Erimentha was getting a little frustrated with how many times she had failed to join the pride but she was not shaken from her intended course. She would be the victor of one of these challenges one day. Even if by that time she was old, nearly cripple and blind. Granted, she would most likely lose at that time unless they let her in because she came back without fail after every wound had healed, or in the case of her last fight, not healed. This time she had learned that she needed to be in her prime for fighting and waited until she was absolutely healed from every nick. Her chest now had a scar on it from repeated hits but the rest of her showed no signs of scarring or injury.
"This is it." Erimentha told herself, taking a deep breath in. She was going to fight until she collapsed this time. No matter what, she was getting in today. She told herself that every time but this lioness was not a quitter and now was not the time to start. The sand colored lioness let out a loud roar and issued her challenge to anyone that would listen.

Gunnar hadn't been on patrol in a while, but since the recent changes in the pride he wanted to take some time to himself on the borders to think things over. Besides, patrolling got him away from his wife. It wasn't that he didn't get along with her exactly ... more that he didn't know what to do with her now that he had her. It was like living with a stranger.
