Ca Thu Thi had wandered of on her own again. She wasn't too worried about her father panicking; she'd proven that she could take care of herself, at least for short excursions. Still, she never let her guard down; Punk had trained her too well to do that. Her ears perked up at the sound of twigs snapping. Someone was nearby. Pumpkin eyes fixed on the area where the sound originated from, her feet carrying her to its source. As she grew closer, she confirmed it wasn't a set of footsteps she was familiar with. They were quieter than Cardinal's, smaller than Sumac's, and not musical like her adopted fathers. They were louder than Nocturne's and had a unique step to them that Me'urra's didn't have. This was someone new. Someone interesting. The filly moved forward to investigate.

The stallion clambered along the path his hooves were taking him as he took in the scenery around him. He wasn't new to these lands, but he didn't exactly know them like the bottom of his hoof either. He moved through the brush not exactly caring to be too totally quiet either. His ears perked forward as he gave a grunt lifting his head up to snap a twig from the tree. It poked from his mouth as he chewed idly not exactly paying attention to much. It was then that he heard something. He stopped moving and kept his wings close to him as his head panned the area around him. It took him a moment to see the movement in the vegetation and once he did, his dark eyes fixated on the source. It was moving toward him, and it got closer and closer and closer...
All this apprehension and his "assailant" was a foal. She blended in well with her surroundings it seemed. He gave a grunt staring at her idly, the mute stallion wondering if she wanted a prize for finding him like most blunt children did. Bah! He shook his head a little stretching it for a moment still chewing on his trusty twig as the silence remained between them, his eyes continuing to study her.

Ca Thu Thi exhaled through her nose, pumpkin-colored eyes inspecting the stallion staring back at her. Her gaze fixed on his wings, her eyes sparkling with fascination as she trotted forward. She loved wings. They were fascinating to her. And these wings were different than the feathered ones she was used to seeing. They looked leathery and had claws on the end. Even so, she kept on her guard; the stallion was much larger than her, after all, and could decide that he wanted to make her leave via a kick to the side.

Now there was something he didn't experience every day. The lass was quite a taken with him it seemed, his eyes following her every movement. She was a strange little thing as she stared at him with a wonder he was not accustomed to receiving. Ivory was ruthless and often so used his size to strike fear in the hearts of those around him. He must have been having an off day. The stallion kept still for it wasn't in his code to hurt foals unless they needed a beating. So far this one seemed quite content to look him over. The male gave a grunt of a greeting as if to say hello to her. As if to amuse her, he opened the wing closest to her at a regular pace so that she could see it in all of its leathery, hellish glory. Ivory couldn't help but smirk at her wonder. If only mature females were more receptive to his sort of looks. He continued to chew on his twig contently as he kept an eye out for any intruders as well. She was out here by herself...where were her parents?

Ca gave a snort and a half-nod to acknowledge his greeting before inspecting the strange wing again. It reminded her of her father's stories and songs about dragons. When the wing began opening, the filly automatically backed up. She was used to Azrien taking flight near her, and it was always good to give them space. But his other wing was closed. Was he just letting her get a better look at it? Ca crept cautiously forward again to inspect the fascinating wing again. It was different from Punk's wing, but it seemed to have the same basic rules to it. They folded against the back and required unfurling for flight, just like her father's did. They were a slightly different shape, though... unless this was what the birdlike wings looked like underneath the feathers. It was an interesting thought. She'd have to remember it.

Psh. Brave, smart-a** little filly. Oh he had expected her to run when he opened his wing. That was...kinda part of the plan. But when she didn't and continued to study his wing, he gave a bit of a grunt. He shoulda opened the other one. Oh what the hell...where was this kid's parents or guardians or something? He eyed the area around him as she scrutinized his wing with her filly eyes. His twig was starting to run out...he would need another one soon. The stallion snorted turning his attention back to her and gave a grunt. Ivor yawned for a moment letting his twig fall from his mouth. He turned toward a tree close to him and picked off another one. This one still had a leaf attached to it. Joy. Maybe if he wiggled it around some she would get distracted and he could bolt. Ivory shook it a little wondering if she would get the message.

