Hello, hello. My main plot thread is here if you want to look at other stuff. This, though, will be a thread for when I'm looking for something in specific. This thread has been / will continue to be recycled. It was last updated on May 31st, 2013.
Let's get down to business (TO DEFEAT THE HUNS).
Meet Gable. He is the Muvukol in the Nergui pride. The Nergui information is here. As for what the muvukol does...
The manager of the civilians, emkurcar. They must be skilled in all the day to day duties that their 'employees' undertake so that they know when a good job is being done. Unlike the Warlords, the martinet governs a range of different lions and lionesses and not all of them will be as disciplined as the soldiers. As such, the muvukol must be a firm lion and one who exudes a threatening order to keep everyone in line. As such, the lions serving under him are often wary and nervous when in his presence.
Quite often, the converted slaves will begin life in the Nergui as an emkurcar and these will need a watchful eye to ensure that they stay in line and embrace their new life.
If there comes a time when the number of emkurcar becomes unmanageable, he may appoint a helper or two to keep them in line and ensure that their duties are continued. He also has the ability to dish out punishment for minor failures (such as slacking or squabbling).
There is only ever one muvukol at any given time and this rank is one that can also be held by a strong female who has proven that she has the ability to keep strong-willed lions in line.
Muvukol are addressed by their rank or with the honorific 'Kal' after their name.
Any enforcer looking to be promoted to braak or shuko must receive a recommendation from this lion.
Daily duties might include;
- Managing the emkurcar - Appointing temporary support staff - Introducing himself to new emkurcar - Dealing with minor crimes - Reporting to superiors - Converting the more stubborn slaves - Overseeing emkurcar as they are carrying out their duties.
For him, I'm mainly looking for any/all of the following...
OHGAWD MY HEAD WRY:: Gable suffered a head injury as a youngster which has left him plagued by headaches that come and go. Being the tough dude he is, he can typically push through it, but. Truly brutal migraines take no prisoners, and Gable's are such a hindrance that they are the reason he has not (and likely never will be) promoted to Warlord (nor will he pursue it, knowing this).
A lion/ess or hyena with some kind of mix of herbs / tonic / whatever that can soothe these somehow is liable to be his new best friend. Could be a character already in the pride or someone he finds in the rogue lands. Could be combined with the mate thing (see below).
I should note I am not looking for a one-RP-solves-everything scenario, but rather multiple RPs where various combinations of medicines are tested -- some which work, some which work only briefly, some which don't work at all or even make him sick.
I think I wanna marry you ~ :: Because of his rank, it's expected he'll eventually "marry" (in accordance to the Nergui's definition of it). Gable would not be a cruel mate, but it's unlikely he'll ever be romantic either. He's the kind of guy to respond to "I love you" with "I know."
The Nergui value natural / dark colors, strange eyes, rune / other peculiar markings, and a good fighting spirit. It is, however, unlikely that he would take a mate who has all these qualities as the Nergui males are known to challenge each other for the most highly prized females. He already has enough s**t to deal with, gawd u gais.
Any combination of those features would be ideal, but if a lioness comes along who has the remedy for his migraine issues, he will definitely take her as a wife.
Take care of my fish while I'm gone!:: Gable keeps pet fish in a stone enclosure he made along one of the shallow parts of a nearby river. He is genuinely fond of them and is on the look out for someone who isn't any idiot to tend to them should he ever be too wrapped up in his work.
Also looking for...
General Nergui RP:: Unfortunately, Gable is not the kind to chitchat with just anyone, so some of these RPs may be brief encounters. We can always discuss this OOC!
RP with the enforcers (emkurcar):: Given it's Gable's job to keep the civilians in line, he can often be found doing just that.
Connections:: Any born-and-raised (and likely male) Nergui who could have been his buddy growing up. Any females he may have had a type of summer romance with. Any and all opportunity for him to have ties with the other natives.
RP with the slaves:: Another part of Gable's job is converting the less-than-cooperative dhlurr to the Nergui ways. If he can't break their spirit, he'll break their bones instead. While it's noteworthy Gable's goal is to convert rather than throw his weight around, those that are particularly stubborn are at risk of being harmed not only by him, but the superiors he will begrudingly report to if need be.
Recommendation for Promotion RP:: If you have an enforcer looking to be recommended for promotion, Gable is always available to discuss it.
I will be posting something here after work today :3

Okay, so this might turn out to be quite a long post, please forgive me if so!
I'm offering these boys as potentials because...well...they've not had mates before or any love in fact and I keep holding off because I want something special for them and haven't quite found it yet. This seems like such an interesting idea that I had to try! I also won't be offended if the characters I offer aren't suitable for your girl. Reading through her information I could also offer these (and a few other characters, in fact) as friends!
It is also pure coincidence that these guys I am offering are all linked in some way XD!!!
Rap is not the most good-looking of fellows, I shall be the first to admit, but what he lacks in looks he - hopefully - makes up for in personality. He has quite a complicated backstory which I'll explain in as brief a fashion as possible. He was born after the Firekin civil war into the 'traditionalist' pride though he doesn't maintain any beliefs of a traditionalist. His mother ended up being killed and Rap grew up believing that the Simo Firekin were responsible for it. Angry and desperate for vengeance, he recruited another young Firekin to his cause and together they plotted to assassinate a figurehead in the Simo to send a clear message. When the traditionalist pride was forced to disband - having to begrudgingly admit that without change they would not be able to pass on their blood - Rap (along with most of his family) took to the rogue lands. It was there that he met his foster father and began his training in preparation to take his revenge. Long story short, it all went horribly wrong and during the event his foster father was killed and Rap only survived because one of his relatives living in the Simo took pity on him. After that, crippled with guilt and grief, Rap helped raise his foster father's children and then - when they were old enough - left to strike out alone. Since then he has led a rather tormented life and, in his last rp, he discovered that the Simo were not responsible for his mother's death which has him in quite a state.
