Halloween Town - Residential District

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The Residential District is where the Citizens of Halloween Town, along with Amityville graduates, make their homes. It is just like the Dormitory forum of Amityville Academy or Deus Ex Machina; you may create ONE thread here for each Citizen (or graduate) that you have. This thread will serve as that character's home base of sorts. It will represent their home and also serve as a place to keep your RP logs.

Just as with Amityville/Deus dorms, please be respectful and DO NOT post in people's threads without prior permission.

Is everything here in the same physical location? Like, do all these people live on the same street, in the same town?
Nope! People can live in different areas of Halloween - it's a big world out there, after all. For right now, you can just coordinate with your fellow players to figure out which characters physically live near each other - later on we may get more in-depth about this. The only requirement is that everyone lives in Halloween - nothing in the Human World, on Deus, in another plane of existence, whatever. Just Halloween.

Cool. So I can have a mansion, right?
Hold up. Your Citizen (or graduate) starts with a small house to their name - or an equivalent dwelling suitable to their species. Cave, swamp island, whatever, as long as it's small. Over time and with RP, you can earn bigger and better homes if that is what you want to spend your RP points on!

More information on earning goodies with RP points will be up later. For right now, work on settling in and earning those points!

How many people can live in a house? If my character has a mate, can they live in the same house and share one thread?
(I AM BSING THIS BUT) Yes, provided that your RP point tally posts are carefully maintained and that each character has a separate tally post. Since RP points are kind of like upgrade currency here, and everyone has to earn their own points, it's best to keep things as clear as possible. (IF THIS ISN'T OK PLZ CHANGE IT)

Roleplay Point Tallies

Just as with Amityville, Deus, and Horsemen, Citizens and graduates can earn points for roleplaying. These points can then be spent to gain various upgrades and bonuses! Most advancements beyond the basics they start with (a house and a shop it you want) will have to be earned through RPing that character. Citizens can gain stat level advancements through meeting the same requirements as students (without cooldown) and can gain wealth and power and legacy the same way as graduates can. Citizens do not gain learned abilities, these are unique to Amityville and one of the reasons why it's considered a superior school despite, or perhaps because of, it's dangerous eccentricities and approach to education.

You must keep track of your growth points in your character's dorm room thread - provide links to document everything, as we will be checking when you want to cash in your points! It is your responsibility to accurately tally and claim your points.

Also, once you spend points, those points are gone and cannot be used to buy something else. If you run out of points, you must RP more to gain additional points!

Points are earned as follows:

You earn 1 point for every:
- One piece of fanart drawn OR commissioned by you for anything related to the shop. You can claim a maximum of 5 points per level this way. (More on levels will be released later, for right now assume your Citizen is Level 1.)
- One complete RP; you must have written at least 800 words in that RP for it to count as a point.
- Five minipets grown to their final stage. You get one point for every five minipets; you can claim a maximum of 5 points per level this way.
- One complete solo, at least 800 words long.

You earn 2 points for every:
- One complete battle RP; must have filled-out RP actions, not just dice rolls.

You may earn ??? points for:
- Special events run by GMs may have point prizes for participants; to claim these in your tally, make sure to link to the post where points were awarded.

You may earn bonus points for:
- EXTREEEEEEME! WORDCOUNT! Those who choose to write particularly prolifically - perhaps an involved solo plotline, or a very involved single RP, may earn bonus points. You can get +1 bonus rp point for every 10k words you write in a single RP/solo, up to 50k words. (So the most you could get from any RP/solo would be 6 points: +1 for over 800 words, +1 more when you hit 10k, and +1 more point for every 10k you hit after that point.) Please note that GM/event ORPs do not count for these bonuses.
