From an anagram of citrus + modsat, Danish for "opposite."
Blood colour: [#94A108]
Gender: Male
Symbol: A cut lime, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Personality: So young, and already so mature, although more than once Curtsi has had the word "killjoy" flung his way. Sure, he may be rather sour and sullen at times, but it provides a balance to his more reckless twin. As much as he seems to occasionally disdain her, he's never far from Trusci, always cleaning up her messes because somebody has to do it. And that there is the core of his philosophy! Somebody has to be responsible, and Curtsi is just the troll to get things done.
Quiet and methodical, Curtsi prefers to hang back and blend into the background. Granted, that's a bit hard when he's a twin and telekinetic, but he tries. Preferring to be a spectator in life, Curtsi's biggest passion is photography. He loves capturing images and moments with his camera to remember later, and best of all, he doesn't even need to be part of the scene! No, he's too shy to take part in most things and hates to draw attention to himself, rarely ever using his powers or even speaking to others if he can help it. He figures the best way to learn things is through books, his other hobby.
Curtsi loves learning new things, and reads any and every piece of print he can get his hands on. He is especially interested in the Alternian Army, as his powers set him onto the path of being a helmsman. His abnormally strong sense of duty has already resigned him to the idea, and he is quick to pester his twin about their "responsibility" and "obedience" and "roles" and whatever else Trusci probably never listens to. So he's a bit impressionable and quick to conform, but isn't that ideal?
There's a reason that's the ideal, sure, but Curtsi is more preoccupied with the structure of it more than the actual possible merits of the hemospectrum. Although his hope in the Alternian Army is an earnest optimism for a secure future for himself and his twin, his overall feelings on the caste system are middling. It's just safe to follow along with it, so he does.
Back to his hobbies, born from his fascination with the army's ships, Curtsi also has an interest in pirate ships and enjoys building models of both. He also holds some interest in FLARPing, although he'd never partake in it himself. That's a little too much for such a delicate child, so he settles for more silly adventure stories shelved among his usual factual tomes.
For how serious he seems, Curtsi really is quite sensitive and frankly, a complete crybaby. He's still a kid, after all, and is easily frightened or upset if things don't go his way, his way being peace and quiet. Unfortunately, for who his twin is... that isn't always easy!
Strengths:
+Accepting: A rather agreeable child, Curtsi takes whatever's given to him with minimal complaint. Even if he doesn't like something, he'll keep that to himself, figuring whatever cards he is dealt is for a reason. Preferring to keep his head down and just keep going, he's resilient when things get bad and resourceful enough to work with what's been given to him. It's rare to hear Curtsi whine, although his compliance might sometimes extend to doormat territory.
+Protective: Despite how aloof he may often seem, Curtsi really looks out for others' best interests. He'll speak up when he senses trouble and is very quick to voice his doubts, and although he tends to bitterly stand back and let others' "find out the hard way" when they inevitably ignore his killjoy advice, Curtsi will often get over his fears to step in and help if things get too out of hand. He's not one to ever completely abandon another troll.
+Precocious: Aside from photography, Curtsi's next favorite pastime is reading. He wants to learn all that he can about the world through books, maybe not so much experience, although that just means he'll be prepared for whatever he encounters, right? Always trying to keep informed, once Curtsi encounters something new, his first instinct is to learn all about it. He may even get over his shyness to learn from others!
+Responsible: Almost honest to a fault, Curtsi will always own up to things, good or bad. For the good, even he isn't above a little showing off, and when it comes to the bad, well, the word "snitch" comes to mind as Curtsi isn't one to cover for others, either. He's also obedient when it comes to rules and tasks. Hell, he might even take the initiative himself if he sees something that needs doing.
Flaws:
-Fearful: Yes, Curtsi wants to learn everything to be the most prepared and knowledgeable around, but he'd frankly rather just live vicariously than learn through experience. He's hesitant to ever try new opportunities, afraid of what he doesn't know, and similarly is very distrustful of strangers. He simply can't take risks, as Curtsi's mind immediately goes to everything that can and will go wrong.
-Spiteful: Along with being able to remember all the facts he reads about, Curtsi's mind is just wonderful at retaining memories of every time he's been hurt. It's so easy to hold onto the bad, and that's where the grudges and fears forms. Although Curtsi often, out of courtesy, acts civil enough to others, the truth is he is very spiteful and unlikely to truly forgive anyone. He may not be bold enough to act on his grudges and seek vengeance, but the bitterness is always there.
-Guarded: With his deep-rooted fears, Curtsi keeps himself rather withdrawn, both from experiencing the world he is so keen on learning about and other trolls, refusing to trust others to protect himself. He'd likely never open up to anyone unless they won him over, but who knows what that would take? Truth be told, such a guarded personality lends to a lonely life, but as it is, he seems content with just his photos and books.
-Overbearing: Apparently convinced his way is always right (despite the flaws of his philosophy now plainly laid out), Curtsi can be overbearing when it comes to his cautiousness, the normally quiet child suddenly lecturing like a strict lusus once he realizes he can get away with it with someone he's opened up to or a particularly docile troll. He doesn't take kindly to dissent, throwing around ominous warnings and "I-told-you-sos" when things go sour, though he'll back down quickly if he senses anger on the horizon.
Weapon: Not yet allowed to use real swords, Curtsi makes do with a wooden toy. It might not be lethal, but it can give some nasty splinters! In the future, he would probably use a cutlass just like a real pirate!
Appearance: Check out that amazing art tho!! It was Curtsi's idea to wear a scarf first, Trusci is just a copycat.
Home: Curtsi and his twin sister live with their lusus in a fairly nice suburb on the outskirts of New Hemisect City. He's glad, too, as the cul-de-sac is far less hectic than the bustle of the town, but still provides some nice photo opportunities when he's bold enough to venture around a bit.
Lusus: Tessie, AKA Duckmom, is one part duck, one part camel, all parts absolutely adoring of her children. A two-humped camel with the feet, bill, and tail of a duck, she's really rather awkward-looking, but Curtsi would never be embarrassed to be seen with her!! Curtsi is truly a mama's boy, tending to stick with her, and that's quite alright with Duckmom who is proud of her twins and likes to coddle them. Although it might seem that she gets carried away with her affections, she's not actually too overbearing or oblivious, grounded and realistic when need be. She knows there is tension between her twins, and is already a practiced mediator, startlingly cool when it's time to get serious.
Power: Gifted with telekinesis, Curtsi is able to manipulate objects with his mind. Still young, he can only really work with small and lightweight items, larger and heavier things taking much more effort. He's very well aware of the fact that telekinetic trolls are generally expected to become helmsmen, and is even looking forward to that! Still, he doesn't like to show off his powers, only using them when alone, when absolutely necessary, or frankly sometimes he just slips. As for how they would be used in battle, defensive style A is the way to go!
