It was not even all hallows eve when the canine colored stallion moved through his forested home. The tall trees reached out with to snag whatever passed with gnarled limbs. The stallion moved through the thick trees with ease as he grew up within this place. He knew all the places that would ensnare anyone who dared traverse the Black Forest.
The Black Forest, a place where souls and spirits were said to lay unrested and throw their pains unto others. But Lupius was unimpressed with the stories, having not been harmed by anything here.. Yet.
It was this particular night that he passed through an area where to him was known to grow rather dangerous thorns. Loping over one of the many dead trees that laid across his path something caught his nose and his ears. This stopped the stallion as he raised his nose to the air and sniff, blood...

She had been foolish! The large, nearly full moon had come to rest over these dark limbs and the strangely bright colored mare followed it into the trees. Though this was what many would think anyways, but she was far from being the foolish type. That innocent looking face hid something more behind those long lashes that would flutter and make a stallion weak in the knees. Cloven hooves stepped with purpose as she entered the black forest. With the moon nearly blacked out, she wandered through what she could see, but didn't notice any other life in this quiet forest. Perhaps it was hiding from her? Feeling the blackness that coursed through her veins?
This brought a smile to her face, they should be frightened, while most her kind were known for their healing and light-hearted magic, her was different, Sure she could heal, but it always came with a price. Most failed to pay up.. Shaking her head, the mare advanced before tumbling head long down through the branches that had concealed a three foot drop away. Down she tumbled from that ledge and down the hill beyond.
Tail over head she went until something caught around her legs, her head was yanked back as something snagged her horn and ears. A yelp was choked out as another tendril looped around her neck. She ached all over from her journey and now thorns cut into her flesh letting her own precious life force bead on her skin. "Well ain't that just perfect" the mare snapped as she struggled, the vines around her neck tightened to near breaking, but held constricting her windpipe.
How in the name of Makil was she to get out of this one? her forelegs laid before her tangled in thorned vines, her head was also crowned with them, what else could happen? Dark etched eyes stared at the ground as she thought, never occurring to her that someone was close by..

Lupius let his ears flick from side to side as he listened to the quiet in his forest home. He was quite used to the deadness of it that it set him on edge that someone else would enter it. Willingly. His tail gave a flick as he headed towards the sounds that had been the breaking of limbs and the rustle of leaf litter. These sounds soon ended as whatever it had been stopped moving, for the most part. Bounding much like a deer over a couple logs, through the out reaching branches. Some scratched at his sides with sharp twigs, ones that felt like claws. Ignoring those, he slowed as a voice reached his ears. So it was a someone that had come into his home, well he would be quite willing to show them out.
Stopping a few trees before the brightly colored mare, one that he couldn't figure why she would be way out here. Tilting his head to one side, he watched as she tried to move against the thorns that bound her tightly, the scent of her blood was starting to drive him nuts. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but he had to stop it.
"And just 'what' do you think you are doing all the way out here?" Lupius said with much authority in his voice. Stepping from his vantage point he surveyed the mare with cold blue eyes.

Head snapped up, the mare took to glaring at the stallion as he so nicely came out of hiding, though did she know he was even there? Surely she might have, he was the only thing that seemed to be alive in this acursed place, after all. Shaking her head the mare struggled to pull herself to her hooves, her forelimbs bound together making it rather hard to do so. So she settled with sitting and glaring at this stallion. But then she rethought the approach.
Her expression softened as she soon looked around as if afraid of something. But what in her black heart was there to be afraid of? He, should have been the one afraid of her! "Oh please, don't hurt me." she cried, oh she was hating this, but it seemed like the perfect ploy. "I got lost, chased by something. I don't know what, but PLEASE don't hurt me." She poured on the water works and lowered her head, sides heaving in false upset-ness.
