Egg Descriptions
The Slender Egg - Blue Kaeth: Aurelian (Thaliawen) - Unusually long and resting on it's side as thought to fully display this attribute this eggs shell is wonderfully smooth, lacking even the tiny blemishes typically found on eggs. A pale turquoise in color it's an eye catcher even among it's larger brethren. Laying hands on this egg will evoke a sense of cunning and self confidence. You get the feeling that any ill thoughts towards this egg will be less then well received.

Knockabout Egg - Bronze Laeonaith: Eiran (Faewynd) – Lime Green egg. This egg is one of the largest in the clutch (not that that's saying much). It's also rather active so far as eggs go, and has whacked into all of its neighbors at one point or another. And it is very happy to see you! You're so much more interesting than anything going on in here. ..Ohh, wait, who's that there?

Each of the thieves’ groups fled in different directions, keeping to
mundane and less obvious modes of transport to throw the Trine Dragonmen
off their trail. No flashy dragons, no bloodbathed Holds, just the simple
transports of good between places. There were strict orders not to return
immediately to the Wherholds so as to minimize suspicion on them – action
could not be taken where there was no evidence.

Those orders, of course, meant something else to Ja’kki, S’lar and Merrell,
who fled even further south and deep into the mountains. Theirs was the
biggest egg and the most important to shield from recovery. Still, their
escape required flight and their greens provided the means as they flew
across jungle and river, passing by a logging camp.

“Hidden at the foot of the mountains deep in the jungle near where the trees
grow thick is a cave. Many many years ago it was used as a safe haven by
deep jungle traders, but as thread came and went it was forgotten except by
a rogue holdless here or there who had stumbled upon it and taken shelter
there. Few know of it's location and fewer still could find it again with the
mouth half concealed by a massive boulder and shadows. The Mouth of the
cave perhaps at one time had been huge, able to allow in 6 bronzes breast
to breast with little trouble. With time however part of the mountain side has
given way narrowing down the entrance to a small jagged hole just big
enough for a bronze dragon to crawl into. While the entrance may have been
narrowed the inside of the cave has been left intact leaving it's huge sandy
bottomed main cavern untouched though the few smaller caverns breaching
off from it show some wear from a small fresh water spring that's begun
burbling up in one of them. “

Their passage, however, carried them past logging camps and watchdragon
towers, leaving a trail the searching Trine riders could follow. So close to
the time when the eggs would hatch, Riders were dispatched with
Candidates so that they would not be lost Between. The search was
frantic and hard, hindered by the inexperienced Candidates and the fear of a
clutch ruined by subterfuge.

The chill of the mountains and the cave with its fallen down mouth proved the
hardest to find, only the flash of a green’s wing alerting them to activity in
the area. A short search revealed the cave and its massive interior.

Instructions
The Revolutionaries are still here when the Resistance arrives. Feel free to
RP the initial contact. There are no combat mechanics and the eggs are
HIDDEN in a place that cannot be accessed by any dragons. Please defer
to staff moderation if it is needed.

**If your character is in this list but not an IC Candidate, they need to be in
the area with the group. They could have spotted the thieves flying and
become a guide, been out hunting/gathering, visiting the location, etc. It is
up to you how your character got there as long as it is within reason**

Hekate and Devith may have had the reputation of troublemakers, but there weren't many who knew Trine's jungles as well as she. Fewer still that knew it's hidey holes. As they drew closer and closer to Sanctuary cave Hekate felt her breath catch in her throat. How long had it been?

Six? Maybe seven years since she'd come to this place? A soaked frightened bedraggled little girl scooped up in her father's arms on the back of a terrified rider beast. They'd been caught out in a thunderstorm when they'd stumbled upon this place and holed up amid the warm dry sand waiting for it to pass. That night as her father told her stories and tried to comfort her against the booming thunder and flashes of light that cast the outside world in stark and terrifying black and white was amid some of her fonder memories. They'd huddled around their small fire keeping each other safe. Now these thieves. . .these killers were tarnishing that sacred place of safety!

Beneath her she felt the rumbling snarl of a growl ripple through her dragon's chest like a peal of thunder as his dark eye's flashed red where the two huddled low in the underbrush. This was their territory! These outsiders had no right here! But if they wanted to take the fight to the jungle then shard it Devith and Hekate would be more then happy to comply to their terms.

Glancing over at the leaders of the group Hekate whispered low. "I know this place. There's only one entrance in and one entrance out. Unless we tried to make a new one by digging~" Hekate paused her eyes seeming to light up as an idea came to her.

