It was a long night, she'd been working all day - all week - and then studying all week as well. She'd just finished her final exam, geology, and was on her way home from work. She planned on a long hot soak before curling up in front of the tv with a good movie or two, she was actually thinking she might see some historical romance type movie.
The mall was open till eleven tonight and she'd worked till closing, she was worn out from all the hours up and busy today. With it now approaching midnight and few people around Winterlynn was nervous walking home. She was tired and she wasn't exactly up for defending herself if need be. She wasn't normally a person who was nervous and skittish but how could she not be? With the fighting and terrorists in the city it couldn't be helped. At least during the day time things weren't as likely to happen but at this time at night she felt unsafe, spooked even, anything could happen and no one would even know or hear her.
Heels clicked on the pavement, god she couldn't wait to get home and get these boots off her feet, as he hurried her pace toward home. Rounding a corner she was just a block away from home - so close.
Just out of the corner of her eye she caught a flurry of movement and a loud cry slipped past her lips before a glove covered her mouth. Eyes wide she started to struggle against her...shorter attacker. Oh god! She didn't want to die!

After a good fight, or two, this week he'd depleted his energy supply, needing it to handle some minor injuries and loss of energy, so he was out tonight in a nice, quaint, residential area to replenish his energy supply. He'd already taken an orb of energy from a stout, balding, man three blocks away. He would wake up with a headache and tired but otherwise safe, he wasn't about to go killing some civilian. Now though he was waiting for that female to get closer so he could drag her into the little alley he was tucked in to.
Running between two town houses the little alley was filled with empty, and half empty, trash cans just waiting to be filled and dragged out to the curb. It was narrow, two people couldn't walk side by side down the alley, but he fit nicely and with it such a small alley way he was well hidden.
It was as she passed him by that he darted out in a blur of movement. His arms shot out and grabbed her. One about her mid section while his left hand slapped itself over her mouth, cutting short a scream. "Quite." He hissed out as he struggled with her. Dragging the taller figure into the alley he lifted a boot and pressed, kicked really, it into the back of her knee. If he could incapacitate her, make her not want to move and kick her legs, he'd have an easier time of this. Those heels were a hazard, he didn't need one of them landing hard on his foot.
Finally he got her into the alley and he started draining her energy, the hand at her mid section drawing the energy he needed form her. "You really shouldn't fight me..." He wasn't going to kill, rape, or beat her. Really he just wanted her energy.

”Well, well... picking on helpless girls I see,” Sessrumnir called into the shadows, his storm glass hanging by his side.
He hadn’t thought he’d be able to catch him in time. There had been a flash of energy earlier, and the squire had been following it ever since. He’d found a man with his energy drained and could only assume that was what was going to happen now.
But unlike others, who thought it was okay to allow the absorption of energy, Sessrumnir was against it entirely. In fact, he was pretty against all Chaos.
“It’s late, shouldn’t you be in bed? Or finishing your homework?” he mocked, trying to distract the man enough to get him to let the woman go. There was no need for anyone to get hurt, unless this guy wanted a fight. And he remembered this one, too... He’d tried kicking him when they’d been ambushed.
———————————————
Why wasn’t he doing anything??
Surely, this larger person wasn’t going to let anything happen to the young woman. Varuna had been hoping to find youma to fight, but instead had somehow ended up witness to some kind of mugging. But it wasn’t just any mugging.
This man, this young man who had the young woman in his grasp... there was something dark about him, something suffocating. She wanted to run away and hide, but... what about the woman...?
No, it didn’t look like this other man with the strange, yet clean energy, was going to do anything to help her. He was just content to watch while this young woman was helpless.
“Snow Slip!” she called quite suddenly, not wanting to give the younger man a chance to respond. This young woman would be strong enough to withstand mild injury from the attack, just as long as she survived. Or at least that was how Varuna saw it if she was in the same position.
Like a sudden rush of water, a blanket of snow appeared down the alley, knocking over trashcans in its wake, and would hopefully be enough to give the woman a chance to escape.