Ca's eyes flicked back to the stallion as he snorted. He was acting strange, so she watched him carefully. Most stallions--and mares, for that matter--usually yelled and kicked at her by this point. This interesting Azrien seemed a little bored and irritated with her, hadn't made any efforts to make her leave.

Bullocks where were her parents?! Was she ever going to go away?? His wing started to get tired so he folded it back neatly against his side. He gave the filly another grunt and slowly started to walk having become stiff from standing too long. Age. That was another thing he hated. He shook his head a little chewing on his stick, the leaf bouncing with the movement of his jaw and body. Ivory wouldn't be surprised if the small filly decided to start following him. Joy. He one of the most deceitful, evil azrein he knew...was starting to become a babysitter...BAH! Damnation! He cursed in his mind, but absently looked back to see if she was following. The stallion flicked his head absently giving a gentle snort.

Ca instinctively stepped back when the stallion closed his wing. He grunted and walked away, leaving the filly puzzled. He was strange. Was that how other Azrien saw her? After a moment she trotted after the silent stallion. It wasn't like she had anything better to do with her father on patrol.

She followed him. The friggin' filly followed him. Night gave a small sigh and a grunt kicking himself for allowing himself to slow down. He kept a slow pace as they moved through the forests, nothing but silence between them. It was strange to him, really. Didn't most kids talk? Why wasn't she talking? He gave a grunt looking toward her for a moment before taking the first step. The stallion would probably regret it later, but it was a curiosity of his. "You sure don't talk much..." His mind slipped into her young one careful to keep a majority of his away from her. There were just some doors she wasn't old enough to see open. "What's your name, filly?" Ivory asked giving a bit of a snort moving a branch out of their way with a wing letting her clear it first before he moved forward.

Ca snorted and shook her head at the strange sensation of having another presence in her mind. "... I've never talked." Her mental voice genderless and had an almost monotone sound to it. She didn't seek to explore the stallion's mind like she had his wing; in fact, if anything, she seemed to try and mentally back up. "My name is Ca Thu Thi. ... What's yours, Mind-talker?"

At her reaction, he couldn't help but chuckle. Most were not used to his way of speaking, of course. Yet she seemed to take it well enough. Her own voice was a bit of a surprise to him. She...really didn't have one. As curious as this foal was, she wasn't much of a socialite. "Coulda fooled me." He teased her with a bit of a chuckle as they continued to travel through the brush aimlessly. "My name is Night Ivory, Ca Thu Thi. Where do you hail from? And why do you not have guardians out here to watch you, pumpkin eyes?" Ivory grunted a little stretching his frame a bit as they now walked the boarder between grassland and forest. Eventually they would have to make a choice in trail soon.

Ca rolled her eyes and snorted at his teasing. She followed him silently, glancing up at him as he asked his questions. "Dad's on patrol. Mom travels, so she's only here during the winter. I hail from... I don't know who the herd leader is, but my dad's in it and so are Avalanche, Jeppe, Sumac, and Cardinal." The last name was spoken with a sharp edge, an irritable tone that suggested her dislike of the named stallion. "... What about you? Where are you from?"

"My mom." Ivory stuck out his tongue in a joking gesture as he gave a whinny of a laugh. With a grunt, he shuffled his wings on his back as the stallion continued to wander aimlessly choosing to keep within the forested area. "But seriously, I come from the southern lands. Seems like your 'herd' is pretty busy....I've heard of the Cardinal. Mean sort. But the Six like him because he gets the job done." He gave a breath brushing the bangs from his face. "If you ask me, he's got too much feathers up his...rear...to really pay attention to much. A bit too into himself and quite unappealing. He does what's best for him, not our kind." Ivory rolled his shoulders a little idly looking at Ca Thu Thi from time to time. "No wonder you like to get away though. There's a lot of you. I've always liked solitude." The stallion spat out his nearly brittle-chewed twig and grabbed another one lazily from above. It snapped well enough as the tree vibrated in response. He continued to chew on it idly as if using it to think.

Ca Thu Thi glared at him for his joke, but made no comment on it--mental or not. "He's loud. His voice grates on my ears. Just like--" She quickly caught off the thought. "I don't always want to be alone," the filly replied. "I just don't like being around lots of noisy Azrien. I like being around Dad and Sumac. Their sounds aren't irritating."