You have a plan Mine? Devith questioned low in his rider's mind his words colored with his anger, but curiosity quelled the flames.

Perhaps. We'll have to see what the other's think.
She answered gently stroking his neck.

~ They are coming. Merrellmine, they are nearly here! ~ The anxious voice of her dragon echoed in Merrell's head, causing her to glance at her companions with a raised eyebrow. The dynamic redhead had known that the others would, eventually, catch their trail. But she had hoped that by the time they did arrive she and Ja'kki and S'lar would be long gone, disappeared into the cloak of darkness on the backs of their swift greens, the eggs safely with them.

Do we have time to leave? Merrell asked, biting her lower lip. They weren't supposed to go back to the Wherholds yet, but she thought that perhaps, given the circumstances...

~ No. They come to close. But we shall have some fun with them Mine! They will not take our eggs without a fight! ~

Merrell glanced at her companions, shrugging her narrow shoulders. "Amaranth says that the pursuit is too close for us to make a run for it. What shall we do?"

There was hardly enough time for an answer, the sounds of a group of people could be heard faintly outside the cave. Quickly, Merrell quenched her torch and plunged the cave into darkness.

N'ymi brought the teen called Kharmeen with her. Daroth was furious that anyone would take their eggs and hurt their young ones. Rumbling angrily, they came to the caves and waited for the others of their Search group. The jungles grew thick here and the caves were numerous. "Dar', le' the others know we're comin' in and not to be worried. I got 'nother wi' us as well."

Daroth had grumbled about bringing the boy who was closer to a man but orders were orders. Devith. It is I Daroth with my rider N'ymi and her passenger a candidate. Is there space for us to land?

Devith craned his neck spotting Daroth circling up in the sky as he glanced over at his rider. Mine others are in the air what shall I tell them? He questioned as Hekate too glanced up.

Tell them to either land a little ways back where the jungle clears and follow our trail or if they're willing to risk they can land close to the mountain where the trees come away, but to not get to close to the mouth or the rebels inside might take a swipe at them.
Hekate ordered keeping a wary watch on the entrance. if they did land and were attacked she'd be ready for a fight.

Mine says to either land back where it's clear and follow our trail or land close to the cave where it's clear, but away from the mouth so you cannot be attacked easily.
Devith replied passing on his rider's message as he too turned his attention back to the cave every muscle in his body taunt and ready to spring. His wings were sore from the work of flying, but one slip up here could cost them the eggs. He'd already failed his rider once with the traitor blue. He would not fail her again.

Ja'kki grinned. A wide, white toothed grin that glittered with feral glee at Merrell's announcement. "I think you know what we'll do." Ja'kki welcomed another fight. Another chance to exact revenge for their fallen comrades. Too bad Kr'stof was not here. It felt even stranger to be just the three of them. But they weren't just riders. They were The Malvren Bolts. Even three of them would be more than enough to scare off those wherries.

Emerath danced with agitation back in the cave, staying clear of the entrance. ~ We could still escape, we can take the eggs back to Benden. The Handler would understand. We are the best, most agile dragons he's got. None can trap us! ~

"I'm not running. They want a fight they can come get it."

Daroth relayed the message to his N'ymi. The blue pumped his wings and flew over the area. He was fairly average for a blue and he didn't think he could make it close to the mountain. We will land further back and come up.

