He wasn’t sure what had possessed him to come back to the infirmary. Wilson was sure the person he was looking for wouldn’t be here. The hunter had seen the way Ryan had collapsed, ceased moving entirely. Surely, the blond was dead. Yet, he couldn’t stop himself from second-guessing himself. There were still lingering doubts about whether or not the moon trainee was dead. Hunters had a way of “dying” over and over, after all. With “magic,” nearly anything was possible.

So the death hunter found himself heading to the infirmary once more. It was significantly quieter now. The initial chaos had dissipated, leaving only occupied cots and dozing hunters covered in bandages while monitors hummed. His goggles were around his neck once again, but his brows remained curiously furrowed as he strolled down the aisle, like he wondered if he should turn around now while he still could and protect himself from potential disappointment.

To his surprise, or perhaps no surprise at all, Wilson found Ryan’s bed. He pressed his lips together, but said nothing. He merely stood by his bedside and stared at the other beds within the infirmary.

Staring at the unconscious was pretty creepy, after all.

After accepting the offer made to him, Ryan had thought that for once he was doing something good. Little did he know that it was just another mistake among many and that his actions had nearly cost the sun division lead his life. So when he finally did open his eyes, it was of little surprise that he had no recollection about the the orbs resurrection, or the revival of the four clans and--

"Wilson?" He blinked, bleary eyed at the death hunter who lingered by his bed. "Why are you in my room?" It would also take a few minutes more before he even remembered what had happened since his exile, that he even was exiled and that this wasn't his room.

Ryan’s voice startled him. He peered at Ryan with furrowed brows and scrutinized the woken blond like maybe he wasn’t real, like maybe it was all in his head because he wished it to be true. But as he blinked a few times, Wilson began to realize that he wasn’t making things up. He grinned at the moon trainee. “Does it look like I’m in your room? Try taking another look around.” He gestured toward the rest of the infirmary and the occupied beds. “Glad to see you’re alive.” He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall.

“Do you remember what happened?”

Ryan blinked again. "Well it did, until you said that." Now that he was awake, he took the time to look around and could clearly see where he was. The hospital. He should have recognized it. After all, he had been here a number of times before. Though never really as a patient.

"A little bit." He answered, rubbing at his head. After the haze cleared from his mind, the last he re-called he had been cast out of Deus into the Sahara. After that the horsemen--Medea, had found them and then there was that abandoned building and-- "The battle!" Immediately he sat up, but regretted it. His head had a killer headache and his body still ached.

With a low hiss of pain, he wrapped his arm around his waist and spoke again. "What happened? Did everyone make it out okay? And..." He paused taking another look around the room. "Why am I here?"

There was actually two questions. One being why was he back at Deus when clearly he had been thrown out and two... why was he in the hospital?

Wilson leaned forward slightly like it would help him hear the trainee better. Brows knitted together, Wilson never received his answer. Rather, it was a pretty vague answer. At least he knew Ryan remembered parts of the battle. He stepped forward and reached for Ryan. “Slow down, Ryan.” Wilson carefully placed a hand on the blonde’s shoulders. “You’re in the infirmary for a reason, you know?” He laughed softly.

“Well, yeah, we made it out alright. It’s just…” Wilson frowned, his voice trailing off. “A lot of horsemen came back. From the dead. We had to retreat; Allan managed to drag you back with him. I thought Allan was gone, but, uh.” He stopped as he recalled the sun leader’s return. “He came back.”

He raised an eyebrow at him. Wilson gently poked Ryan in the head. “Isn’t it obvious? You’re injured.” The hunter leaned back as he scrutinized him. “And judging from a few moments ago, I’d say you should keep resting.”

"Well yes but.." His voice trailed off as he listened. Fortunately it sounded as though everyone had made it out alright and that there had been no casualties. But...

"How did that happen? I thought they had been.." To put it bluntly, he thought they had gone up in that explosion when their islands had been blasted off the face of the Earth. Surely Wilson didn't mean those same horsemen were back. What, were they like the creatures of Halloween and just re-spawned or something? Wasn't that a pleasant thought...

With another headache surfacing, he was about to ask what he meant about Allan 'disappearance,' when the poke to the head distracted him. "I got that much, thanks. Though I didn't think it was anything bad enough to be hospitalized." Or at least he didn't before. Did he collapse or something?

At the mention of resting, he wrinkled his nose in distaste.

"No thanks.. at least not here. I don't mind visiting the hospital, but staying in one makes my skin crawl." He wanted to get out of here is what he wanted to do.

Wilson shrugged helplessly. “Can’t say I know how it happened. It hasn’t even been a few days since we got back. I haven’t had the time to research and investigate the matter, but I’m sure some other death hunters are on the case already.” He leaned against the bedpost as he tried to offer Ryan anything else useful to satisfy him for the moment. “The orb. I think…the orb has to partially do with it? Didn’t it break just before they came back?” He shook his head. “Don’t hold me to my word on that, though.”

“Well, for starters you’re still weaponless,” he answered with a wry look, “and both you and Kat had to walk through the cold with very little protection. Then you were thrown into battle, etcetera etcetera.” He crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at Ryan. “I’m surprised you came to so quickly, actually.” Then he grinned. “But I’m glad for it.”

The older hunter rolled his eyes, but grinned as he held an arm out for the trainee to grab. “Normally I wouldn’t do this, but for you I’ll do it just this once. Back to your dorm, I assume?”

That bit of news made him feel uncomfortable. It was bad enough that they had the remains of the four clans pissed at them before. But the entire clan, revived and angry? The very thought of them all out there, waiting, was unnerving.

