What's it like being gay? What's it like dating a guy? What's it like? What's it like? Seriously, it's all I truely know! I can't compare it to anything, so how can I tell someone what it's like? It's like me asking a guy "what's it like being straight?" I'm sick of it, just needed to rant. cat_neutral

I can understand that it must be tiresome to answer the same questions over and over, but isn't it a good thing that these people are making an effort to understand? A lot of the homophobia and discrimination the LGBT community faces stems from ignorance, so even if you don't know how to answer the questions, I would still say it's encouraging that they're even being asked. 3nodding

I mean, I'm glad they are taking an interest and not instantly discriminating, but it's always the questions I can't answer that they ask. I have no... as they say... "normal" love to compare mine too to answer them. I'm fine being asked questions about it, as long as I can answer them.

I feel bad now, because I would be one of those people that goes "What's it like being gay?" I'm straight, and I cannot fathom why girls would be attracted to other girls. I can maybe understand why guys like other guys, because guys are awesome, though the mechanics of sex with the same gender elude me...

Like the person above me said, its good that they are asking no matter how annoying it must get. I know a lot of people who as soon as they hear that someone is gay they act like they are disgusted by them. I always get irritated when my friends ask me for relationship help when I'm the only one who's never had a good relationship. It bugs me.

Well, at least you're getting it out in a non negative way, little cuz. I've always been afraid you will hold all your anger in and it would break loose randomly like I did. I'm guessing that it's not the fact you're being questioned about being gay, but the fact you can't give a satisfactory answer to the people who ask it. I feel the same when people ask me "what's it like being a triplet?" It frustrates me because I have no idea what being part of any other kind of sibling hood is like. People are never satisfied with my answer because I can't compare, and I know you well enough to know that bothers you as well. You've never loved a girl, so you can't compare loving a guy to loving a girl.
