 Welcome
The world is covered in a poisonous gas called Miasma, and the only thing that keeps settlements from succumbing to the miasma are large crystals. The crystals must be refilled with three drops of Myrrh each year in order to keep its radiant glow that ward of the miasma. The people sent by the towns to do so are Crystal Caravans. The Caravan brave monsters, miasma and long times away from home, in order to fill the Crystal Chalice with Myrrh for the large crystals. The Caravan is essential for a town to survive, but is a hard burden to bare. What if the Tipa Caravan had never found a way to end the miasma, what if it fell to the next Tipa Caravan?

Da Rules1. Have fun and keep it PG-16, meaning I'll let swearing slide, but not the horizontal tango. Just keep that out of this RP.
2. Be at least semi-literate. NO TEXT SPEAK! and each post must have a minimum of a paragraph.
3. Send all profiles to me for approval, and once it's approved you'll post it here.
4. Please no characters with tragic pasts, they all grew up in Tipa together.
5. If you know nothing of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, feel free to look at the basic facts here and drop me a PM with the subject "What is Crystal Chronicles?", or you can get a general synapses of the game here.
6. Please note that Tipa is diverse, so I won't have more than 3 characters of each Tribe in the Caravan.
7. Keeping true to the game, in each dungeon one of the Caravaners will have to hold the Crystal Chalice and the others must keep close to them as the Chalice protects them from the Miasma in the dungeons.
8. Please no god moding, I don't like it, he doesn't like it, and you probably hate it, too. So just don't do it.
9. Keep in mind that this is my RP, and what I say goes. That means consult me before you post an idea. I may have planned something different.
10. If you read the rules please enter a gaia_kittenstar anywhere in your profile that you PM to me for approval.

The Four Tribes Four tribes occupy the lands covered in Miasma, and Tipa is one of the more diverse towns housing all four. Each tribe has its own advantages and disadvantages, so one must keep that in mind. Clavat:Clavats are very human-like in their appearance, and peaceful by nature. They use swords and shields in combat. Clavats are traditionally farmers. Clavats feature the strongest defense and powerful magic-casting abilities. The most balanced of the four races, Clavats are the jack of all trades and master of none. They usually have Blonde, Brown, Red, and Black hair. They can interbreed with Lilty, and Selkie. Lilty: Lilties are a short, stout people, with reddish fur, leafy hair and something of a mane. They don gauntlets and wield spears as their weapons. Lilties are traditionally warriors rather than spell casters because they have the highest attack power and worst magical power of all the races. Various characters will tell of a time when Lilties ruled the land with powerful soldiers keeping people safe from the threat of monsters. The Lilty have plant-like features on their heads. Male and female Lilties' sprouts differ with males having them short and sticking up while female Lilties have them long and coming down. In some cases the sprout on female Lilties head are also green and contain a rosebud. Due to their plant-like appearance, Lilty are called "Onion" by those prejudiced against them. They can inter-breed with Clavats. In fact the ruler of Alfitaria is half Clavat, half Lilty. Selkie:They are the quickest race with the quickest Focus attacks; they also have a longer range on their focus attacks than the other tribes. Overall, the Selkie excels at Speed and has decent Strength, but lacks slightly in Defense and Magic. The Selkie "Defend" command is a quick backflip that ignores all attacks and magic. Selkies use rackets as weapons, some of which shoot energy for a Focus attack. They usually wear little clothing with some animal fur. Their hair ranges are from bright colors to plain white. They are able to interbreed with Clavats. Selkies are known for being thieves, and face some prejudice outside of Lueda and Tipa. Yukes:Yukes are tall, mysterious creatures. Their appearance is humanoid in shape, but their heads are always covered by helmets and their hands look somewhat like wings. Oddly enough, they have a set of wings on their backs as well. They wield hammers in battle, but they are rarely used over spells due to having the highest magic and lowest attack. Their focus attacks take longer to charge, however. As such Yukes are traditionally scholars or magicians. While the way a Yuke dresses can help to determine its gender, it can also be determined by the tiny wings on their backs. Male Yukes' wings are in the style of bat wings, while female Yukes' wings are in the style of bird wings. In Tipa, the local Alchemist Family has created Talismans that can make Yukes look like Clavats.

