It was true- sometimes Anming could be so disorganized, that it wouldn't have been a surprise that she had forgotten to do her holiday shopping until practically the last minute. To some extent, it was pretty spot on of an assumption- Anming had realized belatedly that she hadn't finished shopping for everyone on her list, small as it was. On top of that, she had accidentally melted part of one of her mixing bowls the other day, and she had run low on ingredients for cookies as well. And, so, here Anming was, with only a few days to go, looking to get what she needed so she could move on. ... It wouldn't hurt to stop to admire the pretty glass butterfly a vendor kiosk had on display, would it? Anming always loved collecting things like that. Too bad her money was supposed to be going towards gifts, though.

Arian for his part was out and about as well. Although the dark-haired teen had done some of his Christmas shopping, there were still a few last minute Christmas gifts that he needed to pick up before he made the trip down with his cousin over to his Uncle’s place, as well as pick up some more wrapping paper as the last of Saffy’s hoarded stock had run out last night. Arian was cutting it a bit fine and he knew it – they were leaving tomorrow and he still hadn’t finished packing, but he’d been hoping to pick up the last of his gifts pretty quickly so that he could go home, get the last of the gifts wrapped up and then (finally) finish packing – too bad that it felt like almost the whole of Destiny City were also out last minute Christmas shopping. He’d ended up stopping by a set of kiosks, hoping that the vendors might have something to pick up, when he spotted a (for some reason) familiar-looking brown-haired girl by a nearby kiosk selling pretty glass butterfly ornaments. “Anming?” It took a few moments to place her, but Arian eventually remembered that the girl went to the same school as him – at least he was pretty sure she was – it would be pretty embarrassing if it turned out to be not the case.

The sound of someone calling her name caught Anming's attention, and she turned, only to promptly frown in confusion as she tried to place a name to the face. She had seen him before, yes, hadn't she? So, what was his name again...? After about a minute or two (though it seemed like an eternity), it came back to her. Oh, that was right, he went to Meadowview, didn't he? Anming really needed to get to know people better that weren't just relatives and family friends. "Ah, that's me," Anming confirmed, giving a small nod. "You're... Arian, right?"

Arian nodded at Anming’s response “That’s right. Are you out Christmas shopping too?” Despite the fact that they both went to the same school he didn’t really know much about the brown-haired girl, apart from the fact that she was one of Gwen’s friends – at least he thought she was one of Gwen’s friends – they’d been together that day when he’d been running late and that youma had attacked them. He glanced at the glass butterflies decorating the kiosk, absently noting that they looked just as pretty closer up, although they probably weren’t really the sort of thing that the people he was looking for presents for would go for.

"Sort of," Anming confessed, looking sheepish, "I have a few gifts I still need to buy, that I forgot to earlier." She really needed to become better organized in the future, she knew, but it was easy enough to lose track of time. One thing leads to another, and before you know it, a whole day has passed... without having made any progress. Well, at least Anming was productive enough to where that she was still... being productive during that time. Even if she wasn't actually doing what she set out to do. "I, um... also need to get new mixing bowls," she continued, looking embarrassed to admit that, "I... accidentally melted one of mine." "What about you?" Anming asked Arian, curious, "Does that mean you're shopping as well?" That was probably obvious, but it never hurt to ask.

Arian gave Anming a sympathetic look at the mention of what had happened to her mixing bowl “I hope you manage to find a good replacement one.” He nodded as Anming asked about shopping, giving her a rueful smile “Yes, unfortunately.” Shopping this close to Christmas wasn’t the dark-haired teen’s idea of fun. “I’m going to be visiting relatives for Christmas and still have a few presents left to pick up before I go. I have to pick up wrapping paper too since we’re all out at home, but it feels pretty crazy – practically everyone out here just seems so busy.”

"Thank you," Anming said, "I'll probably buy metal ones this time... they're a little more costly than I'd like, but at least they'll last longer." She hoped, anyway. Listening to Arian's reply, she nodded, looking around at the crowds. "It is pretty busy..." she agreed, "I hope you find everything you're looking for." litian sorry for the late replyyyyy

“Thank you” Arian said. “I hope so too.” He admitted his voice as rueful as his smile. “I should have probably come out earlier, but I kind of got distracted over making my cousin’s present.” He’d decided on a bracelet for Saffy this year – a wire-wrapped moonstone bracelet with a leaf printed on a silver coin hanging off it but it had taken a few late nights to finish up. “I’m hoping she’ll like how it turned out.” Glancing at the butterfly ornaments again, Arian thought it shame that it wasn't the sort of thing that his relatives that he still needed to buy presents for would go for given how pretty they were. Looking back at Anming he added “I hope you managed to find everything you need too. And a metal mixing bowl sounds good – at least it won’t melt like plastic or smash like ceramic.” Arian had done that with one of his cousin’s once by accidentally knocking it off the counter in her admittedly very small kitchen. “I hope you find a good one.”