Eyes the color of wet slate narrowed at the knight stepping from the darkness. "And what of yourself? Shouldn't you be finding someone who doesn't out class you?" His hand clamped tighter on the girls mouth, as she tried to scream.
Where the knight remembered him the same couldn't be said for Benitoite remembering the knight before him. "Though you aren't the first of your kind who likes being out classed." Really they made it easy, almost too easy. Knights especially, they seemed to all be quite weak and incapable.
He had felt the low level senshi and smirked even more. "Well, it seems your not alone in putting me in my place." Came the mocking words. The attack wasn't heard and the ripple of snow coming toward them wasn't seen by him either though the trash cans were heard; and ignored. Too focused on the higher leveled knight and the one in his hold. When the ripple of snow reached him he did trip, moving with it he moved backward. His hold on the girl loosening.
Digging his heels into the snow he managed to catch himself before he fell. His hold on the girl broken he watched her landing on the ground, how amusing. The senshi was obviously trying to help her and yet downed her.
"How quaint...snow." He mused, his eyes flicking down to look at the snow on the ground even as it vanished.

She didn't even hear what was being said but knew that it seemed someone was here to help her, or two people it seemed, as the male hadn't moved and yet something had happened - something drastic. Landing hard on the ground; the cold and wet ground, she picked herself up and turned so she could face he still standing attacker.
"W-what's going on?" She asked. Purple eyes turning to the taller male who she could see. "Your those terrorists, aren't you?" Her eyes going from the blond male to the taller brunette male, she didn't dare look behind her to see the person there. She'd rather have her back on one person than two people. Not to mention it was the blond male who had attacked her to start with. Taking a step, one shoe stepping into the snow her heel caught on something. Something that...clanged, like cheep metal. Looking down at what her heel had caught on she spied something odd, like a child's toy scepter but made in metal.(Good?)

”Oh ho,” Sessrumnir forced a humorless laugh, grinning ironically at the insult. Him? Classless? “Please, if that’s your best insult--”
But he wasn’t able to finish. Someone else had apparently taken to the offensive instead of waiting for him to finish his discussion with the sweet little nega boy. The squire did his best to step out of the way of the snow as it rolled down the alley, surprised by its presence. He’d felt the energy of the low level senshi, but hadn’t paid it any mind, having expected whoever it was to run off, like any smart person would, upon feeling the energy signature of the General.
“What the hell?” he frowned, placing his hand against a wall to keep himself from slipping. This new senshi could have at least given him a warning if she was going to attack like that. Someone could have gotten hurt.
At least that was until the girl who’d been caught started making ridiculous accusations.
“Yeah, that’s right. We’re both terrorists. The guy who was about to probably kill you,” he said, gesturing to Benitoite, “And myself. Although I was trying to save you, but pay no mind to that and just believe everything you hear from the media, because he media and the internet is never wrong.”

Maybe if this guy was doing more than talking and actually trying to help this girl, they wouldn’t be pegged as terrorists! But instead he insisted on talking!
“No!” Varuna spoke up, nearly shouting in distress as she denied the young woman’s question. But this wasn’t the time to try and make her understand. Now was the time to get her to safety.
“This way!” she pleaded, trying to get the girl to move behind her as she leapt farther into the alley. Going up against someone this powerful...? She wasn’t going to take any risks. She needed to stay light on her feet and get the civilian as far away as she could from harm.
The moment she landed, just a foot past where the young woman was, Varuna called the name of her attack again. “Snow slip!” she shouted, her hands pressed to the ground and whatever snow was left from the previous attempt.
She knew she was pushing her luck with the proximity she had to the young man clad in an aura of chaos. She knew she should be running in the opposite direction and let someone more capable deal with him... but she couldn’t ignore the fact that this civilian needed help.
Sure as the last attack, snow rose up from the ground, pushing both men up, and a second later away as the snow rolled out from underneath them. Varuna could hear the older man let out a yelp of surprise, clearly not expecting to become part of the attack as well, but the farther she could get the two away from herself and this other woman, the better.
“Come!” she begged once more, reaching out to grab onto the woman’s arm, tugging at it and trying to get her to run.

