Victoria was out and about the place; being a ghost meant that the cold did not affect her much, since 'feeling cold' wasn't really a problem. However, she was still dressed for the occasion as she traveled from the mirror in her room to the mirror in the Ghost Dorm's common room through the Mirror World; it was a shortcut of sorts, and besides, she adored the Mirror World!
Straightening out her coat, and adjusting her earmuffs, she then started floating out of the common room, and towards the dorm entrance. Having read about it in a book, the ghoul had decided that she was going to try building her very own 'snow man' out of snow.

Unlike the weather-attentive ghoul, when Jove left his room he was wearing merely a white, ruffled shirt with his plain trousers. The only sign of dressing for warmth was the pale scarf around his neck, as he wore neither socks or shoes on his feet. He would have dressed up properly had he been going to class, but a trip to the monster dorms to harass his brother never required boots, or anything much for that matter.
As he closed the door to his room, the pup's ears perked as he became aware of the small figure who was heading down the hall in front of him. It looked like... that ghoul he met and fought the Queen with? Victoria.
He hastily pulled the door shut and trotted to catch up with her, his bare feet making no sound on the carpeted floor.

Victoria happily floated along, unaware of there being someone behind her. When she reached the doors, instead of opening them, she chose to phase through it, stopping at the top of the steps to admire the view; on closer inspection, this snow thing was rather pretty, even if it was hard to stare at all that white for long... And it was also being a bother to all those poor cold blooded students.

Jove stopped himself a moment before he hit the doors. She... could phase through things? For some reason that was one thing he had never managed to master. Tybalt could do it, but Jove always seemed too solid. It was only times when he was frightened out of his mind that he had phased through things in the past, and never once had he done it on purpose.
After a second to headtilt and ponder, he opened the door with a creak and stepped out into the snow. That was the first time he made a sound, the softest crunch of snow settling under his slight weight. Where was Victoria off to that day?

Victoria was already on her way down the steps; the sounds made by Jove went unnoticed, too quiet for her to pay them much attention. Hovering over the snow covered ground, she hesitated for a bit before bending over, and with one gloved hand, picking up a handful of snow. She then begun to pack it together into the shape of a ball, the way the book instructed.
However, since she lacked the body heat required to meat the snow enough to get it to stick together, when she removed her hands, the snow just fell apart again. While it would usually be disappointing, she couldn't help being cheerful.
Perhaps it was just all this snow... Or the JOY it's made of.

Jove's tail wagged, so she had just come to play? But it was easy to see her problem. He had seen snow before, so he knew there was fluffy stuff and heavy stuff, but this stuff was hard to make into much of anything. Even someone with body heat would have trouble with mittens on!
But the pup hadn't gotten this far in school for no reason. A gentleman should always rise to the challenge! He scooped some snow up in his hands, and darted back into the dorm. It was warmer there, and once the little flakes started to melt on his cold hands, he balled it up and headed back outside. This would do the trick!
He trotted over to Victoria's side, and offered her the freshly made, albeit small, snowball.

As she was about to start on attempt number 2, Victoria was aware that there was someone there beside her... Holding out a snowball?
"Oh! Thank you, sir!" She beamed, taking it from the boil. Holding it between her hands, she handled it carefully, as if expecting it to break apart at any moment, "How did you make it? Can you show me, by any chance?"
She spent some time simply admiring the ball of snow in her hands before taking a closer look at the boil; the color of his hair and the way he held himself seemed familiar, but she wasn't sure if she was someone she had previously passed along the corridor, or if he was someone she had actually spoken to... Probably the former, since she couldn't quite put a name to that face, "Have we met, sir? Pardon me for saying this, but you look awfully familiar..."

Jove nodded, his tail curling up to touch his lower back. Although the little ghost didn't outwardly smile, his body language and general demeanor spoke of someone quite content. Even when his head tilted at her next question. He seemed quietly amused, was she making a joke because he was in a different form now?
The little boil's tail wagged, and after grabbing another handful of snow he offered Victoria his arm. He was sure once she realized they were taking the snow inside, she would pick up on the trick very quickly.

Victoria was puzzled when the boil didn't answer her, although his gentlemanly gestures were very much welcomed. She looked at the offered arm, and then at his handful of snow, before scooping up some snow in her own hand. She then took his arm using her free hand; for some reason, she found the boil to be more and more familiar... She was sure that they've met before. The silence, the way he offered his arm, the look on his face-
"Sir Jove?" She asked, clearly surprised, "Is that you?"

