[OOC: This is placed very shortly after Bezzi wakes up, and Maia and Pandora have safely gotten distance.

Also, the first four paragraphs are just inner-IC contemplative stuff, so skip them to get to the action-relevant portions!]

The human, the civilian, Liberty Marie Reever had always considered herself a religious person. She was hardly the best, and she hardly agreed with a great majority of factions, but there were very distinctive principles which she agreed with. More than anything, she did it because her family had, and always felt a bit of shame whenever she stepped outside those bounds.

Magic, by principle, was the more evil of the two factions. Practicing it, far worse. Yet, her scientific mind had never put much faith in magic at all. It was a non-issue until the White Moon Court. Church gave her community, a purpose, and put her with people that acted good, motioned to be good, and Liberty tried to abide by that.

Doubt has a way of destroying things, changing things. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes not. And it was tonight that Pandora saw how much weakness there was in following someone else's creed - the moment it broke down, the moment it failed you, the temptation rushed in. If religion was a lie, did it matter if she abided by its rules? She no longer had to be good, and it no longer constructed the necessary path. It was a terrifying, lonely thought.

In blind Faith, maybe the Senshi were no different.

-

Pandora was taking in deep breaths. Her legs were a little bit shaky. Maia had been hard to keep up with and Pandora had a sneaking feeling the Eternal had been slowing down for her.

The project, and the action had given her some time to work off the stress in her blood. Now, breathing hard, her head was finally beginning to clear. It helped that she no longer had to look at a bruised face.

They'd found themselves well into the other side of town, and Pandora felt no other energies. Perhaps Eternal senshi could feel them at a longer distance; Pandora didn't know, and it was the last question on her mind.

"The database didn't explain what a starseed was," she said immediately as her mind started to cool. Something you didn't want removed. Something that granted you power. But what was it? What was anything.

Maia had been moving quickly, but she didn't know if Benitoite had been to the area that Bazzite and he could teleport so she needed to get away as quickly as possible. It was that she could feel Senshi at a greater distance so much as she could be felt a greater distance and that was a danger to Pandora. Pandora could be felt at the same distances Maia could. Not only that the same could be said for Beni. If she couldn't feel him, he couldn't feel her.

She stopped only slightly out a breath from the escape and turned to Pandora. She was a bit surprised by the statement that came out of her mouth. Her phone was in her hand and an instant and she was re-skimming the primer only to find Pandora was right. Although starseeds were mentioned twice, there was no real explanation as to what they were.

She nodded and looked to Pandora. "I'm sorry," she said softly, "this shouldn't have ever happened to you. I should have given you a proper warning."

She straightened up, "your starseed is like you life force, somewhat I think like a soul. The negaversers have the ability to rip them from a person body and without it you die. It's different for us though, they can choose to corrupt us. They change us with chaos and make us into their soldier of a sort. I'm not sure how this effects a person, exactly, but they don't seem to really remember before totally, I will have to ask my guardian cat. She will probably know more than me."

"I want to give you the senshi low down at some point this week. I ... the senshi primer is amazing, but it's ... it's obviously not enough." Maia looked really remorseful, feeling slightly at fault.

"I don't. . . " There was the bile in her throat again. So much for a clear head and fresh air. "Stop. Don't apologize."

It felt terribly uncomfortable to hear those words come out of someone else's mouth. Pandora could not place why, and did not care to be soul-searching, but she knew she didn't want to make eye contact with Maia in the same way she could no longer make it with Bazzite. At the very least, the anger had subsided into a numbness.

"Do I not have a heart anymore?"

Something about the idea of it made Pandora the most uncomfortable of all. It was as if that bloody, beating thing at in her chest represented all that was human. If now she had a starseed. . . Pandora's hand went to her chest, quietly searching for a heartbeat.

It was, however, a mostly rhetorical question, and Pandora rushed passed it with fervor. "When?" Then, realizing she would not be understood this way, Pandora added, "When this week?"

Maia nodded and sighed lightly. She felt bad, but apologizing couldn't fix what had happened and Maia knew it was more than just the starseed thing. She remembered beating the crap out of Mica and how bad she felt and how she cried after. Pandora had really gotten into a doozy of a situation.

Maia gave a soft smile, trying to not to giggle at the question. She answered even though it was one of those questions that wasn't asked with the intention of getting an answer. "It doesn't quite word like that. Everything should be in working order. He didn't actually get to keep your starseed or corrupt it."

She thought on her schedule for the next few days before she went to Paris with Alex and Johnny and figured one of the next two nights would really be best. "Tomorrow would be best, or the next day. I am going overseas for the holiday on the 21st and I will not be back until the 3rd. I'll introduce you to my brother too, in case you need a hand. He's a knight and a doctor."

