Reiko sighed, wandering farther and farther from where her family was. She loved her family, but sometimes she just didn't want to be around Azrien who shared her colors. And the quiet was nice. These little adventures of hers were usually uneventful, but they were fun in their own way. Maybe she'd make a friend today. It would be nice to have someone to talk to that wasn't related to her.

Reiko blinked when she saw a flash of purple mane. She almost turned around and went the other way, not wanting to meet a sibling at the moment. But then she realized that it wasn't the same purple of her brothers and sisters. This purple almost looked... pink. So she walked closer, her eyes falling on the cream-colored colt that the purplish mane belonged to. Reiko inspected him quietly. His colors and markings were much different from hers. Besides the purple in her own mane, she had very earthy tones. This foal's, however, were... different. She wasn't sure how to describe them. Flowery, maybe? And yet it didn't look feminine on him... How curious.

Reiko watched him give a few back kicks to the air and then whip around to face her. Oh. He'd spotted her. "Hello," she greeted politely, her own voice a little deeper than the other fillies her age. Well, it was a small dilemma that she couldn't solve. "My name is Reiko. Who are you?" His eyes were gold. Gold! They were so vibrant and... well, shiny.

Reiko smiled slightly. "It's nice to meet you, Brise." Maybe he could be the friend she'd been lacking. The thought was an exciting one, but it didn't show on her face. It was probably a bad habit to give herself, but with how stressed her father had been since her mother's death--pretty much her whole life--she didn't want to give him more to worry about. The filly would be fine; she figured things out eventually... "What were you doing?" she inquired, curious. There was a reason he'd been kicking the air, hadn't there?

"I see." Reiko thought about that. "You could also practice dodging," she suggested. His siblings couldn't beat him if they couldn't hit him. At Brise's question, she nodded. "I have a lot of siblings. Most of them are a lot older than me, though. At least two of them have kids of their own." The filly was relieved that her family was spread out across the isle; if they were all in one place, she would've surely suffocated by now. It was hard enough just dealing with her twins. Reiko absently pawed the ground with her hoof. "How many siblings do you have?" Probably a lot less than her.

Reiko blinked, then smiled. "It sounds like your family's just as large as mine. Though yours sounds kinda complicated... I have four siblings my age. There's my sisters Tekashi and Savenia, and my brothers Isolde and Epitome. We also have five older brothers and two older sisters... and at least seven nieces and nephews." She tilted her head slightly. "It's a little strange calling them that, though, since they're older than us... they feel more like cousins. There could be more of them, but I'm not sure... my siblings are spread out across the isle." She felt another smile form on her face, this time without even thinking about it. "I guess we both come from big families."

Reiko couldn't stop the giggles from bubbling out. "I understand the feeling! Even with only the siblings my age, it can be a handful." Should she really tell him that? Her composure was slipping a little. She wasn't used to being this open with her family... it was actually quite relieving. "It sounds interesting. I've never met humans before. What are they like?" She was raised in the south, after all; there weren't two-leggers down there.

Reiko pawed the ground, as was her habit to do when nervous or uncomfortable. She managed to keep her composure enough to keep eye contact, though. She listened intently to Brise's words. "Treats?" She sort of understood. When they had a special food to eat, her older siblings called it a treat. Was it the same? And then he mentioned games. Her ears perked up. "What kind of games?" She liked games--more than her siblings would know. Being the peacemaker among such wild and vibrant siblings was hard...
