Egg Descriptions
The Busy Body Egg - Brown Belith: Muburine (magnadereal) – Banded pink egg. This rather large egg has nestled itself cozily into the center of Hyweth's clutch. It is incredibly welcoming to those who touch it, almost overwhelmingly so. How are you? Do you want to talk? Oh you have to go? Well could you tell the Do Not Disturb Egg that that kind of behavior is really just uncalled for?

Still Thinking Egg - Green Aukoith: Soral (Riffler) - Fading tristripe egg. Hm. Hm? Oh. Yes, hello. This dragon seems to ruminating on something-- possibly you or the Candidate before you! There is a steady throb to this egg, almost like a heartbeat, and although the dragon inside seems friendly it's clear that it is too distracted with its own thoughts to pay you much mind right now.

Each of the thieves’ groups fled in different directions, keeping to mundane
and less obvious modes of transport to throw the Trine Dragonmen off their
trail. No flashy dragons, no bloodbathed Holds, just the simple transports of
good between places. There were strict orders not to return immediately to
the Wherholds so as to minimize suspicion on them – action could not be
taken where there was no evidence.

For Rilli, Ralla, and Erie, those orders meant they fled south east for the day
and when they were safely in the jungle, Green Firith provided quick transport
to an isolated Mountain Hotsprings. Misty and surreal, it provided the
perfect cover with the bubbling pools and the hidden grottos. The eggs were
kept warm while they waited for the recall order.

“High in the mountains where Trine's warm air begins to grow chill in a small
valley lay Cloud Springs. Cloud Springs are a number of small hot spring fed
lakes surrounded by rich grass and half hidden by the steam that's often
mistaken for low hanging clouds except on the clearest days. The sand and
mud here is rich in minerals casting the water in a bright blue hue. It's not
uncommon to find wild firelizards bathing here or a clutch or two hidden in
the warm sand around the lakes. “

Their passage, however, carried them past logging camps and watchdragon
towers, leaving a trail the searching Trine riders could follow. So close to
the time when the eggs would hatch, Riders were dispatched with
Candidates so that they would not be lost Between. The search was
frantic and hard, hindered by the inexperienced Candidates and the fear of a
clutch ruined by subterfuge.

At last, a lucky stroke revealed the Cloud Springs, one of a few places suitable to keep an egg.

Instructions
The Revolutionaries are still here when the Resistance arrives. Feel free to
RP the initial contact. There are no combat mechanics and the eggs are
HIDDEN in a place that cannot be accessed by any dragons. Please defer
to staff moderation if it is needed.

**If your character is in this list but not an IC Candidate, they need to be in
the area with the group. They could have spotted the thieves flying and
become a guide, been out hunting/gathering, visiting the location, etc. It is
up to you how your character got there as long as it is within reason**

Hatteth had been eager to get out and hunt as soon as he'd gotten the news that eggs had been stolen. He was doubly eager when he'd heard two of Hyweth'd had been taken. How dare anyone touch his weyrmate's eggs! It was all J'nes could do to hold the brown back until the search had been organized and some Candidates were hastily bundled onto the dragon's back. Then they were off, following the trail that seemed most likely to have been left by the thieves who targeted Hyweth's clutch.

When they'd narrowed down the search to Cloud Springs, J'nes was somewhat relieved that the eggs seemed to be kept in a place where they would be sure to be warm. He'd been fairly certain that the eggs would be kept safe, since if they'd stolen eggs instead of smashing them, they must have wanted them intact and alive. But knowing they they were at least warm gave him some hope.

There was only so much searching that could be done from the air, so J'nes directed his dragon to land and drop off their passengers. It was not the best landing the brown had ever made, since he was in a hurry to get moving and landed with a hard thump. Get off and get looking, he told the Candidates tersely.

(OOC: Any Candidates who want can be the ones riding on Hatteth.)

Rilli was enjoying herself immensely. Not that she liked being away from Risk, the posessive wher probably wouldn't forgive her for a long time. The Springs though! It was warm and beautiful and what a place! "By the first egg we need one'na these at Malvren!" She hiked up her skirt and sat near the edge of one of the pools, dipping her bare feet into the mineral rich water.

Wrapped so thoroughly in her own enjoyment, Rilli had no idea that the search parties had drawn so near. "Erie! Come 'an try this! It's shaffin' amazin'!"

Thrarothar

This was exciting! They were being sent to hunt down the stolen eggs. Of course candidates had to go along since they were close to hatching. What made this all better was he got to ride a gold. Point for him; Muburine was riding brown. The short lad tried not to snicker at that. They were in the same group so clearly his rival would witness his triumphant discovery of the missing eggs.

Only one point marred his gloating. He had been assigned to the crimson’s eggs. Of all the groups he had to be assigned to that one. True he wouldn’t have rode the gold otherwise. He would just have to make the best of a bad situation. Thrarothar patiently waited for the gold to land and drop them off. Now if he were eggs, where would he be hiding? Somewhere warm. He glanced around the place. Hot springs tended to be warm all over. Ok that wasn’t much help.

Muburine

Muburine clutched to the person in front of him. As the brown landed roughly and ordered them down. The candidate quickly slid off and offered a hand to assist any others who needed it. He couldn’t figure out how he had managed to get assigned to the same group as Thrarothar. Of all the rotten luck. He just wanted to find the eggs and get home. Somehow the older boy would make a competition out of all of this, he probably already had. He stifled a sigh and tried to avoid eye contact.

“Any ideas where we should look?” Hopefully someone would suggest some place that made sense.

