It was nice getting some fresh air. As good as the Negaspace was for thinking and trying to clear the numerous thoughts racing through her head, there was something suffocating about it. Sailor Eos wasn't claustrophobic at all, but there was something to appreciate about the feeling of inhaling the crisp, cool winter air as she jumped from roof to roof in one of the more well-lit areas of town. She was near to the centre, where only a couple of hours before there had been crowds and crowds of people fighting through the chill to secure those precious last minute Christmas gifts. Christmas. It'd be interesting to see how that turned out this year. Shivering, though she wasn't cold, the blonde neatly jumped down to street level, glancing around. Street lamps were placed every few feet along the street, almost like a landing strip for a very tiny aircraft. Eos didn't recognise this area of town - she'd decided to branch out, try exploring a little more. She was naturally curious, and she'd heard that there was a neat little park around here somewhere. Now she just had to find it.

Zircon had always considered her time powered up as a release from the mundane, a journey into a bitter fight for her own planet, where despite magics and forces she could never understand, she had been given a voice, a weapon, and a platform from which she could defend her world from strange invaders. The power was addictive, as was the sense of belonging, and some nights Zircon fled to the dark world just for a taste of escape.
It was about all she could do, now that they weren't collecting starseeds or much energy. She'd never stood a chance against Senshi or Knights, despite her many efforts, so she couldn't exactly hunt them down, either. And so she stalked the streets of Destiny City that evening, taking in the bite of the winter air as she bounded from rooftop to rooftop, taking in the feeling of being alive.
And there it was, the inevitable blip of another aura nearby. Lieutenant Zircon slowed her pace, stopping on a ledge and closing her eyes to feel out the area around her. It was a single aura, washed with the warmth of Chaos, and yet...underneath it all was the tattered sickly feeling of one of the Turned Senshi. Zircon's eyes narrowed. She never trusted the idea that these magical space witches could be truly converted, and she was always wary of their true intentions. She couldn't let one just wander alone around Destiny City--who knows what sort of havoc it would wreak? With a sharp inhale, she focused on the direction of the aura, and then she was sprinting again, her target close.
"It's cold out," Zircon began, jumping down from one of the nearby rooftops about twenty feet away from the girl. The lieutenant didn't recognize this one, but that wasn't all that uncommon: with their growing ranks, it was hard to know everyone, especially from groups you tried to avoid. She gave the senshi a critical look, as if searching for some weakness. "Shouldn't you have some sort of escort? I'm sure the higher-ups wouldn't want you falling in the wrong hands."

She'd felt the presence of another Chaos officer, but the lieutenant was moving so fast that the blonde senshi still jumped in surprise when Zircon suddenly landed just down the street. Eos wasn't sure whether to be wary - Zinkenite had seemed worried about some of his own recruits, but so far everyone she'd met had been nothing but warm, welcoming and friendly. Still, she supposed it wouldn't do to let her guard down. If there was something Labyrinthite had taught her, that would be it. Falling into the wrong hands? Sailor Eos frowned, somewhat confused. Whilst the older woman spoke politely, there was a certain edge in her voice that the corrupted senshi couldn't quite pinpoint. Malice? Amusement? It certainly wasn't genuine concern over the fact that she was out alone. "It's not that cold," the blonde retorted with a small shrug, "My officer is preoccupied." She made a point of remaining polite, as the other had done, but didn't exactly exude information. Surely it was none of her business where Labyrinthite was? Besides, she'd been training and hiding for months now - she wanted to start fighting back, and get out there on the front line to get down and dirty and do some real good in this war. "I can assure you I won't be falling into the wrong hands - I won't be repeating the mistakes I made in the past." Not wanting this to turn too sour, the blonde tried to diffuse the situation with a small smile and an extended hand as she approached the lieutenant, "I'm Sailor Eos."

Zircon eyed the hand warily, as if it might sting her if she were to touch it. After a moment's thought, though, she reluctantly stepped closer and returned the gesture, shaking the senshi's hand stiffly. "Lieutenant Zircon," she responded with a slow nod of her head.
"I thought all of our senshi were supposed to have escorts? It's for your own safety, you know." Regardless of what they said, Zircon still thought that the turned senshi were one step away from being re-purified. Chaos didn't sit well with them: it scarred them, cracked their bodies, minds, and souls, and such an unstable force was an unwelcome mix to the structure of the Negaverse.
"Tell me, Sailor Eos, do you honestly think you could fight off an Eternal Sailor if she snatched you away? A Knight? There's safety in numbers, every agent of the Negaverse knows this." She watched for Sailor Eos's reaction, testing the waters. Her enmity with the scouts was, of course, deeper seated than some light interrogations, but Zircon knew better than to start flinging accusations at someone who could wield strange magic. Patience was the key here: if Zinkenite had taught her anything, it was that anyone would crumble under the right stimuli.

Eos was quite unnerved by this lieutenant - though they were the same power level she was fairly sure that the older woman would have the upper hand if she suddenly decided to spring an attack. She seemed wary and jumpy, and the blonde didn't know why - she'd given the woman no reason to think she was a threat, surely? "Pleased to meet you, Zircon." She made an effort to give a good handshake - a limp hand was never pleasant - but frowned when escorts were mentioned. She'd just stated that she had an officer, surely? Or did the lieutenant mean right at this moment? "I've been with Chaos for a few months now - my officer is happy with me taking slightly more responsibility in my patrolling." Happy probably wasn't the word Labyrinthite would use, but then she'd been avoiding him for a while now and didn't really want to see him. Still, she couldn't quite bring herself to ask Zinkenite for another officer - not after all Chase had done for her. Zircon was a strange woman, and her gaze made the corrupt senshi uncomfortable. Her tone was almost accusatory, but still polite, and Eos felt like she was a worm squirming under a microscope - it wasn't at all a pleasant feeling. "No, I never said I could," she responded a little snappily, catching herself and correcting her tone to sound a little less like a defensive child. "I never said I was confident in my fighting abilities - but I am confident in my judgement, and unless I was sure of victory I have no qualms with retreating." She tucked a long lock of hair behind her ear, wanting something to do with her fingers rather than just twiddling her thumbs. Eos was finding it difficult to keep Zircon's gaze, and she was obviously feeling decidedly unseated by the interrogation. "It's been made clear to me that I'm in a gifted position - most senshi are more occupied with questioning me and telling me that I'm wrong. I can use this to my advantage to garner information, rather than pummel them into dust."