Jove nodded, playing along. Although he still blushed slightly, even in play it was hard to be called "Sir" without being at least a little embarrassed. For all his pride and posturing there were some things he was terribly modest about. He held the door open with an invisible arm, and led the small ghoul inside. Now she would see, if they just waited a minute for the heat to soften the snow... He began to pack his own handful quite easily, and held it up so Victoria could see. If they stayed inside too long it would melt completely, but just long enough and they could make snowballs just as well as warm, living students.

Victoria's eyes widened as her surprise grew, and for a moment, she wondered if maybe this boil was playing a prank on her... But his physical appearance and mannerisms really do remind her of Jove. Besides, there was no reason why this boil should be lying to her.
"But... But Sir Jove was a lot bigger! And older!" She replied, surprise fading away to give way to confusion, "Did something happen?"
Maybe he was cursed? Maybe this was some sort of temporary thing caused by a spell? A potion? Medication? She just couldn't wrap her mind around how someone could be getting younger instead of getting older with time. Besides, they were ghosts, and ghosts don't age the same way reapers and some monsters do.
Her attention soon went to the snow in his hands when he begun making snowballs out of it, and for a moment, forgot about the fact that Jove had magically made himself closer to her physical age. Carefully, she proceeded to pack the melting snow together; although she didn't end up with a perfect sphere, the snowball held together.
"I did it!" She smiled, triumphantly holding the melting snowball towards Jove.

That was the moment Jove began to wonder if she really wasn't playing around. Was his change really that noticeable? He had looked at himself in a mirror at times while he had been practicing, but aside from looking more like the rest of the students in age and size, he had still been himself. Same pale skin and dark freckles, same fluffy ears. His face had been less rounded, a little bit more like his brother's, but it had still been him... The pup's blush came back in full force as he shook his head. No, nothing had happened, this was just how he was. More so than when they had first met, this was the most natural humanoid form for him to take. It was a little embarrassing. Hopefully Victoria wouldn't think less of him for not always being older-looking... He was relieved when the ghoul's attentions returned to the snowballs, it gave him some extra time for that blush to fade. With a congratulatory tail wag he led her back outside, and set his own snowball down on the ground. Then he began to roll it. He had seen some other students do it this way, once balled up and slightly melted the snow seemed to adhere to itself. The ball got bigger as he rolled it along until the weight of the ball itself worked in his favour. He glanced back at Victoria, did she need any help?

Although Victoria was still curious about Jove's change in physical appearances, she was relieved to know that nothing bad happened... So it was normal for him to look younger? Would he look this way forever? However, Jove was still Jove, and that's what matters.
"I'm glad to see you again, Sir Jove. How had you been since spirit week?" She asked as she followed the boil back out into the snow. She watched as he rolled the snowball around on the ground, breaking into a smile when she realized that it was getting larger and larger. It seemed easy enough, and she soon got rolling too. Although it looked a little more like an oval than a circle, she managed to roll a snowball that was smaller than Jove's, intending to use it as the head of their snowman, "Now it needs a face!"

Jove's tail wagged, nothing crazy or bizarre or dangerous had happened, it had been school as usual. Although perhaps a little boring, with only studying and brushing snow from foxfire feet after walks to keep him occupied. It wasn't something he would admit to, feeling listless and bored when there wasn't anything to fight. School had made him into more of a monster than a gentleman had any right to be. Fluffy ears turned in her direction, giving the ghoul his full attention as he helped her push the smaller snowball onto the larger one. It wasn't much, but for a pair of little scarelings such as themselves, it was quite nice. He paused for a minute, giving the snowman a speculative look, and then rummaged around in his pockets until he pulled out some small button mushrooms, and a long string of yarn that had once been attached to a coattail. With a tail wag he fixed the string of yarn in a crude smile on the snowman's face, and then pushed the tops of the button mushrooms into the snow, stems snapped off, gills giving the pair of eyes a sinister, intense look. He looked at the other two mushrooms in his hand, and offered them to Victoria. He wanted to eat them, but it would be rude not to share. He could eat the stems left over from the mushroom eyes.

Victoria took the tail wag as a sign that all was well in Jove's life, and smiled in response. Unlike him, she was perfectly happy with an uneventful school life. She just wanted to be a good ghoul, and graduate the school as a good student that her Matron would be proud of.
"It has a face now!" She seemed amused by the fact that their snowman looked more complete. Taking the offered mushrooms, she looked at them for a moment before looking back up at her friend, "What are these for, Sir Jove?" However, just as the question left her lips, she thought of something, and promptly answered herself, "Oh, I know! Is it for this-"
Snapping the stem off the mushrooms, she pushed each one into the face of the snowman until they were level with the snow. Giving the stems a pat, she beamed, proud of herself, "Nostrils!"
If Jove had offered only one, she would probably have given the snowman a nose... Instead of nostrils.
