Hi, my name is Professor Alyssa Marie Goldwind

I'm a female. Thank you for noticing.

I will be your Herbology teacher for years 1-3.

I'm 38 years old.

The house I'm in is Hufflepuff, and I'm very proud of it too.

My birthday is July 7th.

My dream job is exactly where I am. I couldn't dream of doing anything else.

My blood status is Muggleborn.

I was in the class of 2003

I'm interested in just men for me, and even then, only the one who has stolen my heart.

I'm currently with Ian Goldwind.

I may seem supportive, helpful, caring, curious, and super sweet but I'm really just the same on the inside as I am on the outside.

My background story is in my mind, a fairytale.

I was born to my loving parents in the great country of England, obviously. I never had troubles making friends growing up. I was the kid everyone wanted to play with after school. Until, that is, my "abilities" started showing up. I remember the day like it was yesterday... I was at the sprouting age of seven. It was a Wednesday, if my memory serves me well. I was sitting in my classroom at school, and I asked my teacher if I could sit by the window and look at the flowers outside. They were the prettiest flowers I'd ever seen, after all. She rejected my request, and sent me back to my seat. Pouting, I wished as hard as I could that I could see the flowers. And, as if by magic, the flowers grew and grew, and came in through the windows to my desk. I was ecstatic, of course, and my teacher was shocked. She even fainted. My parents took me from the school and, once at home, sent me to my room. I was confused beyond belief. What had I done wrong? Soon enough, I was the outcast of the entire neighborhood. No one understood me.

I continued my schooling until I reached the age of eleven. It was then that a large owl swooped into my backyard and dropped a letter at my feet. It stated that I had been enrolled into a school for magical children. I was so excited! I would finally get to meet others like me! A man came to my house soon after. He explained to me and my parents the existence of witches and wizards, and that I was, in fact, one of them. It made so much sense now! Why I could do things that other kids couldn't. My parents took it surprisingly well, and the man showed me to a place called Diagon Ally where I could purchase my school supplies. I said goodbye to my parents and set out for the train station, bound for a world full of wizards, witches, and enchanted schoolrooms.

I arrived at the castle. It was just like the ones in my fairytale books back at home! I had made a few friends on the train ride, and stuck to them like glue as we entered the Great Hall for our "sorting" ceremony, whatever that meant. Some were sorted into Gryffindor, some into Ravenclaw, some into Hufflepuff, and some into Slytherin. When my name was called, I skipped up to the stool and sat down like a princess on her throne. This is a fairytale, after all. The hat called out Hufflepuff, and the crowd of yellow and black students cheered as I skipped over to sit with my house. My classes went well, especially Herbology. I loved plants more than people sometimes. As the years went on, I grew to love the game of Quidditch as well. I couldn't play it well, but I did enjoy watching it. I never missed a game. It was there that I met the person that would become an unlikely friend.

It was a cold, winter day in my third year at Hogwarts. Gryffindor was playing Ravenclaw, and the match was deadly close. I was, of course, in the stands, cheering for no one in particular. I just wanted to watch the game, after all. None of my friends had wanted to venture out into the cold with me, so I was alone. But, as it turns out, I was not the only one that was alone. In the far back corner of the stands was a boy. I recognized him as a Slytherin from the way he was dressed. He was older, possibly a sixth year. But, nonetheless, little ole' me approached him. "May I sit with you to watch the game?" I had asked. He replied with a cold glare and silence. Well, he didn't say no, so I took the seat next to him. "I never said you could sit there." were his first words to me, his glare continuously frozen like the world around them. "You never said I couldn't." I had replied to him, smirking as he huffed at my remark and commented on my smart-mouth. He was a Slytherin, alright. We exchanged names and chatted. He seemed nice enough. It was just deep, deep, deep down below the surface. Ian, that was his name, offered to train me in the position of Beater to help with my Advanced Flying class. I had never been good at Quidditch, and my grades in that class proved it.

Several days later, our training began. Ian told me to just swing the bat, not to think about it at all. Seemed simple enough to me. I did as he said, swinging my borrowed bat at a bludger coming at me. I must have done something wrong, because I missed and fell backwards off of my broom. I was sure that I was done for, that I'd be dead as soon as I hit the ground. But, to my surprise, the ground never came. Ian had flown up and caught me. He saved my life. I will never forget that in my entire life. Ever.

After a while, we became close friends. Very close. So close that, eventually, I found myself thinking about him all the time, constantly worrying about his safety in his Quidditch games, spending every moment I could with him. I had fallen in love with him. Yes, a Hufflepuff and a Slytherin were together. My world was complete. Well, almost. Years later, our world grew with the births of our son, Bradley, and our daughter, Amelia. And now I'm back at Hogwarts, along with my Ian, to teach Herbology to the younger students, our children in the care of Ian's brother and his wife.

And that is my fairytale up to the present.

Update - Year 2022: All of the Muggleborn witches and wizards fell into a comatose state during the school year, including myself. I don't know why, or how, but I just passed out one day in my office. Thankfully, Ian was there and he got me to the hospital where I was taken care of. Near the end of the term, we all woke up mysteriously, having no memory of what had happened. For all I knew, I just took a nap for the afternoon and woke up the next day. It was quite strange.

I enjoy gardening of course, as well as a good book every now and then. I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching (not playing) a good game of Quidditch, and anything sweet.

I despise nothing! ... Just kidding~ There actually are a few things that displease me. Such as bragging and complaining, and any negativity at all. I also dislike spicy things, harsh weather, and sad songs.

I'm afraid of negativity. Be happy, or I will not be happy.

My strengths are Herbology, of course, and finding the greatness in others.

My flaws are Quidditch (can't play to save my life), and my tendency to be just a little bit too peppy (pssshhhh).

I look like Charlize Theron.

My wand is a 8 and 3/4 inch Blackthorn with a Fairy Hair core. Dainty little thing, isn't it?

My pet is a gray bunny rabbit named Wisteria. Sometimes I call her Wis, though.
