He was under house arrest. He still hadn't quite mentioned WHY he was under house arrest to his ghoulfriend, in fact he'd only seen her a few times this month--it'd been a busy time. And he was broke. Seriously, it was hard to make seeds when you couldn't go out and work the streets--which really sucked, because that meant he couldn't buy her presents--
Jackdammit, he thought. He would have to go with what he could--and hope she didn't dump him, he thought dryly as he finished setting up the table in the middle of his room. The table was borrowed--a small round one that one of his pals had, and so were the chairs. Candles sat on it, waiting to be lit, and a pizza box sat on the counter, waiting to be opened.
Yes. Pizza. Roch wasn't a good cook, and the only place that delivered was Spook's. Man he sucked at this romance stuff. But it was good enough, he decided, jumping to his feet and heading for the door. Now he had to get his poor ghoulfriend through all the snow.

Amphi sighed as she came back from the hunter island. Though she had gotten to see Wash, She didn't feel comforted by the trainspirings of the horseman and what was left of the hunter's land and people.
She didn't wish them ill will, but she didn't wish the horseman to wipe out humans. Without humans, their would be no FEAR to eat. Or to survive on.
But that aside, she was left a message by her boilfriend and studied it. Though she had seen hunters, she had not seen Roch for a long time.
So she stood outside his door dressed in the christmasland wear, fur trimmed dress with little boots and leggings.
"Roch?" She knocked as she held a small bag of spookies and tea. "I'm here Hun!" She smiled softly, staring at the door.

He opened the door as soon as she knocked practically, already bundled up-- "Oh! Hey! You made it without gettin' soaked! Awesome!" he said, unzipping his coat and moving out of the way to let her in. He dropped the coat on the floor behind him, as if he'd never been wearing it. Yeah.
"I didn't um... know what you wanted for dinner," he admitted. "I mean, if y'don't mind stayin' here for a date--I figured we could eat and watch a movie and--" Other things. What? A boil had NEEDS! In fact he leaned down, kissing her lightly. "I ain't seen you nearly enough, blue eyes," he said. "Things got too jackin' busy."

"Is that pizza?" She sniffed behind him and then cocked her head curiously at the boil. "Oh, I took the long way here." Aka she got lost, managed to get wet and flop her way in the reaper dorms to the fire place before drying off and changing into the acceptable christmas gift.
She flushed at the mention of staying over for a date and then nodded. "I don't mind at all! Pirates of the deadribbean right?" She looked hopeful, more Undead Captain Sparrow? O v O!?!?
She met his kiss shyly before nodding in agreement, "Between classes, homework and field trips..." TO hunter island, "I haven't been able to see you. Have you been well?"

"Uhhh..." he thought, fast. "Well I've been tryin' t'get along better with Terra, went on a field trip to Christmas land, stuff like that," he said vaguely. "Just lots of little stuff, y'know?" Yeah. Little. "And I got it delivered," he said, moving to show her the little table in the kitchen area. "We're gonna have a proper dinner! Of... pizza."
Ah well, couldn't have it all. He headed forward, pulling out her chair for her.

"Oh Terra! Your sister!" Amphi clapped her hands, thinking of the pale haired reaper. "I meant to ask but...Why is she blonde haired and your purple? Was your mom purple haired?" It was a legit question!
"Little stuff tends to build up you know." She felt horrible for hiding the fact that she went to the hunter island again but...She couldn't explain to Roch that she had gone to see Wash again.
"Pizza is a fantastic!" She tried to hold the grumbly tummy sounds in but. "Do you want some tea or anything?" Her arm came to rest on his instead, smiling up at him. "I wanted to say Merry christmas as well. Thank you for being my boilfriend Roch."

Roch blinked--then realized that his ghoulfriend hadn't known him until he was a third year. HOW that happened, he wasn't sure. "Well... um..." he thought about that for a moment. "I dye," he said finally, deciding not to tease her with a load of bull. "See, Pop's got blonde hair, Granddad's got blonde hair, and more often than not, when I'm blonde and I look in the mirror, I see those bastards instead of me. So when a new ghoul shows up, claimin' t'be one of the Scythes, bein' a blonde is a good indicator that she might just be one," he said.
Then he looked around, as if someone was going to hear this. "About her--y'gotta keep this quiet, okay? She ain't really my sister. She's my aunt. Granddad's kid. But tea sounds good!" And he grinned, as if he hadn't just dumped a shock on her. "And I'm glad you're my ghoulfriend, Blue Eyes."

