So far, Sailor Persephone had done a pretty good job at avoiding any sort of Chaos power signature. She wasn't sure she was ready for a confrontation with the "other side," but she was hoping that as long as it was a person and not a mindless youma that she ran into, she might do okay.
The power signature she felt was stronger than her own, and so she approached cautiously. "Um, hello?" She called, wary of dealing with someone both stronger than her and theoretically her enemy.

The Super Senshi of Kindness felt the signature and heard the voice at almost the same time, turning to see the source. He was not expecting to be approached by a senshi, as most of the time they were either confrontational or he was the one to say hi to them first.
But this hadn't started with an insult or an injury, so it was definitely positive in his book!
"Hello!" he said brightly, as if to encourage her timid attitude and assure her things were fine. He was certainly not going to hurt her, and he smiled at her warmly.
He was not up to anything, really, only just starting his patrol and he had not even begun to think about who or where he would get his energy from tonight. So it was the perfect time to run into each other: there was nothing to fight over!
"I haven't seen you before! How are you doing tonight?"

Persephone brightened at his cheerful greeting. Okay, no stabbing, no threats, no nastiness - that was good! She physically relaxed as she drew closer, her smile matching his own for warmth.
"Haha, that's...probably because I'm really new at this. I'm doing alright, how about you?" She hadn't gotten into a fight and he didn't seem to be doing anything nefarious and that made for a good night so far in her book. "I'm Sailor Persephone!" Her introduction was cheery, and she had thoroughly dropped her initial guard.

"I'm doing fine! Not really up to anything. I think I was looking for someone to train with but then I just sort of got distracted thinking, which happens a lot some times."
Which didn't make sense, and also was not as keen as it sounded because his thoughts were mostly empty and harmless, as he wandered around admiring how pretty things were or how nice the weather felt.
He was easy to amuse, at least.
"It's nice to meet you, Persephone! My name is Virtus and I'm the Dark Senshi of Kindness!"

"Oh, we'll, I hope you figure out what you meant to do," she said, "and good luck finding someone to train with!" Should she be wishing an enemy good luck?
How did she even classify this guy as an enemy? She wanted to hug hum, not hit him.
"...Dark Senhi of...Kindness?" Somehow, in her head, that didn't quite compute. If he was introducing himself as a Dark Senshi, well, that certainly added a certain amount of obviously evil flavor - but he was clearly the antithesis of evil, and...Kindness? Really? But more importantly... "You'll forgive me if I sound stupid, but what's a Dark Senshi?"

"Oh! You don't sound stupid, don't worry! You have a very nice voice." Virtus smiled brightly, nodding a few too many times and looking like he meant every word. Because he did. It was very difficult and extremely rare for an untrue statement to fall from his mouth, even when he was being stupid himself.
And he was often being stupid. Just not false.
"A Dark Senshi works with the Dark Mirror Court, under our Queen Ares. It's all really nice, to be honest, and we're very close. There isn't a lot of us, but we're growing, and we are hoping that the other senshi will join us and we can all just be friends!"
Well, that's how it worked in his head, anyway.

Persephone briefly considered pointing out that wasn't what she meant, and then let it slide.
"Oh, that does sound nice," she admitted. It had to be nice, having a leader and a direction, though on the other hand, if they were calling themselves the Dark Mirror, well. She wasn't exactly inclined to throw herself at them.
"Do you really ask other Senshi to join? How does that work? How well does that work?" How many Senshi fell to the Dark Side? She was curious. It obviously had to have some kind of allure!

"Well, to be honest, so far, it hasn't worked for me. But the option is always there, if anyone ever wants to join I am more than happy to help them with it!"
He smiled brightly. He could see a world where they didn't have to all just fight each other for the sake of it, definitely.
One day, one day. He just had to keep on trucking. Showing senshi that it wasn't EVIL to be a Dark Senshi. Just a little... Chaos oriented. But what was Chaos between friends?
He smiled and shook his head.
"I'm sure the White Moon is perfectly nice, as well." No one on that side had ever asked him to join, though. That was the difference he supposed.

"Oh, I see," Persephone nodded. "Well I have to admit, you seem like a pretty good ambassador for it." He seemed like a sweet guy, and if everyone on the other side was like this, why were they fighting?
Of course people were people, so she suspected there were some less-friendly folks on both sides of this little equation.
"Well, I mean, I've had a pretty good time of it so far? The people I've met have been helpful, which is great!"

"That's good! I'm glad there are nice people on both sides of things. I think that's a good thing, definitely, and partly why everyone sees their sides defined so clearly, you know? Because there are friendships and things on the side you awaken on, and that makes you loyal. You can't think about ever joining another team."
He looked thoughtful.
"But if we were all one team, it wouldn't matter!"
It was idealistic but it got him through, planning on this future that he could spend with everyone else. No more worrying about keeping himself strong and looking out for people to fight him. He did not want to get killed or hurt anyone else in the slightest, so keeping to the role of pacifist definitely worked for him.

Persephone nodded slowly. "Yea,h loyalty and such all around." She murmured. That seemed...tough, in a way, because wasn't one side, well, wrong in their loyalty? Because this was magical girls and sparkles - and most of the time, magical girls and sparkles came with black and white morality and the power of friendship and darn it, she'd seen this show and she'd cosplayed it.
Or, at least, she hoped she had.
"You know, that's true!" She agreed. Idealistic, maybe, but Persephone, too, could see a beautiful future from that.

Virtus smiled and decided he had made a friend.
"I'm sure of it! One day we'll be able to just talk without feeling like we're supposed to be fighting instead. And I won't have to do anything that you won't like, and the other way around. We'll just all... get along. I think it can happen, I've met some very nice people on all sides."
He had. Or maybe they just acted nice for him because he was hard to hit in good conscience. Or, even more likely, he just remembered them as being nicer than they really were.
It made no difference to him.
"I've been keeping you here for a while, haven't I? I didn't mean to, hopefully you weren't doing something before we started talking!"

Persephone sighed. "That," she said, "would be a lovely place to be." Not that it could right now. But she definitely thought that at the very least, there could be bonds across individual Senshi. Virtus, for instance - she could not imagine classifying this friendly, open boy as an enemy, ever.
"Oh, no, I wasn't up to anything, just sort of wandering around!" She laughed quietly. "That's, uh, kind of what I do," she confessed. "No clue what I'm supposed to be doing except, you know, dusting youma, protecting innocent civilians, et cetera, et cetera."

Virtus smiled and nodded his head. He did not like to have conflict in his life, but being a soldier in war often came with that. So he had to learn how to deal with things in stride, and make himself feel better about the things he couldn't control, and fix the ones he could. One small step at a time, he supposed.
"Well those are good goals. I'm supposed to be doing my patrol too, I think, but it was a pleasure meeting you! I hope we can meet again and we'll be friends. Do you think that would be okay?"
Some senshi were nervous about that, but rightly so. He couldn't blame them, in the end, because there were people on both sides that did not see the others as friends. Or even real people, it seemed like, sometimes. And they were hte dangerous ones.

Persephone blinked. "Of course we can be friends!" She said. "I mean, you seem really nice and all, so I don't see why not, opposite sides or no." Wasn't that what this magical girl business was about, anyway? Power of friendship?
"I hope to see you again, Virtus, and get to know you and your Court better too!" Because sometimes, wasn't it okay to just talk to people? Maybe she could talk them around to the right side.
Look, it totally worked in anime, it could work here too.
"See you around!"
