She hadn't been patrolling. That would have been against the team rules and she knew it.
However, opportunities like this were hard to pass by.
It wasn't everyday she saw the guy responsible for getting her into space in the city. He was a rarity. She hadn't been wandering about as Sailor Iris, but once she had managed to catch sight of that odd glowing ball always attached to him, Ellie Spectre slipped out of sight and henshined up. Her energy soon enough announced her presence.
If that didn't do the trick, she soon enough did the job quite directly. The tall blonde meandered up, her bruised neck displayed almost in a manner like a medal of honor. Soon enough the eternal senshi asked the strange guide in a playful tone "So... what's a guy like you doin' in a place like this?" She gestured around her to their surroundings, as if neither one of them belonged there.

Kurma wouldn't call his excursions into the city "patrolling." If asked, he'd be hard-pressed to call it anything. Wandering was simply a part of who he was. In current times, he was merely doing it at a much -- much -- smaller scale than he was used to. Sometimes he ran into someone. A lot of the time, he didn't. If he were supposed to meet someone, he supposed, then they would arrive.
As such, it was rare for him to travel with any semblance of direction or purpose. Tonight was one of those rarities. Kallichore had given him some things to think about. Now he was actively looking for others to talk to.
Needless to say, he was pleased to run into Sailor Iris.
"Now there's a question I've been asked a few times," he replied by means of greeting. He had the subdued smile of someone with things on his mind, perhaps an oddity for someone who was normally too carefree for his own good. "What's up?"

Iris smirked at his response. "A few times t'night, or a few times in general?" It wasn't like his answer to the question would matter much.
She reached behind her, and almost as if performing some sort of magic trick with sleight of hand, she managed to produce a yellow and rainbow phone. The phone was brought out to the front into plain view for the man to see.
The blonde was very direct.
"...I need t'talk t'ya. I need some advice... and... I think yer th'only one who could give it..."
She slid the panel up and began to push buttons. "...and we ain't doin' it here... do ya need a ride, or are ya able t'meet me where I'm goin'?" The eternal senshi had long learned that sometimes the walls had ears that were very cat-ear shaped. Unfortunately, the questions she had she didn't want ********* to hear.

Advice?
It looked like there was going to be a detour... a detour to the asteroid Iris, even. He gave a knowing quirk of the brow at her phone the very moment it was summoned. The senshi had cut to the chase rather quickly.
"If you got questions, I'll do my best to help you answer them." He gave a nod, and took a couple of steps towards Iris. "Maybe you should lead the way out, though. Might end up on the other side of your place otherwise."

He received a firm nod before she closed her eyes and began to concentrate. She had done this so many times, that it really had become almost second nature to find the voice of her world. She had witnessed one of her own teammates struggle with such before. It gave her new perspective upon how close she was to the dead rock she used to call home.
The moment the familiar jovial tones of her world had found its way to her heart, she pushed the button of her phone, and soon enough she phased out from Earth.
And reappeared upon her asteroid. It was winter, which meant that the Edge received no sunlight. The dark sanded desert was cold and dark, but not intolerable. However, save for the ruined carts that littered the sandy tombs, there was nothing surrounding them for a long ways.
The senshi crossed her arms for a moment, turning to locate Kurma. She didn't say anything at first. It was hard to find the words to greet someone to the desolate and dead world that once had been her own home.

Kurma was right behind her, idly floating a few inches above the sand as he turned about to survey their surroundings. There was not much more than desert and dark and scant ruins all around him, but that didn't seem to deter him from enjoying the novelty of arriving at a new place. "So... got another destination in mind?" he asked, turning back to look at the asteroid's princess again. "Or we can just walk and talk." Not that he was specifically walking at this point in time. "Lead the way, Iris."

The tall blonde stood there for a moment, carefully considering his question. She honestly didn't need to go to the port for the conversation, but she also wouldn't have minded a change from the usual scenery. She stepped away and turned away, facing a particular direction. As she stopped, her fuku's skirt seemed to lengthen until it was touching the ground. Her tiara faded to reveal the mark of her asteroid upon her forehead. Her hair grew out and two pale wings forcefully sprouted from her shoulders.
She turned back to Kurma, then explained "It takes about an hour and a half flight in that direction to get to the Port... But it really isn't important to be in the city..."
She paused and stepped closer to him before asking the first of many questions to come.
"Tell me, how much do you know... Or rather... Remember?" Iris' wings stretched out for a moment. "How far do your memories go back.... Kurma?"

Power surged through the asteroid, and its senshi, as her form unfolded to the highest one available to her kind. Iris, the Princess. The wings and the gown were an impressive sight to be sure, but Kurma found the resonance between the two connected entities to be more impressive still. It was a beautiful harmony. He felt privileged to witness it in person. "It might not be necessary, but," he grinned, "flying's pretty fun, isn't it? Not to mention, I'd like to see more of your place." The first question of many was an interesting one, indeed. "You're asking me to measure the record of my travels with time?" Kurma asked. "That, I can't do." He shrugged, communicating that it wasn't because he would be violating any cosmic rules or vows to reveal such knowledge -- he simply didn't know. The time measurements used on any given world were arbitrary, and his journey had taken him through many worlds. "Let's just say they go back far enough. I've been around the block quite a few times. Not that everyone else hasn't, but -- you get the idea. What's on your mind?"