"That's far from my best. If I so wished I could do far better. Right now though...I'd prefer to do something else." He felt the smirk crawling across his features, twisting the young almost androgynous features, into something less than pleasant.
Watching the senshi make her presence known he spoke up, his voice low and harsh. "How assuming and arrogant - knight. Assuming I was going to kill an innocent civilian. That isn't the mission of the Negaverse. Civilians are not to be killed. I was merely looking to gather some energy - personal collection." He stated and then he heard it. That attack being called. It was all the warning he needed before he was teleporting himself on top of a dumpster to ride out the attack.
Crouched on the dumpster top, keeping his balance, he finally let himself sit and than slid off the closed top of the dumpster and landed on his booted feet. "Well now. If we're going to be playing with magic I might as well bring out my weapon and make this a proper little encounter." Saying this he did just that. Materializing in his hands was a long and deadly looking weapon, although the blade could be longer and more wicked if you asked him. He really wouldn't mind it at all - in fact he really would like it.
"So...who wants to play first?" His eyes drifting, narrowed, from the knight to the senshi. "And don't expect me to go easy." No. They had interrupted him and he was not pleased at all.

"Of course they can be wrong!" She found herself shouting at the taller figure. "But the damage done to this city isn't a lie or the people saying you've all been the cause of it!" She continued from her place in the alley. Watching the blond girl do...something. She didn't know what but she saw the snow and watched the blond male...vanish. Oh god what was going on? These weren't normal terrorists but if not than what were they?
Being grabbed she went to reach down to grab the item that was between the flat front part of her shoe and the shoes heel. But she wasn't able to bend that far with the girl having a hold on her arm. Winterlynn knew she needed to get away but she also needed the item and so managed to kick the item down the alley and out onto the dark sidewalk.
Something, she didn't know what, about that childs toy called to her. She wasn't sure why it was in the alley, it didn't look old, damaged, or beaten up and it certainly wasn't the usual princess scepter made of plastic. It sounded like it really was made of metal and it was...nice but simple.

”s**t,” he hissed as his balance was compromised and the snow sent him down the alley. Not cool, but he could understand what she was trying to do and didn’t blame her. As long as she got the civilian to safety, then he didn’t mind a bit of snow.
“Oh, bringing out the big guns?” he asked, calling his own weapon from subspace. The large vial hung from its chain, resting by his side like some kind of wannabe meteor hammer. He wasn’t opposed to using it like one, either. “We may be responsible for some of the damage, but Chaos is responsible for it too, as well as people ending up in hospitals and mysterious disappearances.” He wasn’t in much of a mood to argue with her if that kept her from escaping... but he didn’t want to just let her think she was right when she wasn’t.
“I’ll take you on,” he grinned at the General, more confidently than he probably should be. As long as he had the opportunity to stall and let the girls escape, then he would consider this encounter a victory.
He held up the storm glass, hoping to catch the image of Benitoite inside it before he had a chance to escape. A dark, stormy world would surround him if he managed the feat.

”Come!” Varuna pleaded, trying to get the woman to follow her more willingly, pushing her around the corner of the alley so she could get away while she and this knight guy fought the badguy. She knew nothing of knights and very little about Negaverse officers, but... she knew getting on the wrong end of that spear would be a very bad thing indeed.
The senshi took a few moments to look the girl over, patting her down and making sure she wasn’t hurt, before taking her hand once more and giving it an encouraging squeeze. “Run...” she requested, smiling in what she hoped would be just as encouraging. She didn’t want to worry her even more when she was probably scared already... but she couldn’t just leave the knight to fight on his own.
It was then that she caught sight of the thing the girl had been kicking, and stared at it in confusion. What was so special about a toy like that...? Maybe it was hers...? Carefully, Varuna glanced around the corner to make sure she wouldn’t get attacked, and reached to pick it up. After glancing over it, she offered it to the girl. If that would get her to escape faster, then she could have it.

