Kujo was busy translating the Unown script they'd found in the new site near Mahogany. It had been a very exciting discovery and the Unown script had been encoded of all things. As one of the more patient people who'd been volunteering at the dig, he'd been tasked with translating the script which was a tedious but doable task with the charts he'd been given. However it was getting weird.

He didn't call over his supervisor though, Dr. Tenebrae had specifically asked not to be bothered while he was working on his new invention. Something about a modification to the machine that made new pokemon out of the DNA found in fossils.

The text was getting weirder and Kujo wasn't sure if he was translating it correctly. his notes on the script sounded like, well, a ridiculous amount of cliches before it got realllllllyyy specific about things. "The evil shall rise anew... Legends shall lend their power and guidance to the chosen to combat those which seek forbidden paths... humans to Pokemon (Untranslatable stuff) ... They which the legends choose must come to the land 'Gae ah' (Gai na? Man, name pictograms were harder to translate sometimes. Gaia?)

It got weirder as Kujo scribbled and he could almost imagine ominous noises for dramatic background now. There was a bunch of stuff in here that was name pictograms for pronunciation, was that a Snasha? Snashes? The final part was what really got him. "The warning to the future reader of the prophecy laid out here, we salute you and are very sorry for what is about to happen to you. Do not fear, the headache will only last for a day and you will eventually be rescued."

"What." Kujo said before busting out laughing. He had to tell the Dr. Tenebrae about this, never mind the project because this was the best prank ever. His nidoking followed him to the door then stopped to stare at it with the feeling something was very wrong. "Hey, Dr.! Take a look at this. The dig team really had me going and, uh, oh." Richter the Nidoking snarled and took up a fighting stance while Dr. Tenebrae turned with an evil glare. "Perfect. You can help with the testing now."

There was two master balls sitting in some machine and Tenebrae was holding a third. there were a number of people wearing uniforms standing at attention as well. "Kujo! Always the diligent worker. You shall be given the honor of witnessing the rise of Team Gamma!"

"What?"

"We shall eradicate those who refuse to join! With all the weak purged from the face of the earth only the strong will remain and the earth will be better for it! A world for the Pokemon! Their fullest potential will no longer be restricted by humanity!"

"If this isn't a prank you're insane!" Kujo cried and tried to back out of the door to run and alert the authorities that someone had utterly lost their sanity but found it blocked by more team members. Richter charged and ended up doing battle with a Tangela.

"Ah. Shame. Let m know when you have changed your mind but since you did such great work on the dig, I will still show you what I mean." Tenebrae motioned for the minions to stand back in preparation for a triple battle. "Face the power of Team Gamma boy!" He called and released the contents of the master balls; Zapdos, Moltres, ad Articuno were a terrifying sight and took out Kujo's team quickly. A Parasect used spore to knock him out and the last thing Kujo heard was their chanting a motto of some sort.


Kujo, as the scroll predicted, woke up with a massive headache. It didn't help that he'd been tied up to a chair and gagged. He cast his eyes around and noticed he was back at his desk where he'd been working. My captors have a weird sense of humor. the young man mused. A scientist was working at another desk.

Now what? Kujo looked around his surroundings and plotted an escape. Preferably with that script he'd been translating which was now in the hands of the evil scientist at the table. Unfortunately the scientist had heard Kujo waking up. At least he was learning more about the evil plans now since monologues are required.
"Oh, hello! You know, you should join us you know, earn Dr. Tenebrae's trust, you could be a leader! You got through this stuff really quickly even with just the simple stuff you did! If you don't reconsider..." There was an evil smile from the man. Oddly enough, the text on the scroll seemed to read something different now, there was a part there that wasn't there before and-hey, his notebook had something different written in it too! It was just a standard creation myth now!

Kujo wondered how weird this was going to get. It looked like one of the letters of the Unkown script closed an eye in a wink.

Kujo befriended the Pokemon (Unidentified) in the cage next to him after he'd been moved to a more permanent imprisonment option. The suspicious Dr. Tenebrae had interrogated him about the script over and over but Kujo refused to tell him anything more than the creation story thing. The scroll had a tendency to rewrite itself for Kujo and had something in mind for him as far as he could figure it out. He was supposed to seek people and really would have said no had it not told him that Nancy, his sister, would be on the list.

Oh, yes, this was further complicated by the evil organization bringing in more important artifacts meant to draw legendary Pokemon out of hiding. Tenebrae was working on a machine that turned people into Pokemon though Kujo doubted that would succeed. (It depended entirely on the guild captain's approval of that idea.)

Sadly, Kujo had no idea where they had taken his Pokemon. The volunteer archaeologist escaped into the night following the directions on the scroll and the Pokemon cheerfully enjoying freedom. First stop: Gaia Town.

Kujo's Notes:
I might as well write down some thoughts so the psychiatrist has something to work with. The scroll keeps changing. It was giving me advice on how to play solitaire when I was in the cell yesterday. It didn't know the rules. It's telling me to go to Gaia Town first and I'm going in disguise. Team Gamma will be after me and the one officer I talked to didn't believe me.

That was inaccurate, he was actually a spy for Dr. Tenebrae. Tenebrae was very suspicious about the scroll and I think he is going to do whatever he can to stop me. He's not stupid too, he accused me of stealing artifacts and got a warrant out then revised that to say I was mentally ill. Probably not far off there because I'm LISTENING to a STUPID SCROLL.

Oh hey, it's insulting my nose now. Named the pokemon following me Zircon. I think it's a bug type of some sort.
