Bazzite had never won a battle before but somehow, tonight, it didn't bother him.
He had another mission in mind.
He overheard other captains - people his rank - taking starseeds and using them in emergencies as a battery of sorts. They were saying how important it was to have one on your person at all times. Bazzi definitely thought his General Benitoite would be proud of him to possess a starseed. He knew them came from senshi and saw Beni pull one out of a senshi's chest but he didn't really know anything beyond that.
For now, he was running along the rooftops looking for someone to test his theory. And he was in luck - somewhere in the distance was a senshi of lower level than him which made him think this would be an easy hit-and-run. It should be, right? He was a captain after all. It took him a long time to get to this point but he was proud! And rightfully so! Quickly, he lined himself up to be directly above the senshi and made his jump, hoping to land on her.
Little did he know that it wouldn't be so easy.

People bumped into one another all the time in the street and didn't react. There were apologies, sometimes flinches, but most people were trained not to punch the first thing that touched them.
Most people, however, didn't feel a thick sense of dread which grew from something small to an unbearable ache in the chest within seconds. If they did, it was rarely finished with a heavy, slamming weight.
Run.
It was funny, in times like these, how the brains instinct wasn't to fight. It was merely get out, get out. But instead of running, both of her knees hit the dirt, scraping against white denim and tearing a hole in the right pantleg. Her arms hit next, luckily equally as covered, though her eyes were wide with shock.
"Hey!" came Pandora's loud, snapping sound of surprise, before she swung and elbow back, searching for any and every exposed fleshy target she could hit. Her legs were already shifting, scrambling as she tried to move.

She wasn't supposed to know he was coming!Bazzite sort of hit his target, or rather, hit and then slid off her like so much rain water, especially after taking an elbow to his gut. He did not expect that reaction at all! The captain tucked and tumbled a few feet before spazzing and standing again. This was not how he planned it at all! It was like she knew he was there at the last second and... ...oh, yeah the whole 'sensing other people' thing probably got in the way, didn't it? Bazzite shook his head, digging into his pockets to find his new metal shuriken. He'd finally gotten enough practice not to stab himself when reaching for them (for they were but folded paper before and he still had trouble remembering that). Taking up a stance like Aubrey had taught him to, Bazzite frowned and attempted to look less constipated and more intimidating. Intimidation was hard - he wasn't confident like other captains. He would rather hit and run and be done with it. "Look, I just want a starseed, okay?"

The lack of weight allowed Pandora to scramble to her feet, breaths coming in strong and fast. She whirled on her opponent quickly, the fear slowly being replaced by a different emotion, just as strong.
Pandora could barely hear the member of chaos, with how her blood rushed through her head and ears. It didn't matter, she'd already chosen a course of action. Not only was she in danger, but she was as much as trapped. If he was anything like the Eternal Senshi, he'd be faster; outrunning him was not an option.
So she threw caution out the window, as she was wont to do, and leapt the small distance straight towards him. She bet she could still give him a waterfall of a nosebleed.
"Like heck," she snarled at him. That was an attack. "Were you going to pick off a few civilians on the way home, too?" Pandora was wonderful at making assumptions, and when they involved the chaos faction, they were so easy to make.

Bazzite sputtered as Pandora's hands closed around his jacket and he ended up on his back. He remembered a little about what Aubrey was telling him before - learning to fall to minimize damage. That much he did remember but it wasn't sure how much this would help him. Landing on the ground with a senshi on top of him, he felt a fist would be planted in his face soon. "Psh! Civilians don't have starseeds I can use, duh!" he explained. Didn't this chick know that starseeds grew back and all that? Bazzite just didn't understand what all the fuss was about and why senshi put up so much of a fight to protect them. Beni made it look so easy. This wasn't easy! He struggled beneath her and she seemed much more muscled than she looked. She wasn't moving. Bazzite frowned. "Look, how's about this - you run. If I catch you then you give me your starseed! Doesn't that sound fair?" He smiled brightly. Seemed simple enough, right?

When the captain went down, it was alarming even to Pandora. There had been resistance, but she had overcome it. The adrenaline surged through her blood and the corners of her lips twitched.
But the way he didn't struggle underneath him made her tense muscles hesitate. He was talking while Pandora hissed in angry breaths. His comments, however, refueled the flame as though it had never died down at all.
You weren't supposed to kick someone when they were down, but no one ever said not to hit them until they bled. The rules had to be different in war, and this was a war. They were killers, even choking would perhaps not be a rough death. Her heart took two skipped beats. Easy, Pandora.
She raised a hand and backhanded him once, sharply across the face by his jaw. Give him a bruise to remember, but don't hurt him any further. He deserves it.
"You're sick. Get out of my sight," was her answer.
Then, she made what could have been her worst mistake: shifting her weight to get up, and allow him to make another move. A move she simply assumed to be running away.

