Dega jumps up in his tent, startled from hearing leaves rustle in the trees near his small make shift camp. Shaking his head to dismiss the sound, he moves to gather water from the near by river to put out the smoldering coals.

"Stupid wind, waking me up."

Sitting on the pail though, he washes his face to clear his sleep, muttering about things mindlessly.

"Gah, so much for waking up before noon. Cheapo magician trying to sell me a wake up spell, shouldn't have bothered, I even knew it wouldn't work"

"and of course I still went to the bar to find th- Where is that towel..?"

Looking back at the tent, Dega stares at the cat for a moment or two upon seeing her. As he puts his hands on his hips he lets out a sighed 'So.'

"You were the noise I heard that woke me up I bet. Not only that, I see you're trying to steal my breakfast.."

Reaching down at first to take the fish, Dega instead just gets the towel. Drying his face, he talks to the cat as if he expects her to keep him company in exchange for the free food, despite being an animal.

"Bah, I saw more fish in the river anyways, not worth fighting with some forest cat... You'd probably know not to spend coin at a petty shop, huh?"

"That's what I thought! See Dega, even a cat wouldn't buy some cheap potion! At least I checked it first, unlike that one back in Zyther... worst stomachache ever."

He moves to the tent, pulling out a satchel which he takes along with the pail to the river bank. Opening the bag he digs in it before tossing a few shiny objects into the river. Talking to the cat the entire time.

"Zyther isn't a bad town though, just really bad potion makers! Though I doubt you've ever been little kitty. If you do go, avoid the shop on the left most side of town. or was it the right side.."

"Nono it for sure was the left side! The right side is what got me kicked out of the left!"

Snapping his fingers, the gems rise from the water, bringing two fish back, speared by crystalline growths. After the gems float back, he relights the fire and starts to cook the two fish. Looking down at the cat, he continues.

"And that is a story for another time! ...Huh, you finished that quite fast.. would you like another? I only really wanted one and it would be a shame to let fresh fish no longer be fresh, don't you agree?"

Dega stares for a moment after the cat becomes a human girl, partly in shock and partly suddenly lost in thought. Soon he shakes his head, dismissing whatever he was thinking.

"Very well, here you go"

Handing her the fish he uses his other hand to start eating his hungrily. Between bites he talks.

"So, my companion for the morning is not in fact a cat, but a young woman! Either that potion had something else in it; I'm asleep and dreaming; or the fish has gone bad."

"Huh, one of those.. met a few nekos before, though none who could do a trick quite like that... My name is Dega"

Bowing slightly with his introduction, he quickly finishes his food and once again fetches water and puts out the fire.

"I take it my breakfast was an easier one to acquire than to actually fish one yourself?"

Looking back before starting to pack his tent, he gives her a look with a raised eyebrow.

"I have no idea why men would do that.."

He looks her up and down to drive his point home before pushing the stick of one side out of the tent

"Don't panic!"

Grabbing the other he falls into the tent. The fabric falls as if he isn't in there, nor the other things and bags that were in the tent, as if the only thing on the ground is the fabric.
