Xiu had spent most of her time lately cooped up in her room for a multitude of reasons, but one of which having been the snow. To say that the baku wasn't fond of the cold weather was an understatement--her race was simply not built to lope around in the snow like some others were. They didn't have naturally thick coats of fur to protect them, and so whenever she went out, Xiu made a note to bundle herself up as warmly as possible.
Which resulted in how she was dressed right now, donning a thick wool jacket, boots, and a thick scarf that conveniently hid the irremovable necklace that had attached itself around her neck. She wasn't sure what exactly had compelled her to go for a walk today, though a large part of it was probably the fact that she was going stir-crazy staying indoors all day.
The baku quietly trudged through the snow, and although she couldn't claim to like the cold, she quite like the crunch of the snow beneath her boots and the way it glittered in the light. All in all, it was a quiet day on the Amity campus.
Sigh. She almost wished that it wasn't so quiet and peaceful right now.

Whether Xiu liked it or not, her wish would soon be granted.
Riyo couldn't say she had been very fond of the snow either, for mostly similar reasons. Something, however, kept drawing her back out. Maybe it was the stark contrast to the Amityville she was used to, or the downright solitude one could find with the deathly cold snow. Maybe the JOY was ******** with her brain.
Whatever the reason, she had propped herself up against a tree, quietly observing the landscape while huddling in her layers for warmth...
When she heard the crunch. The ghoul's ears perked at the footsteps, quietly peeking from behind her tree to see just who was walking along the path. Oh. It was Xiu.
Hm.
Then Riyo got the urge to do something she couldn't quite explain. Her mittened hands reached down slowly to pick up a handful of white and form it into a lovely spherical shape and hurled it at the baku. Really, it happened before she realized what she was doing.

WHACK.
Despite herself, the baku let out a little screech as the snowball hit her in the back of her head, crumbling on impact and showering snow down the back of her coat. For a few seconds, Xiu spent some time hopping on the spot and shaking the snow out, her eyes wide at the chill going down her spine. That definitely hadn't been any bit of stray snow plopping on her from one of the trees, so who just--?!
...Riyo. As if all of her previous worries were suddenly swept away, her gaze fixated on the bakeneko standing a few paces away, and slowly, a grin curled on her lips. Oh, she was going to get revenge for that! Without hesitation, she bent down, formed a little snowball between her gloved hands, and chucked at at the ghoul.
And then she ran. She ran like hell.

As Xiu screeched, Riyo couldn't hold back a small laugh, her head peeking out from behind the tree the second the baku chucked the snowball.
The feline ate it, stepping back a few paces before she kept herself from falling. Oh. It was on.
As quick as she could, Riyo scooped up another handful of snow before chasing after her friend. "Hey! I didn't hit you in the face! That's foul play!" The cat demon shouted as she smooshed down her snow into a ball and threw it at the retreating baku. She was doing that weird thing she didn't usually do.
She was smiling.

Had she been worried about something just now? Xiu couldn't remember anymore, finding herself giggling wildly as she tried to get as far away from Riyo as she could. However, the bakeneko was faster than she was, and had impeccable aim to boot. She let out a squeal of surprise when a snowball smacked her in the backside, tripping over her own feet in that same moment. There was a distinct baku-shaped mark in the freshly-fallen snow as she pushed herself up with a little groan, but she was still grinning, not even bothering to stand up before rolling up another snowball and chucking it at her friend.
"Hey! You're one to talk about foul play!" She yelled back with a laugh, her tail swishing behind her, "You started this without any warning at all!"
[But just because she started it didn't mean that Xiu was going to let her win. She used her tail to pull over more snow, rolling them quickly between her hands until she had a small arsenal.
Bring it.

"You looked like you could use an intervent-oof!" Riyo had started when the snowball hit her in the chest.
Instead of pursuing the baku more, the ghoul fell back and created her own feline-shaped hidey hole, peeking over silently as she rolled up her own weapons of mass destruction. "you're going down ghoul." Snowballs fired rapidly towards Xiu more as an effort of distraction while Riyo started building a small wall.
And all the while, just above the duo battling on the ground, Lou sat on a tree branch in the best Christmas sweater ever. Watching. Stalking. Waiting for just the right moment to interrupt their fun. Because he was a creep like that.

Grinning from ear to ear, Xiu quickly held her arms up as she was pelted by snowballs, laughing as she picked up her arsenal and made a run for it. Ducking behind a tree, she began to build her own little fort, trying to use the tree as a cover as she did so. Every so often, she would chuck a few snowballs at Riyo to counter the ones she threw at her, but most of her focus went into making the most epic fort that she could.
...Or well, a fort that consisted of a single, messily built wall, but it was better than nothing!
"I kind of did need an intervention," Xiu admitted, calling from over her wall as she threw another snowball at the other ghoul, "...And I have to say that this is definitely the best kind of intervention I could have!"
Another laugh, and then she quickly went back to trying to fortify her wall as best as she could, blissfully oblivious to the boil who was watching them from above.