You're sick. Get out of my sight.Well that was rude. And the slap across the face wasn't nice either. Once Bazzite's eyes stopped rolling around in his head, he looked downright offended. That was going to leave a mark in the morning he'd have to explain to Alex and Bazzi wasn't looking forward to that. Not one bit. He bit his lip too which caused blood to spritz from his mouth from the force of the slap. This wasn't working... Once Pandora started to move to get up, Bazzite took the opportunity. He was terrible as a hand-to-hand fighter and had no advantage up close. He had to get some distance. Giving Pandora a firm shove, the captain scrambled to his feet and ran at a decent pace about halfway down the street. When he felt his momentum increasing, the captain turned quickly on his heel and rocketed back towards Pandora. Bazzite fully intended to knock her down with speed rather than strength, especially since he had none of that to speak of!

As Bazzite rocketed away, Pandora became slowly aware of the sting in her knuckles. She'd left nothing out of that swing. Hardened green eyes followed his motions down the street, her fists still closed at her sides.
Then, he turned.
Pandora's brain went wild. It was processing like mad, trying to put the two together. By all rights, he should have been running, but he wasn't. He was either dumb, or knew something she didn't.
By the time Pandora had decided, their bodies had made contact. Blindly, she reached out for something to grip onto.
The world span. There was a dull sense of scraping along her back. The weight above her was sickening, all-consuming. Her mind began to panic. She stopped caring about the rules. It was impossible to tell whether the strong flush of heat in her head was related to bleeding wounds or simply the pulse of overwhelming adrenaline.
"Green Eyes," she muttered out, her voice weak. She was back in that place again. With her eyes having started to speckle, her fight was blind. She held tight to what she knew she'd gripped onto, and kicked wildly with her legs. Any space she felt open up, she attempted to close off again with whatever impact she could manage.Lucifer Force Sailor Scout Attack: Green Eyes

The intense feeling of burning was not something the captain had expected. No, he'd expected more punches and kicks, maybe some biting or a headbutt. Not burning! But he couldn't give up now. Not when what he came for was right beneath his fingertips! Bearing his teeth, Bazzite did his best to power through the feeling of his blood and skin being lit aflame. It was a terrible sensation and he wanted to up and peel off a couple layers of his skin to alleviate it. No, he had to persevere! Reaching one hand down to Pandora's chest, the captain tried to remember what Benitoite did to produce the starseed. He could feel its energy pulsing there rapidly like a heartbeat. There had to be some way to extract it. Brows furrowed and he concentrated, mentally digging his fingers into her chest so he could feel the little crystal in his hands. He could almost feel it, taste it... it was the battery he was looking for and no doubt Benitoite would be so proud of him when he brought one home! But Pandora... she was looking almost... ashen? Bazzite paused, releasing his grip on the starseed and sat up. Beni didn't say anything about that... just the sight scared him and chilled him to the bone. He didn't want to say it, didn't want to give thought and words to what he just sickeningly realized. The captain was stunned, just staring at the senshi beneath him. He didn't know... not until now.

It wasn't working.
What was the point of a power if it did absolutely nothing? It didn't stop Liberty from struggling, now more determined than ever. That, also, did not stop what came next.
His hand was at her chest. Liberty's mind flashed rapidly into the fear of being taken advantage of, before a much different reality found her. No, his hand wasn't at her chest, it was moving into her chest. The senshi opened her mouth to scream. . .
. . . and the next aware thought she had was throwing her head forwards in shock. It took her a matter of milliseconds to remember where she was, what she'd been doing. The panic and agression completely overpowered every sensible thought that would be left in her mind.
The space between them allowed her to pull a left hook that hit with a resounding crack. She hesitated no time following with a second. The resistance was terrifying, and they were still too close. Her elbows followed, and as she started to get on her feet, she even used her knees.
"Don't touch me. Don't you dare touch me." It wasn't a command, an order, simply a seeping of words that somehow gave her some confidence. The hot pound in her chest had never been such a comfort, and such an inspiration.
So much for not kicking someone while they were down. Liberty kicked and hit until there was no resistance. Until her target acted as no more than a punching bag, and then all that filled the air was the shuddering, loud sounds of harsh, wavering breathing. She didn't feel strong enough to stand, so she drug herself backwards with her arms until she was no longer near what was once her opponent and then drew her legs into her chest. Staring.Lucifer Force (( Wrap, on my side! Think we could start a reg for the next half? And by "we" I mean me, since I have one in mind. ))

Bazzite was too stunned by this sickening realization to do much of anything against Pandora's assault. Deep down, he didn't blame her at all for fighting back. Now that he knew, the captain understood why they fought back. He was so misguided before, so naive. The fact that Benitoite could do this without batting an eyelash meant he was much more suited to be a General than Bazzite was. Benitoite could do things only the best of the best could do. He could do things that needed to be done despite the horror they wrought. The captain almost accepted the punches she was throwing in shame. How could he have not known? How could he have not known?The darkness overtook him quickly. He thought of it as sleeping. Maybe he wouldn't wake up? Kaelyndra Dat works for me! emotion_kirakira