She went to sit down, not feeling any danger near by and patted the spot next to her. "I asked before, but Im going to ask again. Are you sure you are quite alright?"

Corrupt.

Pandora's skin practically crawled just thinking about it. That, she had read over several times in the guide. It was an impossible thing to understand--that someone could reach inside your soul and simply change you. The stubborn side of her thought that even if she was corrupted, she'd be able to stand strong. The logical side of her was terrified, for it knew it would not stand a chance.

"My classes end at five, tomorrow." The words fell from her tongue automatically, her subconscious taking over where her conscious could not. "Let's. . . meet at six." Later, she'd regret this hasty time turnover as she'd be hungry and tired, but it wasn't on her mind at the time.

"I'll--" Pandora shook her head and ground her teeth. "I'll be just fine." No, she wasn't alright, but that wasn't something she could explain, and she didn't think she could fix it. Maia was allowed to be worried over her; she could make it work. She would make it work.

"I'll see you tomorrow, right?" In her absence of mind, she completely forgot to ask for directions and an address.

Maia nodded as Pandora spoke, quickly running over her plans for the week and making sure six was a good time for her. Even if it hadnt been she would have pushed things around, but she was relieved that everything was good for six the next day.

Maia sighed feeling terrible knowing Pandora wasn't okay no matter how much she proclaimed she was, but she couldn't force the girl to talk. She could only be there as much as she could be and hope everything got sorted out. She felt Pandora was strong and Maia intended to give her time to come around, before the worry wart in her her decided to push the issue.

"Woah Pandora, slow down," she said reaching out to grab Pandora and keep her from leaving. "You need my phone number and my address as well. Six isn't exactly a good time to try powering up. Dark yes, but to many people still out and about."

Maia looked around, then, let her fuku fade away, revealing herself, and not really to worried about it. She felt before she powered down that they were alone. She grabbed her phone out of her hoodie pocket and went about unlocking it. "Give me you're number and I can text you all the information."

Now wasn't exactly a good time to be powering down was Pandora's overwhelming thought.

She stood there, dry mouthed, staring at the girl that now stood in front of her. Though her mind had seen the transition, it was almost impossible to associate the two people. It was as if a stranger had suddenly come into existence.

They looked nothing alike. Yet, as she tried to compare the face of the Senshi and the face of the girl in her mind, she could not find a single difference. This, alone, was enough to unnerve her. Pandora bit her tongue, hard, and then took a deep breath.

"I don't want to power down right now." She wanted to wait until she was nearly at home. Walking back without this added safety unnerved her beyond reason. Destiny City didn't suddenly lose its muggers, rapists, or homeless because Order and Chaos decided to have a war. Hopefully, Maia wouldn't be skeptical of her decision.

"It's area code 57-5, 30-82-34. I, uh, my actual name is Liberty." Pandora fumbled with her tongue. "Liberty Marie Reever."

Crossing her order life and her private life felt wrong to her, but if she could not trust Maia, someone who had come at a single call without hesitation, who could she trust?

Maia of course gave plenty of thought to who she powered down in front of, when and where, but she had been doing this much longer the Pandora and hardly expect the girl to feel as comfortable as her as quickly. She didn't plan to be in the area much longer and she trusted Pandora well enough.

"I completely understand. It takes a bit of getting use to, but after three years I found that I'd be quite a bit more lost if I didn't have friends and even family who know this secret," she said soft not knowing if Pandora would fully understand, but Maia had found it was better this way for her. "It's really all about what makes you comfortable really."

She put the number in, happy to see Pandora seemed comfortable enough to go along with giving her number, her name and meeting up to discuss things. Maia just hoped it wasn't too soon for the girl and decided to really think about how much she needed to tell Pandora in one go. She certainly didn't want to overwhelm her.

"I'm Lily, Liliana Jacobs," she said with a gentle smile even though it felt weird introducing herself, "I will text you my address when I get some. Please be careful going home and remember not to power down to close to you home."

Lily never liked being powered anywhere near her homes, and she could count on one hand how many times she had done it, but wished it was none.

Family.

Could she tell her mother that she was a part of a group believed to be terrorists? Her father? Perhaps her brother. Then, there was Kesslan, who lived in Destiny City.

Somehow, none of these felt right to tell. Maia--or was it Lily?--had the luck of having a brother in the struggle. Or, perhaps it was not so lucky.

"I won't." Pandora agreed with a strong nod. "Thank you."

The Senshi took a few, strong glances around to make sure there were no imposing figures, and then broke into a light jog. She was ready to be done with the evening, home, and asleep long enough to numb the shock.