The back story portrays Rap as being quite a depressive downer, but he's not really like that at all. He's a very emotional lion, openly able to show joy, love, sadness and anger. And his kindness and loyalty burns as bright as his rage does. He's a good-hearted lion who means well but allows his emotions to drive him and they often get in the way of him seeing a situation in its true light. He would certainly not hesitate in rescuing someone in need - whether lion or avian. He's also quite talkative and does not hold back in saying what he feels.
His current situation is that he is seeking out a brother whom he also thought died long ago, though he has yet to come across him.
The only potential issue with Rap is that if you were thinking of your girl rejoining the swampies I'd be a bit hesitant as he's rather attached to his name. (Or should I say, I'm attached to it?) You could say it's his only link to his mother and his roots and he doesn't want to forget them. And whilst he's not a spiritual lion at all, he's pretty open-minded which would mean her beliefs wouldn't bother him.
A verrrry special boy this one is. He's the grandson of my first pride-lined lioness whom I got years, and years ago. And, whilst his mother and grandmother found awesome plots of their own, this boy has not. His grandmother actually ended up dying young after suffering at the hands of the Firekin and lived as a slave for the whole of her adult life until she later escaped. The current regent of the Firekin was responsible for breaking her out of her bonds and she left the lands - pregnant with another slave's cubs - giving birth to them in the Kusini'Mwezi. She died soon after and many of her cubs were born weak and small. Ruia's mother was one of those and she grew up bitter and angry at the Firekin for taking away her mother. Because of this she actually ended up going to the desert - with the aid of her mate - and killing an elderly Firekin (Rap's mother, lolol) and has been haunted by it ever since.
Ruia is sweet and gentle and a dreamer and now that he is fully grown he is more often out in the rogue lands than he is at home. He has been travelling alone and with his best friend Uddhava (the brother that Rap is seeking) and has recently returned to the lands where his mother finally told him about her evil act.
Ruia is currently unsure how to react to this and though he still loves his parents, is unsure how they could possibly have let their anger drive them to do what they did. Because of this he is back out in rogue lands, trying to sort out everything in his head and, perhaps, to find a way to fix his broken family.
All in all he is a kind lion who can be nervous/shy of new things but quickly adapts to accept them. I wouldn't mind about having his name changed if your girl wanted to return to the swampies if she finds them. He'd also be happy to adopt the beliefs of the swamplands for his own.
Khet is, in fact, Rap's nephew, born into the Dawnwalkers when Ngoma'mwale (his dad) left with his family after the traditionalists disbanded.
Khet loves his home. That is a fact. But recently, with more and more lions dispersing and his own family members taking their leave, he is beginning to feel more and more unsettled though cannot even begin to think that there might be somewhere else to go.
He is what you might call, a 'knightly' character. He helps those in need and stands up for the weak and his temper can flare at the sight of injustice. However, you could say that one of his largest faults is that his view of the world is very black and white. The shades of grey, for him, are impossible to see and it doesn't matter if one had good intentions to begin with, if they hurt someone, they are wrong and need to be punished.
I'm hoping that, eventually, he'll start to realise that the world doesn't quite work like that - though that wouldn't be until he up and left. He would be up for leaving the DW if given the motive and would find her beliefs intriguing, though its likely he'd carry the DW culture with him wherever he went.
Disclaimer: I may have missed things out. But I can add/edit later!

ffff I always love your lions so much, Kim. <3
ALRIGHT. I have read through them all and man, what a hard choice! Ultimately, though, I think Rap would be the most interesting?
I try not to say anything with 100% certainty IC, since you never know for sure how RP will go, but it is veryvery unlikely Mto will ever find out the Swampies have not disbanded and, if she does, there's pretty much no chance she'll want to go back. The Swamp was her home. She's been gone so long that tons of new members have joined, cubs have been born, so on. Returning to the Swampies as a group would feel no different than just joining a group of strangers -- which Mto isn't likely to do or else she would have already.
She's varying degrees of self-aware on this issue, and if she were to find out the Swampies were still banded together, there very well might be a point where she thinks, hey, I have GOT to join up with these guys! This is where I belong! But once there, she'd realize it isn't anymore.
Mto would also have a lot of pity for Rap's sad story, especially now when she's understandably depressed and suffering her own loses. She pretty much can't resist the call to help others (sometimes complaining along the way, but helping none the less, which is why she went out of her way to rescue Ariza). On that note, want to help him find his brother. I imagine she would start out with the laid back attitude of hm, okay, I'll keep an eye out for him. Buuut it would quickly become something more intense and, in a way, become a mission that would benefit her to complete.
Mto has a very deep-rooted sense of failure right now. There's a lot of "What if I had gotten back sooner?" and "Why did I take so long?" and you could even say some survivor's guilt in a sense. Helping Rap would be the closest she'd get to a feeling of success and closure.
TL;DR: Rap ftw!
Hit me up on AIM whenever you get the chance and we'll discuss it more? <33 I'm ForTeamFreeWill on there.