"Orb?" He repeated, confused about what the death hunter was referring to, but then recalled the round object, along with the offer that had been made to him. "Oh... that. Its gone now though, right?" But if he was here and everyone was alive, then did that mean Caelius really was dead? Truth be told, he hoped that was the case. He preferred a world without that cold hearted b*****d. In fact, just recalling the blood spatter now made him smile.

"I figured as much." He gripped the one arm that had been broken and frowned. Considering all that's happened, he doubted they'd be putting a weapon back in his hands any time soon. If at all. "Me too, though I don't feel as though I've been asleep that long." More like he felt as though he had woken up from a brief nap. Minus the headache.

"Normally you wouldn't have to." There might have been a slight smile when Wilson offered his hand towards him, before Ryan took it. "Yes, please."

“I think so?” Wilson answered tentatively.

He grinned. “Well, technically it wasn’t too long, but then again I wasn’t timing it. Not like I would.”

He gripped Ryan’s hand before he bent down and scooped Ryan up into his arms. “It’s a good thing you’re smaller than I am, otherwise I’d have to carry you like some sack of potatoes like I did for Dakota waaay back when.” Wilson would have waved his hand offhandedly, but he was a bit preoccupied. With the trainee in his arms, Wilson cautiously looked around the infirmary before quietly exiting.

The pair received a few puzzled looks on the way to the dorms, but Wilson calmly smiled back as he continued on toward Ryan’s room. “Alright. Here’s your dorm.” He knelt down to put Ryan down and half-nodded toward the door.

"I would have to question your habits if you did count."

When Wilson offered his hand towards him, Ryan had expected a hand onto his feet. What he he wasn't expecting was to get picked and carried princess style back to the dorms. "H-hey! Hey Wilson! I can walk you know!" He hissed. More out of embarrassment than anything else. Now he only hoped there wasn't anyone around as he settled for glowering. "Dakota's a friggin' giant." He decided to point out in the mean time. "The fact that you managed to pick him up at all is a feat in itself."

After the looks and by the time they actually arrived back at the dorm, Ryan was salvaging what was left of his dignity by trying to stand up without wobbling on his two feet. "Thanks for the ride." He muttered, reaching for the door--which apparently was decorated with a red scarf and other items laid out in front of the door. Further investigation would show that they were Christmas gifts. "I forgot Christmas was this close." He said more to himself than, as he gave the door knob a twist.

Locked.

"Er..."

“But you’re still not well. It’s better if you don’t exert yourself too much,” Wilson murmured back, but couldn’t stop himself from grinning at Ryan. Giving his bro a bit of embarrassment was admittedly fun, but he’d never tell anyone else that. Nooo. He managed to shrug as he carried the trainee back to his dorm. “He was unconscious and Caelius was pissed, what was I supposed to do?”

He smiled at Ryan. “Anytime.” Wilson curiously eyed the items neatly arranged in front of the door. He pressed his lips together as he spotted his own present and carefully stood behind Ryan while he tried the door. Wilson leaned to the side as Ryan struggled to open the room. “Locked?” He frowned. “I guess they weren’t expecting you or Kat to be coming back anytime soon.” The hunter hummed. “Well, until you get that figured out, you can stay in my room.” Grinning, he patted Ryan on the shoulder. “I’m a full hunter, so my room is pretty nice. You should check it out.”

There was a grumbled response, something that the death hunter was more than likely used to. Regardless of what Wilson said, Ryan was pretty sure he could have walked on his own. Probably. Maybe. "Caelius is always pissed. But I still can't believe you managed it." Really. He couldn't even picture it.

"Maybe.." He gave the door knob another twist before giving the door itself a kick and gave up. "'Back anytime soon?' Heh, I don't think they expected us back at all." Kind of made him wonder what happened to his stuff. Not that he had much to start with, but still. "I think first thing I need to do is to see if I'm even 'alive.'" Well there wasn't much he could do about it now. They had probably packed up his room so fighting to get in was pointless. "You're sure?" He asked, plucking the red knitted scarf from the door knob and placing it around his neck. Not that he didn't appreciate the offer, but he didn't want to inconvenience Wilson either. "Wait--when did you get promoted?" Admittedly, he hadn't even noticed.

Wilson shrugged. “I was trying to be positive here, but yeah, I don’t think Caelius expected you and Kat coming back.” He nodded at Ryan. “You can talk to some of the other hunters and see if they know where your stuff is, and you could also look at the database or something. There are a lot of things you could do, I think.” Grinning, he bent down to pick up some of the gifts placed in front of Ryan’s doorway. “Of course. You’re my friend. If you need a place to stay, you’re more than welcome to room with me.”

Then he frowned and quirked an eyebrow at Ryan. “You didn’t notice the completely different jacket?” He put down the things in his arms to show off the coat before he picked up the items again. “I guess this is why you aren’t in Death,” he noted with a wry grin. “Come on. I’ll show you to my room. It’s up on the second floor.”

There was a small grin at that comment. "I wasn't expecting to be back either, to be honest. I still can't believe that we are." Though he wondered what would happen if they were to be found out. What if they still weren't permitted back. Would they be cast out again? If they were, he hoped it was somewhere with a friendlier environment. "I'll see if I can find anything out, but thank you. I really appreciate it."

Ryan had just found the hoodie Wilson had left for him and was pulling it on when he finally took a good look at the hunter. "You really thought I would notice something like that?" True, he probably should have noted the lack of Wilson's hoodie, but really, Ryan never observed these things. "I don't think Death division would put up with me regardless." He countered, tugging the hoodie down and in place before he picked up whatever remained and followed after Wilson, giving a mock salute. "Sure thing Mr. Hunter."
