That whole Christmas Joy business was certainly getting to everyone.

Even Sharra could not claim to remain unaffected. He was just as guilty of a romp through the snow, snowballs collected and hurled at one's fellows, and even the steaming mugs of holiday-themed beverages that his aunties had so kindly given him recipes to. However, he was now dodging mistletoe and red and green streamers in the hallways of Amityville, hanging in corners like cobwebs as though someone had draped them there in hopes that school maintenance would be too lazy to take them down until their use had expired. Carefully circumventing a suspended sprig of mistletoe, he felt almost as though it was gleaming at him maliciously, sitting there motionless with its tiny red bow.

"This is just silly..." He murmured, the Nergal boil shifting his book-bag as he stared at the decor. Suffice to say that Christmas wasn't a holiday that was usually as appreciated in his corner of Halloween. He wouldn't have minded it staying that way. And there was still the reminder of the elves and there vendetta in the gym. A Christmas curse. That was what this was.

The snow wasn't so bad though.

Blake drifted along the halls, sufficiently lost. As used to the confusing labyrinthine streets of The Collection as he was... this was altogether different. And it didn't help that he had to dodge ghouls (and some boils) trying to get all touchy-feely with him whenever there was a sprig of some weird plant hanging nearby.
He began to hum a bawdy tune unfit for civilized company which was in complete contrast to the festivities taking place around him. He almost bumped into another boil who seemed to be doing the same thing Blake was; avoiding the sprigs maliciously hanging everywhere, as if taking devilish delight in ambushing poor boils and ghouls who would much rather be left alone.
"Bugger." Blake muttered as one of the streamers decided that he needed to be adorned with the same gaudy bright colors. Last thing he needed was to look like a fool on his first "official" day at Amityville and wind up tangled in some stupid streamer.

Sharra swiftly glanced over, pointed ears catching the Nightshade's voice as he too did battle with their all-too-cheerily re-imagined school decor. "Hey hey...seems like somebody's been dipping too deep in the cider around here, huh?" It was a wry grin of sympathy at the darker boil, reaching over to grab at the offending streamer, to try to yank it out of the other's way. Acidic green claws extended ever so slightly from his fingers so that he could properly grab the thing, rendering it unobtrusive and well out of their way.

"Are you new around here...?" It seemed as amiable a way to start a conversation as any, the Nergal making a guess that the other was a touch younger than he, if looks were telling. "I don't think I've seen you before." A sheepish smile emerged on the demon's features, "Though admittedly that means really little, I've noticed." Sharra, after all, had but recently returned from a rather extended stay with his aunts. Jack, but that trip seemed worlds away now.

"Erm... I guess..?" Blake wasn't entirely certain what the acidic green and black boil was talking about. Slipping out of the gaudy garlands, which seemed to sulk as soon as he was free of their sickeningly cheerful embrace, he slid up against the wall and tried his best to hide in the shadows. Can't catch what you can't see, right? "An' aye, I'm new. Th' name's Blake." He said, introducing himself, since he'd heard that was the "proper" thing to do for folks with "manners". Of course, he forgot to thank the boil for getting him out of the rather cumbersome, and potentially embarrassing, situation with the garlands.

Heh. It would seem that this student came from a bit of a rougher patch of the world. Not that Sharra minded, it was merely something to take note of, tilting his head to the side and blinking with mild curiosity as Blake seemed to all but meld into the walls. "Nice trick, that." the Nergal pointed out, flicking a claw towards the shadows that now seemed to be half wall and half Nightshade. "I've nothing so slick." And he'd been in a few scrapes where such a thing would have been damnedly useful.

A smile was still planted firmly on the demon's features as the other student introduced himself, and Sharra offered one clawed hand in response, "Blake? Good to meet you. I'm Sharra." There was a flash of fang as the blond made a low sound of amusement. "Just took my exams, so I'm a second year...never seen the place like this though. Must be soooome first impression for ya. Joy and merriment aside, how are you liking the place?" Best to ask the more general questions first, after all, then they could really get the conversation rolling, as, admittedly, the Nergal demon's curiosity concerning the nature of his new acquaintance, was getting the better of him.

Blake eyed the boil closer, especially the clawed hand... arm... thing. "It 'as its uses... Wut are ya?" He asked bluntly, after slinking out of the shadows. He was reluctant to leave the welcoming darkness, but he sensed Sharra was... trustworthy enough. "En't seen much o' th' place. Bunks ain't bad, though. En't ne'er seen a buncha trees a'fore... Guess I kinda like th' woods." Warily holding out his own hand, Blake grasped Sharra's firmly. "Take it ya know th' best spots then, aye?"