"And your side isn't responsible for people vanishing? Or were you not around when people - civilians - wound up in space?" Came the quick counter from the shorter male. There was no way his side had been behind that, considering they had no connection to space and hadn't been able to get there prior to using a mirror and a planet turned over to them.
His own weapon clutched tightly in his hands he didn't hesitate in the Squire wanting to take him on. He might be a bit cocky, but why shouldn't he be? Really thought he was confident in his own abilities and the weapon he had, while that knights weapon looked like some kinda of ball and chain but made of glass. Those thoughts were pushed away as he moved in toward the squire.
His own weapon coming up above his head as he brought it down in a sweeping arch from right to left. His blond hair flying about his face with the movement. He didn't know much about the magic that knights possessed as many were weak and didn't do anything. The only real experiences he had were with Camelot and that green haired b***h. He knew that Camelot used that gem on his shield, he didn't know that was something separate from the shield, and he knew about the green haired one being able to stop him in his tracks or at least slow him down. So while he should be entering this with some caution he didn't, he figured this one to be like almost every other knight he'd ever dealt with - weak.
"I am going to enjoy this." The words were cold, harsh, and spoken low while a smirk crossed his features.

As they rounded the corner of the alley and made it to the darkened street Winterlynn looked around as she pondered just running, this clearly wasn't her place. These were the terrorists who had been ruining their city and she wanted nothing to do with them, save for perhaps yelling at them. She'd already done some of that though and really running would be the best idea right now. This wasn't her place, she could run and call the cops; though she was sure they wouldn't do anything anyway. The cops did seem useless against these terrorists.
As the long haired blond girl told her to run she went to do so. But just as she was abut to run, as fast as her heels would permit (she could run in heels but was faster in sneakers), the girl was offering her that item she'd been kicking out of the alley way for reasons she wasn't even sure on.
"Thank you." She didn't know why she was thanking her, well she did but really Winterlynn didn't now why this item was calling to her. It wasn't anything she understood but she did reach out to take it, like one might take a baton in a track race - she was all ready to run the moment she had a hold on it, only when she grasped it something very strange happened. The normal clothing she'd been wearing gave way to something...something that was different - strange and not her at all. Startled, clearly by the widening of her eyes, she stood stock still, her hand still holding that little toy while she stared at the long haired blond. Winterlynn didn't move, didn't speak just let her eyes wander from the girl, to the item and then down to herself and back again. What had just happened?

”If you read the right tabloids, you’ll notice that they were all brought back safely, no thanks to the Negaverse and the DMC. If I recall correctly, there were youma that were released there to kill them all. How many did you kill while you were up there?” he scowled, no longer showing any sense of lightheartedness as Benitoite pulled his weapon from subspace.
If they were going to play that game, Sessrumnir was fine with that. Despite never having tried it before, he still knew what to do. His hand lifted to briefly touch the ring he wore on his right ring finger, a flash of his tie to Jupiter coming to mind, and a quiet rumbling coming from under his feet.
“The pleasure is all mine,” he smirked in response as he leapt forward to meet the General, but instead of his voice being its normal volume, it boomed and rumbled like thunder, his fist pulling back for some up close and personal contact, all the while trying not to get stabbed by the General’s weapon. He just hoped he was distracted enough to keep him from killing him quickly, and to give the two girls enough time to escape.

Varuna’s eyes widened in shock as the girl suddenly changed in front of her eyes. She was no longer the civilian girl who had been caught by the General, but now emitted a beautiful, pure energy. Crystals decorated her hair, and she looked rather set for the weather.
Before she could stop herself, the senshi lifted her hands to place them gently on the Page’s cheeks, as if to inspect her face and make sure she wasn’t seeing things. Her hands then fluttered to the fur along her collar, and then finally down to take hold of her hands, clasping both of hers over the young woman she did not know.
“Don’t be afraid,” she tried to reassure her, although she could remember vividly the moment she’d woken into who she was now. Varuna hoped will all her might that she would be able to convince her, if not with her words, with her eyes and the gentle squeeze of her hands, that everything would be okay. She didn’t know what this woman was, but the energy she could feel from her meant that she was at least pure... unlike the young man with the blond hair.
A sudden booming voice had Varuna jumping in surprise, and she gripped onto the woman’s hands even tighter as she looked towards the alley they’d come from. If they both ran now, what would become of the other man who had stayed behind to take on the General by himself?
“I have to fight... to protect the city...” she told her, confident that this new Page would definitely be able to escape if the young man corrupted by chaos was distracted by both herself and the other man.
