This herd is based on the Dark Brotherhood in the Elder Scrolls games.
The Brotherhood is a secretive underground group of assassins run by the Nightmother and her Black Hand.

Beliefs and Rules

Under the rule of the Nightmother, all members must follow the Five Tenets.

I. Never dishonor the Night Mother. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
II. Never betray the Dark Brotherhood or its secrets. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
III. Never disobey or refuse to carry out an order from a Dark Brotherhood superior. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
IV. Never steal the possessions of a Dark Brother or Dark Sister. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
V. Never kill a Dark Brother or a Dark Sister. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.

How Mother believes it started....

About Sithis

He is revered by the brotherhood, and is treated more like a god or deity.
but according to the game, Sithis does not fall under the category of a deity, he is neither Dedra or Aedra (sort of like demons or angels) He is apparently older that that, and is sort of like Chaos, or Alpha and Omega. so Sithis is not evil, because he is nothingness. he represents the Void and its emptiness, and invokes change.

IC he views death as a necessity for change, and to remain stagnant would cause the world to become putrid or mundane. In the void he can watch over the departed spirits of the assassinated dead, and his dark children. in the void the spirits can rest in the dark peaceful nothingness.

In the game he is shapeless but is often depicted with images of death, to represent the Void. the void is a place that is believed to be the afterlife by the high elves, (the oldest living race in the game).

She interprets the vices/prayers herd by Sithis. she then tells her Listener the names of the contracts and targets.
She is seen as the Mother of all dark brothers/sisters.
she is to be ultimately respected.

the black hand is the ruling body of the dark brotherhood


Listener (1/1)
The listener's job is to well, listen to mother and distribute the contracts to the speakers.
is like the "thumb" in mothers black hand,
is the highest attainable position in the brotherhood.
position is open(although would be more usefull if we had the nightmother)


Speaker (3/4)
They represent the four other fingers in mothers black hand.
(and probably have the most demanding job)
their job is to distribute the contracts to the assassins. they determine what contract would be best suited for each assassin.
they also serve as recruiters
They will investigate murders, if no suspects were found guilty. and find the murderer and recruit them. they will also receive tips of potential members from the nightmother and will be requested to recruit said individuals.
but they don't do all that work for nothing! each Speaker is assigned a silencer of their choosing. these are kept secret even within the brotherhood.

-Silencer (4/4 one paired with each speaker)
is an assassin for a Speaker, their position is kept secret from the others, only their assigned Speaker and the Nightmother know of their rank. because their rank is secretive, they can hold any position lower than speaker.
Their job is to do the Speaker's bidding, and under the nightmother's approval may be asked to "silence" another brother or sister. this position helps keep the brotherhood "pure" of any traitors or spies within itself.

After passing the test of murderer, the slayers are given the easiest contracts
they eventually work their way to Eliminators

Sithis Padome
He is the eternal dark father of the brotherhood. He believes he is the incarnation of the shapeless Void. Sithis believes the Void is a realm where the dead spirits of the assassinated and the assassins themselves reside after death.

He thinks he has a unique connection with this realm and has convinced his followers that he can speak or communicate with the void. This is where he claims to hear the "prayers" of the ones who desire the Brotherhoods services, and relays the information to the group.

Sithis is a powerful shadow ulun'suti and uses his powers to manipulate the very shadows around him, this is useful when he needs to intimidate someone, or convince him of his supposed divine power.

As for his personality,he is quiet and seemingly emotionless. His responses are fairly ambiguous, although his tone is often interpreted as being angry or upset, when he mostly likely feels indifferent.

He is the head of the dark brotherhood and should be respected and feared, to invoke his wrath is quite painful and deadly. Sithis is revered and treated as a deity among his followers.

Kynreeve
She joined the Brotherhood after she made her first kill in the desert. She had a tough upbringing and learned how to rely on herself and the select few she trusts with her life. She was previously part of the Debbani culture and the thieves guild there. After she murdered a merchant she was approached by an initiate the next night.

When she joined, the Brotherhood was small with very few members. The brother who introduced her to the family left the sanctuary to find the Nightmother. The order was lacking leadership with Sithis and Severa gone, and Kynreeve ended up taking the responsibility out of necessity.

She proved her loyalty and was given the position of Speaker. She is deeply dedicated to the brotherhood and is very open and welcoming to her brothers and sisters. She takes the responsibility of assigning contracts as well as recruiting new potential siblings. (she is the one to go to if you want your soq to be recruited into the dark family)

Stardust Alimon
Her story-
Stardust Alimon joined the brotherhood after her life went darker and darker in the pitch back hole. She used to be a happy and optimistic being, until one time after another - she learned the world was full of liars and cheats. She attempted to fall in love many time, but in the end they all found other mares and abandoned her. She had felt the pain of others hurting her and abuse, and in the end her heart began to darken. She started after that trusting no one, that is until she found this brotherhood with other like herself. Part of her will always hope the world isn't all dark (and have a glimpse of light), but for now until otherwise proven - she sees it as dark and dark alone.

Personality - She has a weird trait of being able to hide who she is, and become who someone wants her too - if need be. The real her is Quiet to those she doesn't trust, and open with those she does. She is kind, and helpful She is welcoming of most, but test their trusts in small ways. She is like a star, shines all the time, but only brightest when she needs too.

Raziel
Raziel is, in a word, disturbing. While he may be all charming smiles in one moment, the next he may be a devious sadist, hell-bent on causing destruction and suffering- all with a twisted and self-satisfied grin. He can turn at the drop of a hat with no warning signs, and it is part of what makes him such a dangerous adversary. Born to the Brotherhood, he takes pride (and great enjoyment) in what he does for a living: taking lives. His origins are a mystery, and though he might garner allies from time to time, he has never made friends. More than likely because he would turn on them without a second thought. His only loyalty is to the Brotherhood... and even that may be questionable at times.

Valkari Svard
Valkari grew up and had a wonderful foalhood she had everything she could ever want. She was an explorer and loved to seek out new things and try them all. One day however she came across a strange mark on a tree and had no idea it meant she was being watched. She was only a foal but a few days later something happened that changed her life and led her to become who she would be. On one of her adventures she came across a dead creature of sorts but who she saw above was even more horrifying. Before she knew it there was a dagger at her heart and a soquili threatening her the poor foal. Not wanting to die she did what the soquili asked of her and unknowingly descended into darkness. Having done a ritual none can ever be redeemed from. The masmked sooquili was killed though having dropped dead and then she saw what looked like a vision. The darkness was wrapping around her and the shadows were moving in. She could never go back to what she was an innocent foal.

These days she thanks that masked soquili whoever they were for bringing her into the darkness. Her story is one she keeps to herself and will weave words and change it as she pleases. She is very cunning and sneaky drawing her victims in before taking care of them and moving to the next. She is very good at acting to part or pretending to be hurt.cold,lost etc. She prefers to take out her prey from the shadows but is willing to do whatever she needs to do in order to get the job done.

Brynne
She is a cave bear. And is a ferocious guardian of the sanctuary. She is also the operator of the secret door. The entrance to the Sanctuary is blocked by a door that only opens from inside. In order to open it, the door will ask the potential brother a question, there is a password, and when answered correctly the door will open. Brynne simply operates this mechanism and asks the questions. If for what ever reason the guest is not a member of the brotherhood, the cave bear has all rights to slaughter and perhaps devour them.