Terms you might want to know As there are some people who never heard of the wonderful gem known as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, you might want to look in this area to learn some of the basic terms that are going to be used a lot. Miasma: It is a Poisonous, gaseous substance that plagues the world. It is an eternal threat to the people, and the only thing that protects them are Crystals. As Miasma is pure poison, contact with it will hurt you, and prolonged contact will kill you. It was said that long ago there was no such thing as Miasma and monsters, so people have come to associate Monsters and Miasma. The only ones who can travel through the Miasma unharmed are monsters and Moogles. Crystals: "Long ago, there existed a great crystal. People lived in their lives blessed with its radiance. One day, a great star fell from the sky and shattered the crystal. Miasma spread across the world. That was the beginning of it all." People soon discovered that the shards of the Great Crystal would protect their settlements from the Miasma, however the effect doesn't last as the Crystal needs Myrrh to replenish its protective properties. Myrrh and Myrrh Trees:When the great meteor came down from the sky, and miasma covered the planet, the survivors of the terrible destruction found shelter under the shadow of the shards of the once great Crystal. But soon they realized that the light that protected them faded, in a year, and the power of the Myrrh Tree rejuvenated the power of the crystal. However, these Myrrh Trees grew in Monster infested areas, hence the need of Crystal Caravanners. Crystal Chalices: In order to collect the Drops of Myrrh, Caravanners use the Chalice. These Chalices also have a small piece of Crystal to protect the Caravan from Miasma. In order to pass through the Miasma Streams, the Chalice's element must be changed at a hotspot in a dungeon. Crystal Caravans: "The shattered crystal's shards warded off miasma, but they still needed the water. Thus began the journey of the crystal caravan." Crystals were the only thing able to repeal the poisonous mist, but the effect would only last for about a year before it needed Myrrh to replenish its effect to ward off Miasma. So each town and settlement would send off groups of adventurers in Caravans to collect Myrrh drops from Myrrh trees found within dungeons. With them they would take the Crystal Chalice, which was not only used to collect the Myrrh drops but protect the Caravanners from the Miasma. Miasma Streams:a barrier which hinders travel between regions of the continent. Caravans without a Chalice or a Chalice imbued with the wrong element suffer drastically in a Miasma Stream, not even able to advance. Moogles like Stiltzkin seem unaffected by them, however. Miasma Streams can be found separating Tipa Peninsula, Ironmine Downs, the Vale of Alfritaria, Veo Lu, the Plains of Fum, the Rebena Plains, and the Abyss. Hot Spots: The Element of the Chalice can be changed from Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. The caravan can change the element of the chalice by using different Hot Spots. These Hot Spots are located throughout the dungeon and can either be used to change the element or teleport the party out of the dungeon. Crystal Cycles:A Crystal Cycle is completed when the Caravan collects one drop of Myrrh from the Myrrh Tree after defeating the boss of that tree's dungeon. The Caravan cannot receive another drop of Myrrh until the Myrrh Tree replenishes itself after two years have passed. The level and its monsters become increasingly difficult with each passing Crystal Cycle. Moogles:A re-occuring creature in the Final Fantasy series, Moogles in Crystal Chronicles are one of the only creatures safe from Miasma. They are mail carriers, and as such will deliver mail from home to the Caravan, after they defeat a dungeon.

Announcements Here is where you might want to look just incase I mention some things we will be doing in the RP, or if I (or anyone else who PMs me to say that they will be missing for a few days) will be gone. 20/12/2012, the RP will begin around 5:00 PM- 9:00 PM. I'll quote you guys when the RP has started. Other than that, for people who are interested in this RP and want to join in DO SO NOW. I am no longer accepting profiles for Clavats and Yukes, but the RP is in need of Lilties. Note that if you join after the Caravan has left Tipa, you will only get to join in when it turns to Year 2 for the Caravan and your character will have to be the minimum age. Other than that, have fun! 22/12/2012 Promises Unforgotten will be gone for a week, so treat his character as if he is there. He will try and catch up when he is back.

Year 1
It is almost time. The Caravan has been chosen and it has been decided that we shall set off on our quest in a few days. I can't help the feeling of excitement coursing through my veins, even though I know that this is an important task. It will be the first taste of freedom for some, and another day on the road for others, but still we must be weary of the miasma.
The village elder suggested that we gather supplies, plan ahead and spend time with our families....

