In the Siren Shores, flowers line the beach, floating lanterns blanketing the ocean waves.

In Dragon's Peak, candles and festive decor transform the place of mysticism into a holiday
celebration, giving the denizens a clear view of the fireworks from the distant floating city.

The Floating City of Aimes hosts many a festival, but none so grand and encompassing
as the Wintertide Festival. People from all around Amies gather to this enigmatic town to
celebrate with amazing food, the free festive gifts and meeting up with old friends and
loved ones. The greatest draw, however, is the decorations that adorn the marketplace
and every street and alley of the city.

[ Things To Know ]

[ For Dusts ]

The most important thing about this festival for current owners is that it counts as a requirement filled
for a shop event. However, you will need to participate throughout the entire RP event for it to count! That
means you'll need to accumulate at least 30 points throughout the 2 and a half weeks of the event to earn
it. This is treated as a 'normal RP' in that you are expected to respond and help move things along and not
just read what others are doing. How do you get the points, you ask? Read the post below!

__________

[ Points ]

Everyone can accumulate points in the event, even non-owners. The way to gain points is very simple:
first, post once a day. The second point is rewarded for posting at least 3 times a day. The third
point is given for interacting with 2-3 other people. This may sound strict but the entire reason for
the point system is to encourage everyone to participate and for no one to feel left out, while making
sure everyone has the option and ability to take initiative to interact. If it counts as growth for Dusts,
why, then, would anyone else want to meet the point tally? Those who get at least 30 points in the event
will earn the seasonal squirrel as a familiar! In the coming year, familiars will sever a special
purpose, so it's to your benefit to gather them where you can. For Dusts, it's proof of your success, and
is a special thank you from us to you for your participation!

Please note: extra points will be rewarded for participation in the games as well as exceptional participation!

[ Stalls ]

The Festival is known for its beautiful decorations that only warm its already upscale architecture.
Lights of silvery whites and delicate ice blues enhance the artfully carved window frames, sprigs
of hearty evergreen and thick bay leaves adorn doors as tightly woven wreaths, and through-
out the city, enormous redwoods with frosted ornaments and candy canes for the taking can be
found. There's mistletoe hanging from every unlikely area for a holiday smooch. The generous
expanse of the marketplace allows for the bulk of the festival-goers to mingle with comfort and ease,
stalls dotted about to supply the basic needs for the festival: food and drink, along with stalls that
host free ornaments and adornments to customize trees. Some stalls are more interactive, and
its these that have the most traffic.

[ Flower Stall ]

Boasting an array of fresh flowers that are hearty enough to withstand the frigid season, these
beautiful tokens are free. The Winter Rose, the Red Poinsettia and the Celebration Carnation are
handed to those who have the spirit of giving in them, to share the joy and the point of the season.

ICly, you can RP picking up one of the flowers and gifting them to someone else; if done correctly,
one of the staff members will edit the appropriate flower into your post for your intended to keep.
Keep it IC and not just a free-for-all in giving to your friends or you wont be given the flower!

[ Game Stalls ]

The game stalls seem to be having some difficulty getting set up: the ice and general hustle
and bustle of the marketplace have made getting the stalls functional a bit trying. They look
promising, however, as the prizes can clearly be seen despite the game's issues: an adorable
snow bunny plush and a festive winter squirrel! When they open, the games are free to play,
it's just...the games keep breaking down, so catching them open is sporadic!

OOCly, we will open the games on random days, for an entire day, for your Dust or potential
Guardian to play! Specific rules for each game will be listed when they open!

This is one of the most anticipated parts of the Festival: the parade and the fireworks! The sky
of Aimes becomes filled with explosions of color, the parade lighting up the city in such a way as
never seen before -- it enthralls all that are within the city, and is said to be the most magical spectacle...

It's more magical than any of the participants can possibly fathom.

Stay tuned for the last week of the event to see what it's all about...

[ RP Etiquette ]

Here's a tip for how to keep track of who is where in the ORP:
When you post, the first think you should type is where you are and,
if you're handling more than one character (a Dust and a Guardian), make
sure you indicate who is at which location. Here's an example post.

Quote:
        (( Nolan - Fountain, Tesla - Drinks ))

Nolan sat on the lip of the fountain, watching everyone walk by, overwhelmed. Spotting Aric in the crowd, he lifted his hand and waved to his friend.

Tesla purchased a hot cocoa for her dragon, and some tea for herself.

This way, when you change places or new people join in, there's no
confusion as to who is where for easy interaction. You don't have to
bold the name of who you're interacting with, but if you're approaching
someone new, it might help to catch their attention. Have fun!
