end of the next day, Rouge had determined to find someone, anyone, just to be in their company. But for right now, there was nothing to do about it. It was dark and, judging by the clouds, about to rain. Rouge settled herself against the back of the cave, curling up. She couldn't really sleep, though, a problem she had every night that she wasn't with someone. While attempting to drift off to sleep, Rouge fixed her glowing red eyes on a point beyond the entrance of the cave, watching the outside idly as the rain finally began to fall.

 He had finally found a cave, all to himself, and now he lost it.
Nessus was close to just bursting out into heated curses, his temper reaching its peak, and quickly. It was raining. He was sick and tired of flying around in circles looking for his cave, and by the time rain had drenched him and almost sent his flames into oblivion he almost stopped giving a s**t about the fact he even had a cave. He'd just go and find a different one to sleep in then go back to find his. RIght now he was in danger of being drenched in water, and everyone who knew Nessus knew he hated being wet. He could still remember the days his brother went to bathe and had to drag him to water, dealing with snarls and growls and curses that a kit shouldn't even know at that age.
It didn't help that his scarf was choking his neck, heavy from the rain. His temper was spiraling out of control as he landed roughly on the ground, tail flicking, a vain attempt to flick water off. He could see a cave ahead, not really paying mind to the fact one could also see flames if they looked close enough. Without thinking, he made his way over, hoping under his breath Barbas wouldn't be in there as he slid inside and flopped down with a low grunt. It took all of five seconds to notice flames that were not his own within the cave, and another five to say something as rude as possible.
"Who the ******** are you?" There was a reason he had no friends.

Rouge had spotted the 'Daeva the second he landed near the mouth of her cave. Her ear twitched in curiosity, and she lifted her head up off of her paws. By now the white 'Daeva had entered the cave and made a place for himself in front of her. He said nothing to her. Perhaps he hadn't noticed? But then, one would literally have to be blind.
Finally, he addressed her. Rouge grinned. "Must be a record," she said, ignoring his very hostile question for the time being. "It took you all of ten seconds for you to realize I was here. Normally foxes can't help but notice me. Perhaps I'm losing my touch."
Rouge took a moment to observe the other fox. "It can't feel very nice, being so wet," she said, her voice softer. Rouge inched forward slightly, her paw reaching for the black scarf around his neck. "You should take this off. It can't be comfortable for you."

The hell? She didn't answer him, not at all! He was going to snort back and snarl that she was hardly anything for anyone to marvel at when suddenly she moved closer. His wings twitched, violently, and he jerked his head away so her paw barely missed the scarf, tail lashing in response.
"Don't touch me." He snipped back, hostile as always. He had stood up by now, annoyed that the woman had made him move from his spot. An eyebrow raised, noting her flames. "And I'm not a normal fox. Now answer the damn question, who are you?"
Ah, it was clear he was not used to someone simply avoiding his questions, unless you include Barbas. Ugh. Barbas. He was hardly a fox in Nessus' eyes! That infuriating b*****d...

Rouge refused to be deterred by his rudeness. "Well, you're a tad rough around the edges, aren't you?" She asked rhetorically, purposefully ignoring his question. She wasn't one to indulge such needless aggression. But she was one to be amused by it. She took a step away from the other 'Daeva and sat facing him.
"And what difference would it make," she began, fully expecting her words to fuel her unwilling companion's anger, "if you knew who I was? Suppose I answer your question. If I told you my name, the identities of my parents, the forest from which I originate, those facts would mean nothing to you.
"Who I am, the important part of who I am, is what you should already know about me. I'm merely a lonely 'Daeva, seeking shelter from the storm."