Marim was polishing his helmet today was the day! He'll go out and visit many towns and battle many scary and cute monsters too, not to mention he might befriend a Moogle or two! Oh he needed a pen ink and a book to carry with him no wait two he has to have a journal for his life out on the adventure, as well as a journal for monsters they'll surely battle. So Marim we'll need lots of ink! "Hmmm hmm hm Mom where's the ink?" In his haste Marim tripped head first luckily he was wearing that helmet... His mother pointed to a cupboard and Marim took out as much ink as was possible was there a limit to what he could bring? He needed to bring lots of ink otherwise who'd study all the monsters and Miasmia? Someone had to study the dark forces and all the cute monsters.

 Niamh ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ► Drifting on a breeze only I can feel and hear ►I don't steal; I collect. There's a difference. ►OOC: ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
The weather was lovely this morning, not too cold, nor too hot. Perfect weather for helping out around the ranch. Niamh was carrying fodder and a metal jug under each arm as her two younger siblings, Fionn and Maeve, ran ahead of her with their own arms full of fodder. "Jeeze you two, slow down the cows aren't going anywhere." Niamh teased the small children as they whined and moaned for her to hurry up.
Fionn, the elder of the two at 8, huffed and stamped his foot down. "Hurry up, me and Maeve wanted to see the papaopamus!" he whined, revealing the reason he was so eager to do the chores and for once Niamh could understand. Their mother and father had kept the papaopamus under lock and key whenever it wasn't in use by the caravan and the docile creature was a treat to be near. Now that she was to be part of the caravan, her parents decided it was time she learned how to care for it, at least after her usual chores were done.
With an understanding grin, Niamh ruffled his light blue hair and made her way to the open pen for the cows and place the fodder into the bins. Maeve, the youngest at five, proudly placed the fodder right in front of a grazing cow, while Fionn sulked and placed the fodder down in the feed bin. It took a while, but soon the three finished milking the cows and moved onto the papaopamus. It was obvious that the creature was strong due to its bulky size, but the three soon lavished it with attention. Brushing, feeding, cooing (Fionn would deny this), yup the parents had a reason to keep the docile animal away from their children---they would have spoiled it.
Still, she still had some preparation to do. With a reluctant pat, Niamh backed away. "C'mon you two, Mom and Dad don't know I've taken you to see the-" She was cut off by a formidable looking man with white hair standing behind them. It was their father.
After a scolding, Niamh was now sitting on the fence surrounding the Ranch fixing up the racket given to her by her father. It was old and a bit battered, but still sturdy enough to dish out damage. She just couldn't wait to leave Tipa though! It would be her first time out of her home and hearing the romanticized stories about her father's time in the caravan just had her itching to leave. It didn't matter that they'd be in the Miasma, or fighting monsters; the thrill of the journey was calling her.

The hot tempertures raised rapidly, as Yolen poured bronze into a long wide socket. The mask he was wearing wasn't helping him either from the heat, but the time can when he placed the bronze bar into the cool water. Yolen had finished shapeing the weapons him and caravan, for when they would have to set off in a few days, as the elder instructed. He sighed softly, as he took of the iron mask, revealing his red marked face. Laughter was heard from the corner of the room, it was his little sister, Roxianna. "Brother...you're face is red." she said laughing. Yolen, rubbed the back of his head and smiled. "Yeah, of course it is. Soon I'll turn into those furry moogles you like so much." he said with a small laugh. Roxianna went over to her older brother, and placed her small arms around his neck, as he hugged him. "I'll miss you." she said, softly, her voice was almost cracking. He hugged her back, he pushed her back softly. "Roxi, I will come back. You know I always keep my promises, right?" he said, in a softly kind voice. Roxianna nodded, and still kept her grip on Yolen's neck. He sighed in defeat and picked her up, going outside to see the crystal in the small Tipa plaza. He looked down at his sister, who was still holding on to him. He looked over to his parents and older sister, Noella. Yolen nodded at them, as he walked off to the cliff on the edge of the village. During his walk, Roxianna loosened her grip on his neck, and laid her head on his shoulder as he now carried her on his back, a piggyback ride. Yolen gazed off into the distance, then down to his sister. 'I won't fail her or my family...They deserve better.' he thought, as he heard the waves clash aganist the cliff.

