The sounds of cans being shook were about the only thing Riyo could hear as she took a step onto campus with a very meager grocery tote in hand. What was in her little bag of goodies?
Tuna.
Never not tuna.
She couldn't cook, so the next best thing was opening a can of her favorite fish and savoring the taste instead of the lack of a filling substance. Mmmmm.
The feline's boots stomped through the thick snow, enjoying the 'crunch' sound that accompanied it. Yes, she was certainly decked out for winter. Even her tail had cloth around it to keep her warm. Yep. She felt sorry for whatever poor schmuck wasn't prepared for this.

Cue one schmuck.
Akubi had arrived but hadn't exactly found his way around. Also? It was could. So very cold. The chill in the air prompted him to remove his pin and take his natural form for warmth from his fur among other reasons. Currently he sat in a hole that he had slowly sank into as time went by trying to wait for someone to help him.
So far the first day was going splendidly. He'd wanted to meet with Siobhan but ended up getting so turned around he wasn't sure where his tail was anymore. Ears flicked as he heard sound.
"Nyeehh? H'llo? Yes? Yes? Someone out there?" Paws pushed at the snow he was surrounded by to try and get himself a better view. "Heeeeeeeeeelllllllllppppp....!"

Riyo's ears perked almost immediately as a voice called out. One that seemed... Quite mysterious at first. There was nobody standing around. Nobody up in the trees, nobody on the g- wait what was that.

The ghoul recognized those ears from anywhere! Her bag dropped to the ground as she reached down to lift up the hefty fat cat, eyes full of stars. A new plump kitty for her to love and comb and show attention to and tell all her secrets and-
... Waaaaaaaaaaaaait a minute. Her look of pure delight turned slowly to one of suspicion. "... Uh. Huh... Are you... The one who just spoke?" Her brow raised, eyes darting right and left just to make sure she hadn't missed anybody.

He let out a small 'merrff' sound as she lifted him up and he just sort of dangled there and stared at her for a long moment his ears twitching a bit. Akubi was not normally a foolish feline by any means, but lying would get him nowhere in this situation.
"Would it be bad if I said a yes?" He gave her a show of teeth, an attempt at a smile harmless and friendly. Unfortunately the teeth were pointed and menacing looking for the most part.
It would be a shame if she dropped him and stopped looking at him so adoringly but he supposed that he would make due.

And now Riyo was horribly conflicted. Momentarily her hands twitched as if she was prepared to hurl him away, but she kept a hold remembering that he was still a preciously plump kitty cat with cute whiskers and an adorable nose and-
Probably a student. This was not unlike things she had been deceived by before. "... Yes and no." On one hand, he hadn't baited her, or led her to believe a lie. On the other, oh god why another cat boil at the school.
His smile was promptly greeted with a sheer lack of amusement. Nevertheless, she tucked the cat under her arm and walked back over to lift her bag of tuna off the cold ground. It was all trial and error now. One wrong word and the fat cat could end up eating the JOY packed snow. "And where might you be going in this weather?"

He wasn't dropped or otherwise ill treated. Akubi could live with this, even if her answer was an uncertain one. He dangled in her arm it was always nice to be held. Auntie held him all the time when he was little; it was just something he was used to.
Plus? The snow was pretty high and cold besides.
Stub tail twitched a bit side-to-side, "I was on my way to the uhh..Amity school, yes? And I got a bit turned around-wise." He explained. "I was recently accepted, you see. It is a wondrous thing, nyeh. Two friends of mine attend this Amity."

He was a new student at Amityville? "You poor soul." It wasn't the fact that he got lost as much as it was that he was enrolled now. No escape for this poor cat. "Well lucky you-" Not that Riyo realized the irony of such words yet. "-that's just where I was heading."
So the boil already had friends. Well, good for him. Though she wondered why those assholes weren't carrying him around instead of her. Rounding the gates, the ghoul walked in and up towards the dorms. "And what dorm might you be affiliated with?" She had to know where to dump him, after all.

