Personality: Yejide has never taken well to companionship in any form, whether it be family, friends or significant others. Her attitude toward life is one where she is better off alone, if only for the reason that others can't be relied on. She keeps to herself in all aspects and is slightly confrontational when dealing with others. She's brash and stubborn to a fault. She knows what she wants and can't be changed either way. Her always-right attitude creates this overwhelming need to be sarcastic when others question her. And this inflexibility only encourages her thoughts that others' affection is a useless concept. She's happy being alone, though there are those occasional flickers of doubt.
This self-cast solitude also means that Yejide has matured abnormally fast. She likes to do things herself and can't think of others helping her, creating wisdom about things that others her age haven't achieved yet. This maturity conflicts with her stubborn streak. When her ways are quesitoned too vigorously, she wants to create physical pain in the other person she's talking to, her version of a tantrum and something that she's not proud of.

History: Yejide grew up with her mother. Her father had left them early on when Yejide was barely old enough to talk. This created tension between Yejide and her mother as Yejide grew older and her mother avoided the subject. As she grew tired of asking her mother, she grew tired of talking to anyone. In her opinion, nobody was worth her time anymore. She would rather be alone. Eventually Yejide stopped talking to her mother altogether and with the first chance she could, she moved out on her own. This brought incredible sadness to her mother, but Yejide had already cut her losses and moved on.
She hasn't talked to her mother since and roams Tendaji doing odds and ends jobs to feed herself when necessary and hunting for herself whenever she can just to avoid talking to others. She doesn't have a permanent place to stay, but rather settles down outside wherever she is at the time.
Her perpetual hunting has given her a nickname of Bone Collector among those who have met her. She cleans and bleaches bones from her meals and uses them to create things as well as keep count of her kills.

I don't think she'll be Alkidike and I want her to be pure something but leaf is an interesting idea. I was toying with ice for a while but I'm not totally committed yet. Yejide is still on the back burner for now lol

I guess mature isn't exactly the right word; I think self sufficient or independent would be better descriptors. Since she's constantly alone she's learned to take care of herself and since she travels she's seen more of the world than most including the cruelties that can be; so worldly could also work but isn't exactly what I want to get across either.

Her stubbornness sets her in the mind frame that she's always right, and if she's always right, why would she need others opinions when it'll just make her mad that they're obviously wrong. The apparent stupidity of others just creates another reason why she doesn't want to get to know anyone else and pushes away a need for companionship.

Her base needs as an earthling (since earthlings are social creatures by nature as she's well aware) can push her to sometimes doubt her choices to be alone. While she enjoys it most if the time, there are nights when she wonders if she would be happier sitting under the stars with someone beside her. During these times she also questions how different her life would have been if her father hadn't walked out on them.

Her father walking out at such a young age left her changed for the worst. Her memories of him are almost non existent but what she does remember is her mother's reaction. Her mother secluded herself from Yejide for years after her father left and by the time that wore off and she tried to reconnect emotionally with her daughter, Yejide had already grown bitter with her father that she never knew as well as her mother who emotionally abandoned her when she needed her most. Even though her mother eventually began to talk to Yejide again, she refused to answer any questions about her father or even acknowledge his existence.

And Yejide's not a killer really, just an adept hunter. Her bones are from animals and to her are a sign of her skill and pride.
