Large heaps of snow covered the surface of soon to be sprouting grasses underneath, greeted by the wet, cold nose of the gray wolf that stood above. Behind him were a long trail of paw prints, followed by his long foretold past. Not really seeming to know what he should do, he crept forward a bit to stand on the top of a boulder, ready to take a stand in life, surveying the scenery around.
The cold breeze swept through his rather rough winter coat, casting a revival of home to the lone wolf. His deep red eyes fell upon the newly found, but once deserted dens that lay in front of him. This was all that was left of River's pack. River. He shook his head, trying to cast away the memory of the wolf that fallen. He, Kovak, was now the alpha of the pack, whether he liked it or not. Sure, he was still rather young, but he was the only one whom was willing to lead the pack to a new home at such a rough time.
They did not even know much of their surroundings, just that there was an usidia who was willing to help them. The snows above began to fall, placing small, white flakes of snow onto his pelt. He sighed. This was not at all like their old home, but this place would have to do. What would even come to the pack? Were they to disperse? He did not know, and this was what he feared.

Kovak turned his head quickly, startled at the voice addressing him. He did not expect anyone to approach him so quickly, well least not one that he did not recognize. Yes, the wolf was told about others of his species roaming the forest, but one so soon? He was not ready.
He tried to read this wolf's intentions, and with River's guidance, learned not to assume things from others, for you would just look like a fool. Well, how was he to answer this question? Hey, I'm the new alpha of this wood. Beat it. Nah. That was too harsh. He sniffed the air and sighed, relaxing. Good. They were the only two around, so no ambush or anything could possibly occur.
"I'm Kovak. And who are you?" he asked, trying to stay on the safe side. Just say your name and nothing else. That was River's philosophy after all.

The gray wolf decided that it would be much more decent for him to be on the same level as the stranger, so he leaped off the boulder and froze. Sure, he was scared for his life. His paws were trembling and body mildly shaking, but he stood his ground.
Noticing the tension between the two, the teeth of the best in front of him, Kovak's pelt rose, especially those around his neck. Tail high in the air, he tried to show some dominance around this place. He was the new alpha of this land, and he would remove this wolf if he was a threat.
His eyes fell onto the eyes of the one called Zeko, and how they seemed to glow. Well, if that was not creepy enough, chills began running down Kovak's spine. Something was most definitely strange about this one. Maybe it was cursed or something, but he did not like the atmosphere that Zeko seemed to offer him.
"What is your business around this wood?" he asked in a deep manner, placing a paw forth, ready to strike if needed.
