"There is no monolith of stone, no work of silver, no beauty of precious stones as breathtaking as our creation. We are the fire burning in the Heavens; righteous, pure, holy. Before humanity we lived. Ours were the songs to touch the ears of the mortals as they came to life. Ours were the voices to lead them from the dark. We are guides and guardians; the shield and lance of humanity. We fight a never ending war, and where we do not find peace we find fulfillment. Beyond mortality, beyond the small splendor of Earth we remain. We are the Seraph, and from Heaven we defend as our God demands. It is our way.”

--Camiel

The Seraph were created during what the Bible claims to be the Second Day of Creation. Before Adam walked the Earth the Seraph sang in the halls of Heaven. The first of their numbers were the Seven Seraphim: Ankmalias, Rastinith, Lilith, Lucifer, Gabriel, Michael, and Camiel, generals of Heaven and under only their God. For a time they remained unswervingly loyal...until jealousy and avarice took hold and darkened the Heavenly Host.

War came to Heaven. The Host was divided. Followers of Lucifer and Lilith turned on their brethren in pursuit of overthrowing the hand of God. They and their followers were banished from Heaven, their wings tarnished and dim. Those who did not side with the Host or the Fallen were cast out as well, their loyalty had not been steadfast. Thus the Seraph wrought the events that would lead to what they hate most; Nephilim.

“You have awakened a dire enemy, O’ Glorious God. You, who once we loved, have earned the wrath of your children! You who our weak siblings remain in obedience to have cast us out! And that, most honorable one, has wrought your ruin. This Earth shall be ours, your beloved mortals ours, and we will destroy what you created.!Razed will your land be, corrupted and broken your subjects become, and we your Fallen will revel in the havoc! This is our pledge to you, O’ Righteous God. This world will no longer be yours! It shall fall, and forever be for the Grigori!”

--Lucifer

The Grigori made good on their promise. It began with Lilith and Lucifer. The Fallen Generals took from the flock of Humanity lovers. Thus came the mating of the Greater Demons with the human race. The practice brought forth Nephilim: half human, half demonic offspring. The spawn of two Grigori and their lesser kin would become demons, weaker than their once-angel parents, and their half human siblings would become monsters.

These...abominations grew in numbers so great that the Heavenly Host were sent to Earth to purge the globe of the creatures. First came the Flood, destroying man and monster; then came Sodam and Gamorra. Yet still the creatures thrived. They were pestilence, breeding in the shadows. While humanity attempted to survive the combat around them, the forces aligned to ‘Good’ in this world clashed with ’Evil’.

But finally the deciding battle reached its zenith. The Holy Wars of the Crusades, the first of them that is, ended at the gates of Jerusalem. The Fallen Generals Lilith and Lucifer led their armies against the Crusaders--who later became Hunters--the allies of Heaven, and their Seraph counterparts. Lucifer demanded Lilith and he retreat. She refused and the two once-lovers turned on one another. Lucifer was banished to an Etherealm and Lilith bestowed leadership to Azazel. In the apex of the war she fell to a curse--bound forever to a an immortal soul--and the Nephilim were slaughtered. The Heavenly Host returned to their gilded gates and the Grigori fell to a shadowy realm. Left behind were two Seraphs to write the new age of the Crusades and defend against the Nephilim should they ever rise again. Ankmalias and Rastinith continued the hunting of the Nephilim with their mortal forces, and Heaven once again watched from afar.
