Pfft, they're only preachy athiests because they think they're being anti-conformist by doing so. It's basically the same thing as the emo trend. lol

The bible is flawed in many, many ways, though.

I don't really blame some people for being hostile towards Christians and other religious people. There are quite a few annoying Christians out there (remember biblebot aka ctrl+p_to_print_####?) But in retrospect, they're basically whining and pushing their beleifs on other people to the same extent that those ebilChristies are.

Exactly.

And it is true, the Canon needs a 21st century upgrade. xp Deuteronomy(sp?) and the like are, essentially, obsolete.

Not to mention, a lot of the stuff can be taken as metaphors. I mean, if you look at a bible, the format even looks like poetry. rolleyes

In other news.... >_>;;;

It's like how people aren't a certain religion because they don't know enough about it or feel enough toward it to have faith in it and share a faith with a group of people. People can have entirely different faiths and not bother to be considered a part of a religion or cult or anything. People that say, for example, "I don't know if there is such a thing as fate or anything greater than the world we know. If there is someone above us, then what is it like? Is that where I am to have faith? What if everything is about balance, and things are out of line? Does that work? Is it always in balance until it falls out of existence? I cannot say whether or not I believe in a God or anything of the like until I can learn about it and decide for myself what I believe is truth" would probably be considered Not-strict-atheists, then. More like they don't know, so it goes back to your experiencing thing. I would continue, but there is dinner, so I'm out.