IZAAC It is my duty to share what knowledge I have... "Do I need to say anything? You're prepared. More so than I ever could dream to be." "Take good care of yourself out there, honey. Keep everyone safe." "If you kill a monster that's really big, tell us about it!" "And don't forget to send me anything you want us to keep safe!" With each of his little brothers on one of his shoulders, Izzac smiled softly. He was already in his armor from his many jobs as a bodyguard, looking more like a stalwart knight than a merchant's son. "I'll make you proud. It's all thanks to you that I know what I know." Izaac's father gave him a grin, patting him hard on the back. "You've got the knowledge and experience the others don't. Make sure you teach them what you can whenever you can. Especially about bombs." Izzac couldn't help but laugh, remembering a rather awkward moment in his travels. "That's a pretty good point. I'll make sure to keep that in mind." Setting down his brothers, Izzac gave his family a salute, gathering his sword from the ground and heading to the plaza. The other thing he brought on this journey was his pay from his many jobs. He would be able to keep them monetarily sound for the first year for certain unless they went crazy. ...but to anyone not of our caravan, it will be for the right price.

Roxianna was now already asleep on Yolen's shouder, he sighed softly, and began to walk down the path to the village. He remembered that he would always carry his sister around like this at night, when ever she had a bad nightmare. He wondered who will do that...when he's gone on the journey with the caravan. He pasted the Tailor's home, he adjusted Roxianna a little upwards on his back, as he continued to walk. Yolen remembered that Marim, was also coming on this journey. He was glad the little Yuke was coming along, otherwise who else would start a moogle party when they come back to Tipa...or so he thought. His father apporched him, and gave him a good ruffle to Yolen's dark hair, which was already messy enough. "Yolen...Son, you will be missed much. Make sure to upgrade everyone's weapon from time to time. It'll be useful when you face a furious foe." he said to Yolen, with a concerning smile. "I know, father. Will Roxi be all right without me?" he asked, looking at his father with gloomy eyes. "Of course. She's a strong girl...I swear you all get it from your mother. That iron will. But, Yolen...she will be fine. Noella will look after her for you." he said with a laugh. Yolen golden eyes lit up a bit hearing his father's words. He told his father, that he will go and walk around the village. Yolen, then made his way down to the village, passing by the Alchemist's house, he gazed at the house...Yolen always wanted to practice a bit more of magic, in case if he had to face an enemy weak to phyiscal attacks...or there was something in his way. He continued down to the Ranch. He gazed over at Niamh, who was on the fence, fixing some sort of weapon...looked like a racket. He walked over to her and poked her back with chin, since he couldn't use his arms. "Niamh...need help fixing that weapon you got there?" he asked, the Selkie girl.

Marim walked outside with everything he hoped he needed he also was carrying the Crystal Chalice as carefully as he could, the weight of his bag did not help however. He saw Yolen and Niamh talking. "Um...a little help?" Marim spoke trying his best to carry the darned thing. He sat it down on the ground beside him as he stood at the fence to Naimh's ranch. "Hello guuuys!!" With a thud Marim fell he hoped his ink didn't utterly destroy everything else he started rummaging to see what damage he made, perhaps his bag was a bit too heavy he had a staff he needed that....3 minutes looking into his bag he confrimed he needed everything he had in it, including the nine bottles of ink.

Niamh jumped feeling something prod her back and almost feel off of the fence if she hadn't quickly grabbed onto it. She maneuvered herself to face Yolen, who had been the one to almost scare her out of her wits. "Oh, hey Yolen," she greeted before she looked down at her racket. "Hmmm... I think it's fine, but I'm not the weapons expert... so I'm not sure." She was a bit reluctant to ask for help since it used to be her father's, but she didn't know if it would hold together after a few hits.
They were soon joined by, Marim who seemed to be thinking that they were leaving that day, because he had the Crystal chalice with him. "Uh.....you do know that we aren't leaving until a couple of days?" Niamh asked as she glanced at the Yuke. He must have been so excited that he forgot, or wanted to leave ahead of schedule.