Amphi turned her head curiously and listened to his explanition. All the while, her hand reached up to play with the hairsprayed hair, purple instead of blonde.
"I see! So all the Scythes have blonde." She patted his cheek instead and nodded.
"Oh..." She waited a beat and then..."WHAT." Aunt?!?! AUNT?!?!?
She stifled a giggle.
"She's your aunt."

"Hey now, it ain't any joke that my granddad is a randy old b*****d that--" he was snickering by this point, "can't keep his FEAR in his pants," he finished, starting to laugh. "Oh, jack, its just too good," he said, grinning like an idiot. "I mean, the BLACKMAIL we got on him right now--it'll last YEARS!" He shook his head, stopping his laughter. "C'mon, let's eat! I've been smellin' this stuff for who knows how long, I'm starvin!" He headed for the box of pizza, pulling it open.

The giggle melted away though as she thought of her visit to the hunter island again, worrying at her lip because it was dying to come out. Instead she focused on her boil, keeping her tone light and her mind clear.
At least for now...
She sat down next to him, drawing a piece out and nodded.
"It is delicious! It's a shame that Terra couldn't be here to enjoy with her Nephew and his ghoulfriend." She was happily munching away, finishing half of the piece before she spoke again.
"So I went to the hunter Island.." She was smiling at first, but her brain didn't process till after she said it that she had literally said what she didn't want to.
No.
No oh Jack, that wasn't suppose to come out. Her eyes widened as she dropped her piece and looked at Roch. Her face falling instantly.
Oh jack no. oh no no no nonononononono.
"I mean...I mean um..."

He almost let it pass. He'd been in the middle of eating, and he might have misheard or something--having his mouth full--
No, even he'd admit that was utter bull. For a reaper he had perfect hearing. It wasn't as good as monsters or anything, but that didn't mean he was DEAF.
"You... what?" he said, putting his pizza back on the plate.

Why had her brain done that? Why had it let it slip out like that? It was like her mind had said, hey by the way Amphi, we don't like the pressure of a simple secret so lets dump it on your boilfriend in the middle of eating while you guys catch up with each other after not seeing each other for so long.

Amphi on the other hand was still shell shocked, and covered her mouth with her hand. Well it was out now so the only way to move past it was talking right? some part of her knew though, this could severely hurt Roch. And her reasons to herself weren't even clear...
"I..." She scooted back a little, her eyes drawn to the floor. Confrontation was never her thing but she had to just get it out. "I went to the hunter Island. To help the hunters after the horseman attacked them again. I followed after Mei and another student as we went there...."
"And I went to see if Wash was alright..."

"Y'mean the black guy that helped us get out?" Roch said a bit unemotionally. "How was he?"
He was waging an inner battle at that moment, one he was certain he was going to win--just not certain which PART of him was gonna win...

Her hands fiddled with each other, as she worried at her lip...her fangs digging deep into the soft flesh but not deep enough to break it.
For some reason, he wasn't yelling at her so it gave a little hope that he wasn't mad. That he understood maybe what she had done.
"yes, the one who helped us escape." She continued to worry at her lip, looking still at the ground. "He was hurt, severly so...as well as his ghoulfriend...and most of the hunters. A lot of them were dead when I went to the Island with one of the hunters, The horseman killed a lot of them...But not for revenge. They killed them for FEAR and summoned back all their friends and families back..."
It didn't make sense, "Because the horseman are FEAR but those humans aren't. Humans don't come back from dying...." She looked at him a now and it was with a odd expression, one she didn't quite understand herself. "I went to see if I could help them. if I could help heal them..."

"Ah, yeah, it was so hard on them," Roch said, his eyes a cold, steely silver as he looked at her. "Soooo hard. Do you remember what they did to you, blue eyes? What they did t'your pals in there?" he asked her. "Did you know I almost lost Danny because of them?" he asked almost mildly. "She stopped movin', then started to fade away--I couldn't touch her, couldn't take her with me. Shun went the same way. A couple of others. Then they blocked the way from us leavin'," he went on. "Hell, I'm still stuck with the jackin' SYMBOL of the horsemen stuck on my shoulder that it took to GET there. Sure I covered it up with a tattoo, but I still can see it..." He gritted his teeth, trying to calm himself down.