Riyo couldn't lie to herself. The fact that she'd somehow made Xiu's day by pummeling her with snow was a pretty good feeling. It made no sense, but it was a good feeling.
Xiu's and Riyo's fort were almost alike in structure... Being that they were both a single slightly flimsy wall. One of Xiu's snowballs managed to make a hole in her defense. Big enough to be a peek hole.
Meanwhile, Lou made some weapons of his own. Rolling up a snowball, he packed it tight to make sure it would sting and hurled it at the feline below just as Xiu threw some of hers.
"OW. Jack Xiu." Riyo screeched and looked over at the baku with a big frown. "That one ******** hurt..." She hadn't realized the ghoul had it in her.

There was nothing more distracting--or more fun--than a snowball fight. While Xiu usually wasn't a big fan of snow, she had to admit that it had some uses at least (beyond looking pretty). She was sure that she would be cold, wet, and shivering by the end of this, but that wasn't anything that a cup of tea or hot cocoa and a warm room couldn't fix. Maybe Riyo would like to join her--
The baku paused, her eyes widening slightly at the screech. She was posed with a snowball in her hand, her arm halfway through the motions of a throw when she froze. Blinking at her friend blankly, she looked between the bakeneko and the snowball that had yet to leave her hand.
...
"...But I didn't even throw yet."

Riyo's face turned from anger, to disbelief, to confusion all in the span of five seconds. She stared at the snowball Xiu had in her hand, then immediately started scanning the area. There... Was nobody.
Signaling a time out, the feline stood from her shoddy fort and peeked behind the nearest trees, all the while failing to cover where she was most vulnerable: above her. "... I don't get it." She finally called back to the baku, turning back and walking towards her little station.
And then got pummeled from above. Practically buried in snow. "FUUUCK!" Riyo screeched as she keeled over.
All the while, Lou was holding back his laughter. Though he did temporarily look the baku's way and wave.

When Riyo gave the signal for a timeout, Xiu let the snowball drop from her hand, her tapir-shaped ears perking up slightly as she pushed herself up to her feet and out from the safety of her makeshift wall. She hadn't seen the hit so she didn't know which direction the snowball had come from, but--
"Riyo!" She squeaked, her tail suddenly lashing behind her when she realized that the person responsible was above the bakeneko. In an instant, she was pushing herself forward and through the snow, scrambling to get to her friend. "Are you okay? Do you need my scarf?" She tried to pat off as much snow from her friend as she could before stretching out a hand to offer her some help up.
And then she actually looked up and realized who it was who was waving at her.
..."Lou!" And there were those puffed cheeks. "Come down here right now!"

Riyo didn't move, but the groaning sounds were enough to indicate she'd be just fine. "I feel like... I just got hit by a snow truck." The ghoul groaned, muffled by the snow.
Uh oh! Cat was out of the bag... Or on the ground reeling from the snowball attack.
Shrugging, the boil's form dissolved into one hundred small bats and reformed right behind the baku. "Sweet cheeks! So good to see you." He opened his arms with the intent to hug her. "Merry Christmastival! I came to join in your reigndeer games." And potentially corrupt any fun that might've been had, as per the usual Lou activities.

Poor Riyo. Xiu's ears remained drooped down as she looked at the bakeneko, but they immediately perked up in alarm when a certain someone decided to appear beside her. The tip of her tail poofed out into a fluffy ball when Lou held out his arms, her expression becoming wary.
"Merry...Merry Christmastival," She echoed slowly, looking uncertain. Lou always tended to confuse her a bit, she would admit--she was never sure how to deal with him or the way that he acted. As per usual, he didn't seem like a bad person, so to speak, just...
...Rude. And mischievous. And kind of mean sometimes. And--
--okay this wasn't sounding good. Puffing out her cheeks again, the baku stared at him disapprovingly. "Was that really necessary?"

Well. She hadn't quite denied him, so old Lou decided to go through with the hug. Mmmm yes. Physical contact.
Instead of answering her question or even acknowledging it, the boil seemed content to smile and act innocent. "I got you somethiiiiing." Because that was the way to take anyone's mind off of a bad deed. Apparently he'd been hiding a medium sized box under the back of his sweater this whole time. He... MIght've been following her for awhile. What a creeper.
But it was wrapped real nice. With a little paper bat tag that said 'Sweet Cheeks'. "Hope you like it." Though all things pointed to the fact that she wouldn't, because what was inside that box was far from decent.
It was... Sexy lingerie.
All the while, Riyo was busy secretly digging at the snow to reach the ground under. Rocks were going in her next snowballs.

Xiu immediately stiffened at the contact, but relaxed slowly, hesitantly lifting one hand to give the vampire's back a light pat in return for the hug. That was...uh, satisfactory, right?
She waited until he drew back, her expression somehow managing to become simultaneously worried and surprised when he announced that he had gotten her something. Looking hesitant, the baku reached out to take the present with wide eyes. "I, ah...thank you, Lou. You really shouldn't have." There was a pause, and then she furrowed her brows, staring at the present blankly. "Would you prefer I open it here and now, or wait until Christmastival is here?"
Aka. would you rather have a grumpy Xiu now or later?
The baku was completely unaware as to what her bakeneko friend was doing. Otherwise, she would have been certain to stop he--...well...well she probably would have stopped her, yeah.