"Mmm. Poor soul?" His head perked up a bit to stare at her and then stared ahead again. Lucky? Poor? Was he all of these things and more? He supposed so. After all he was being carried by a lovely ghoul on his first day here. Not the ghoul he was hoping would carry him but he would have to make it up to her.
"Demon~! I am ah..." There was a quiet hum. "...Demon...cat. Yes."
One of the few students that didn't exactly understand the breadth and width of what he truly was. Akubi let out a small thoughtful hum, "I call myself Akubi."

"Don't worry about it." She immediately followed up his questioning. No amount of warning could really prepare someone for the s**t he'd no doubt go through, after all.
Demon, huh? Goodie. And wouldn't it just be Riyo's luck if his dorm was magically right next to hers? "Alright then. I'm Riyo." It was still hard to give up her name so easily, considering how much she'd resisted interaction during her first year.
Since he'd said 'demon cat', the ghoul assumed he was just another bakeneko. Sure, there were other flavors of demon cat somewhere, but the demoness had never met them. "I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume you've never been exposed to this kind of weather before. Do you not have any warm clothes to get you through this mess?"

"I won't," he assured.
As long as his fur wasn't on fire and he wasn't in danger at the current moment, he could care less. Akubi stored away the name, "Riyo. Lovely name. Very easy to remember and say. Not that you needed my approval, hmmm?"
Assumptions would probably doom poor Riyo in the long run. At the question he gave an odd little chortle, "Not one scrap! I was going to buy some when I got settled but it seems that was a bad idea, yes. A very bad idea indeed."

Lovely name? This guy had a strange way of talking. "Flattery will get you nowhere." Riyo figured she should clarify that immediately. "And you're right, I didn't need your approval." The ghoul's words faltered as a wind started to pick up, directly opposing her forward motion. She began to slow as her other hand raised to attempt a meager resistance. Cans clunked and clattered in the wind.
"Yes, a very, very bad idea." Riyo choked out. The mild mannered snow was a force to be reckoned with in this mess. She could see the demon dorm. So close, and yet so far away. "Whelp. Get ready to be a catcicle. I might not make it.."

"I don't flatter," he retorted. In fact he was pretty sure the snow was a lot warmer than her by comparison, but he was much too wise to say anything about that. As the wind picked up he flattened his ears a bit and squinted.
He bowed his head a bit so some of the flakes wouldn't patter right into his eyeballs, "We need temporary shelter methinks. What is closest?"
In other words? He wasn't willing to become a catcicle without a fight.

Riyo didn't seem impressed by his retort, but decided to just drop it. Wasn't worth it. Not right now. "Hell, I don't know. I can barely see anything." She thought the demon dorms had been fairly close.
"I don't know where to g- oh." If it had been a snake it would've bit her. Less than a foot away stood a small, cozy igloo. Most likely some cold-affiliated jackass had left it as a testament to their artistic ability. "Well... It's something." Riyo placed the other feline down before crawling in through the small entrance, refusing to let the tuna go. Once inside, she huddled and curled up against the wall for warmth. "Just my luck."

"I can't see much either bu-," He'd been about to retort with something that would have likely turned insulting if it hadn't been for the fact that she sighted shelter of some sort. As she set him down he let himself sink into the snow a bit and waited until she was safely inside and then waddled after her.
He gazed around on the inside and thought better of transforming into his humanoid form with his pin. Better than nothing he supposed. Akubi's ears tilted back toward the howling of the wind outside as he waddled his way closer to sit near Riyo and then proceeded to firmly sit next to her to where they were touching.
He wanted warmth and like any feline he was going to take it.

Riyo was not okay with this. That much was evident in her facial expression when the cat student huddled up next to her for warmth. Immediately, she scooted her booty away, almost to the other side of the igloo.
"I'm not very keen on being close to you more than I need to." The demoness mumbled, folding her arms in front of her and giving the cat a death stare.