Her wings stretched back, as if preparing for the flight the princess had yet to agree to. "Flight would be easier if I could fly consistently.... I have to land quite often in all honesty."
Her head bobbed up and down silently as she listened to his response. Oddly she understood his position. His reassurance that he had seen was plenty to go off of, but she attempted to get a ballpark figure.
"You remember the Silver Millenium I would guess..." With a sigh she then attempted to find the right words for the next question as they rushed through her mind.
Eventually she knit her fingers with the set upon the other hand and stretched her arms out in front of her. "I take it you remember a lot of things that others do not... Right? Things that other senshi and the knights couldn't even imagine remembering?" She turned to the guide with a strange half-smile. "Am I completely wrong, Kurma?"

Kurma gave an understanding nod in response to Iris's explanation of her flight. There was no rush to take off and get moving. This was her asteroid, and her journey on it. Whatever pace she set for it would therefore be the right one.
Another moment passed before he answered her other questions. His orb was taken up in his hands, and tossed lightly in the air a few times as he thought. "The Silver Millenium?" An interesting set of words. "That's the era before this one, right?" Yes, that was it -- Astraea had referred to it as such before. So had Li'l Moon. It was the time of the mythical Serenity, and her coveted Crystal had, seemingly, made her tiny Moon the center of the universe for a time.
It was also when he had met Alkaid. But, for the time being, that was neither here nor there.
"It's one of many eras," he confessed. It was as good an answer to Iris's question as he could have given. "But," and he touched to the ground, and took a step to the princess, "most of my story's kinda boring. I thought we were here to talk about yours?"

"I somewhat suspect the stories coming from a man with such an odd doo-dad who had a tendency to float is not nearly as boring as you think!" She let out a small laugh before stepping forward a few times, leaving a trail in the dark sand as she moved.
He pointed out how the conversation was supposed to be about her, which she waved a hand at him as if to scoff slightly. "I was getting to it... I just wanted to make sure I wasn't talking above your head."
She folded her arms before speaking up again. "I have found myself remembering many things. My parents, my childhood, my family, my friends, my duties, my world... And more importantly, my alliances, or rather, my friends." She paused for a moment, unfolding her arms so she seemed to take a more relaxed stance. "My guardian... Amazingly has found pretty much everyone..." She didn't say it yet, but there was an implication hidden in her words.

Iris's observation was met with a shrug. As for talking over his head -- that was equal parts easy and difficult to do in matters like this. Kurma was quick to be engaged, and just as quick to be distracted. It was probably a good thing that they weren't at the port, and thus away from anything that could potentially steal away his attention.
"Sounds like you got a lot to work with there," he remarked, as the princess began her story. His arms were folded as well, his orb left to sit in the sand, a more lighthearted smile gracing his features.
Again, he paused to think. A shorter delay, this time.
"Also sounds to me like you've been using your memories well. Putting your allies at the top of your list like that..." Kurma picked up his orb again, dusting off bits of sand that had snuck their way between the ball and the rope wrapped around it. "That's very wise. Same to your cat pal, as well."

At one time Iris would have never considered ********* to be anything more than an annoying cat. However, now, as she stood there as a graceful young princess, she knew the guardian was perhaps one of the most valuable pieces in her senshi life. Which led to her admitting something.
"The Mauvian, *********... I don't think she actually remembers anything... I don't know why she knew the names she did when finding our team... But she doesn't seem to remember much beyond our names."
A hint of concern touched her features. "That is what I need advice on... There are lots of things I have found my teammates do not know... But I do... They aren't small things. Important things." For a brief moment she gazed away, as if thinking of some of these key details before sighing.
"I want to tell them, Kurma, but how am I supposed to know... If I am doing the right thing?" She turned to the man, stepping close enough to firmly place a hand on his shoulder. Gold eyes looked straight into his, awaiting his council.

Princess Iris was acting quite different from how she was the last time Kurma had ran into her. Then, she'd been full of slang and snark and swear words, an utter classless tomboy. Now her voice had a meted pace, and her vocabulary was more carefully chosen. Perhaps that was part of the effect of having an entire past life vividly in the background of her mind. Or maybe it was a side effect of senshi royalty.
She had grown quite a lot in the past couple of years. She had grown well, even, as far as the man felt able to define such terms.
His own eyes, pale and calm as always, welcomed the contact. "You've come pretty far, huh?" he quipped.
"It wasn't long ago at all that you didn't even know there was such a story about you. And now you're able to wonder how much of yesterday's stories should continue today. That's something to be proud of, Iris. You're on the right track."
Kurma returned Iris's shoulder-grabbing gesture in kind. "Seems to me like you got two choices here, kiddo. You can either pick up these stories where you left off, together with your friends. Or... you can let them end here and now, and let new ones be written in their place."

Almost like a spooked bird, her wings opened up wide and flapped slightly in a startled manner upon the returned gesture. However, she eventually forced them to fold up to rest against her back. It would seem the princess was in no mood for flight today and she was finally making such visible.
Her gaze remained steady and respectful and her arm remained up so her hand remained connected with his shoulder. "The asteroid has shared so much with me. Whether or not I wanted what it had to show, it still shared with me, giving me the information I needed. Some of the memories it has shown me... were beautiful beyond words... enough to bring a person to tears..."
Especially when paired with the sight of the remains of who the memory was of.
"I know the other senshi will eventually learn more of who they were, once upon a time. They will visit their old homes in time. I think the only one who will truly suffer is ********* blonde sighed, obviously irritated with the notion the cat would be not be able to remember what she was missing. "...there is a third choice... but I don't know if it would be a good one..." There was a momentary pause before she mentioned "...to pick and choose which memories to share... and which to leave out..."