The blue back winged and landed carefully in the clearing. N'ymi slid down and motioned to Kharmeen to come with her. "A'ight. You do as yer tol' or Dar' will keep ya here. Don't get in teh way."
``````````````````
Kharmeen was a mix of fury and excitement. How dare those traitors come in and steal the eggs so close to hatching? What if they got hurt or went Between because they couldn't find their rider? Nodding, he stayed two steps behind N'ymi as they made their way to the clearing. He would not blow this and he would be useful to the riders.
Ameranth danced like an excited, or perhaps nervous, puppy on the sandy ground of the cave. ~ We are the best, but they are so close. We must fight! ~ Ameranth said to Emerath, trying to soothe her sister, though her own eagerness somewhat spoiled the attempt at sympathy.
"I'm not running either." Merrell said, grinning back at Ja'kki. "Especially since we're in a good position. They can only come in one dragon at a time. And they'll never find the eggs." Her fingers brushed over the knife she carried in her belt, the knife that had slain her father. It was a distinct possibility the knife would be tasting blood again tonight.
Meroc was not terribly happy about this whole thing. He'd been brought in with the other candidates on the off chance the eggs might hatch and to say the least he wasn't pleased about trecking through the jungle to get to the cave. Not pleased in the least specially since his hat kept getting snagged on the branches as he walked following the trail some silver dragon had stomped out for them.
On his neck Harlot chittered at him not liking this whole thing anymore then her owner did. "Shush my lovely~" Meroc cautioned patting the little crimson on the head. His bronze Havoc was scouting ahead for the two of them in case there was trouble so the three could get out of the way in time. He was a lover and a writer, not a brawler and a fighter as far as Meroc was concerned. Still that didn't mean he wouldn't at least put on a brave face for all the lovely ladies.
S'lar was slightly busier than his companions. Not used to fighting at close range, S'lar's chosen weapon was a spear - not suitable for a black ops mission in other words as it was not concealable. So instead he was now concentrating on lashing a knife to the end of a walking stick he'd picked up on the trail to make a makeshift spear - even that would be better than expecting him to knifefight, which was never one of his great strengths. He added some tree sap (which he'd carried in his bag for closing wounds), and then heated it up to dry it. Done, one spear.
In the back of his head, Araneth was torn between anger and fear. Come home to me mine, I will spirit you away, be safe mine, be safe!
And leave our friends to fight alone?
The dragon quieted, but S'lar sent mental reassurances anyway.
We're in a defensible posistion, I have a spear and the others weapons. We will be fine, my princess.
Kaeyne slid off the dragon he'd hitched a ride on with a soft grunt, rubbing at his neck slowly. He shot Hekate an unreadable look though his tone bordered on nasty disrespect.
"Oh? This exact location? How convenient." His upper lip quirked for the briefest of seconds into a sneer, disappearing as quickly as it came. "Funny that, how you know so well the precise location where the eggs were spirited into. Funny. Or suspicious. Either way."
He shrugged his big shoulders and rubbed his neck one last time before taking hold of a nearby half dead branch the width of his arm. Kaeyne jerked it once, twice, three times before it broke free and headed towards the mouth of the sacve. Going inside seemed a bit suicidal him but dwaddling was stupid and, with that, he stepped inside.
N'ymi shot the mouthy boy a dirty look before moving towards Hekate. They would have to go in with the candidates just in case they started to hatch or needed the extra muscle.
Nodding to the others, she murmured to the silver rider. "Tis best, I think, if we split inta two groups. I didn't brin' any weapons 'cept Dar'. An' I bet none o' us brought glows either. We shuld make sure we got equal strength in both groups."
"Enough!" Kleos cut in sharply, stepping forward before things got out of hand.
"Hekate," she turned to the silver rider, "describe as much as you can of the area, and the inside of the cave if you know it." It did seem horribly convenient that the girl knew this place so well.... She would be watched, and that would have to do for now. "There is not time to dig a new entrance and I would not wish to risk destabilizing the cavern; there are eggs in there, we cannot risk harm coming to them-
"Kaeyne!"
Shards! What had got into these fools? Had they all taken complete leave of their senses?
"I for one brought a glow; stick by me if you have not," she went on with a purse of her lips to N'ymi; she had learned from the mess with the tunnelsnake, an encounter she had only just recovered from. "We go inside," she continued, "be prepared for an ambush. Moriath will remain outside to keep watch; smaller dragons may join us inside, now come!" Drawing her dagger, taking her glow from its pouch and passing it up to Ice who perched on her shoulder Kleos hastened after Kaeyne, silently cursing the complete disregard for the chain of command.
Would things be different if she was a man with a bronze dragon? Would these people defer to her more easily? There was no way for her to know that, and no time to dwell on it in any case.
Ja'kki had her knife.. and she had her hands. She had never developed a specific fighting style but that hadn't stopped her from adding a number of glittering claws to the belt she'd commissioned. If she was lucky,... and she liked to think herself that, she'd get to add some more before the evening was over.
She crept along the cave wall towards the entrance. From the light remaining outside she could see people and dragons moving. "Or one person at a time..." She felt the bristle of alarm from Emerath as one loud voice rose above the others, and a shape stepped into the wide cave mouth.
Her little knife was in her hand in an instant and the moment the stranger entered the shadowy cave interior she lunged at him. If her friends wanted a piece they'd better just move quick!
Kaeyne paused at his name piercing the air, branch held casually in one hand. He half turned to look at Kleos from the shadows of the cave mouth, half-hidden in the darkness.
"Yes?" He asked. And then noise, feet scraping on stone. Kaeyne dropped to his knees - being short helped - and swung up with that half dead branch. Thick as his muscular arm and just as long, he used it as a baseball bat aimed right towards that noise coming at him.