Hot springs. They were at shaffing a hot springs. Not that Ralla was complaining about the location, it was just...they were on an important mission, which was supposed to Serious and Important, and the setting didn't exactly fit. And, unfortunately, Ralla didn't exactly fit the setting, either, being all business and seriousness herself. Worst of all, though, was the sharding waiting. The sooner they got back to Malvren - or to Benden, whichever - the happier she would be. Still, at least Firith was here now. The green had gotten them to this idyllic locale once they had been far enough from the Weyr for her to safely appear, and had stuck around since, which made her a far sight better off than the handlers, who remained without their partners.

Not far from where Rilli was testing the waters, Ralla sat with her back against a tree and half-watched, the rest of her attention on their surroundings. The Resistance was far from the only thing she had on her mind: there were felines around here. Not something they particularly needed to encounter.

Mine.

What is it, Firith?

Dragons. There are dragons not just in the air, but landing. Searchers, they must be.

"Shaffit," she swore under her breath, rising to her feet. How close?

Close enough to be concerned. Also, there is a gold.

"Rilli, Erie! Not to interrupt, but Firith thinks we might have company soon. They're flying closer than before, gold included, and starting to land. We either need to get ready for a fight or get out of sight."

Rilli frowned. She supposed maybe... possibly it might be useful to have a rider around. Not only to cut their trip in half, but to act as a lookout. She pulled her feet from the water and searched the low grasses for her shoes. "Master Keller didn't send word that we could return did he?" She thought it was still too soon but if Trine's riders were already closing in on them schedules might have to be rushed a bit.

She leaned awkwardly on one foot while she tugged a shoe onto her other. "We can' let'em get the eggs back. How dimglowed would that be?! If we can' leave I say we fight! Dragon's can' hurt us en'yways." She didn't like the idea of fighting without Risk by her side but at least he was home safe. She liked the idea of failing their mission even less.

While Hatteth waited impatiently for the Candidates to disembark, J'nes answered Muburine's question. "The eggs will probably not be in plain sight, especially since they're likely to expect dragons who can search from the air, so we'll have to look for places where they could be hidden. I doubt they'd be in the pools, that would be rather hot for even an egg, and if the water's clear it'd be easy enough to look in them. So look for anything that can provide shelter; a building or vehicle, of course, but also vegetation that's close enough together, a cave or overhang, even piles of leaves and sticks. Look for anything unnatural that might give hints, like any plants that look recently broken by something moving through, or dirt that looks newly moved."

In truth they were only guesses, and he had no idea if they were anywhere near correct. But it was a place to start, and more use than milling around in confusion or wandering every which way with no direction. He knew he should probably be deferring to the gold and her rider for instructions. On the other hand, Hatteth was angry and driven and wanted to hunt, and the desire to get going was bleeding into his rider. He would still follow orders if given, of course, but he did not have time to wait and see if someone else would speak first.

A'in and Troiseth were arriving back late, when they spotted something moving. Do you see that? Tell the Weyr and return in case they want more It was short and simple, but that worked best for the duo. They glided back, arriving as the commotion seemed to heat up. "What can we do to help?" A'in started looking around as he dropped to the ground from the blue.

Mine! The Eggs stolen from Sunnath and the crimson. The blue's head turned, eyes glowing red. A bellow was on its way out, but A'in was scrammbling right back up. We fly! That was what they had seen. He followed Hatteth, upset with himself on not knowing this was what he had seen a glimpse of.

(OOC: Candidates can claim to have been riding Troiseth too)

D'lin was still not completely recovered from the incident with the tunnel snake, the rake across his ribs still ached if he hit them the wrong way - something he tended to do on a regular basis. Such was the way with injuries however, get one and suddenly you become a clumsy fool that bashes the wounded spot into things like it was some sort of hobby. Regardless of his wounds however he, unlike Ceta, was out of the infirmary and thusly could do nothing but volunteer to help look when the eggs were stolen.

He marveled at the fact that he wasn't overly surprised that such a thing had been done - perhaps so many atrocities had been performed lately that he was starting to get cynical...why think anything but the worst of the Revolutionaries? They had certainly proven themselves to be just the sort. That of course did not make him any less angrier about it. These people were bartering with lives and that was inexcusable but he had hopes that the eggs were being cared for properly..they must have wanted them, otherwise they would have smashed them on the sands.

'Some are landing' Plexith stated, breaking through D'lins thoughts as they flew through the mists. D'lin sighed slightly, he understood eagerness...they all wanted to find the eggs, but the revolutionaries were vicious and some caution needed to be taken.

'land before they all run off into the mists.' D'lin instructed and his bronze dipped his wings to bring them to a graceful landing near the others. Dismounting while Plexith mantled his wings D'lin quickly made his way towards the riders and candidates. "I understand everyone is eager to look..but we must remember that these people can be dangerous. I don't want anyone running off to search by themselves...it's doubtful that they have left the eggs unguarded and no one will do anyone any good if they get mauled by a wher before they can raise an alarm." He cautioned them.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 13, 2012 9:49 am

J'nes nodded at D'lin's warning. "Good point," he said. He had been so focused on finding the eggs that he overlooked the fact that the thieves would be around, and might have backup.

"Perhaps we should search in smaller groups," he offered. "We'd cover more ground than alone and would have each other for support. At least one rider per group so our dragons can keep in touch and help us keep ourselves coordinated."

Hatteth chaffed at the necessity of stopping to organize. The eggs must be nearby! He wanted to go find them! Must you talk so much? Let us go, he complained to J'nes.

Soon, his rider answered. We can't rush in with no plan.

Sliding off Hatteth, Soral brushed past Muburine on his way to look at some shrubbery. "Warm but not too warm, safe and hidden, covered from a view of the sky." he whispered to himself. He crouched down to look under the bush.

"No, nothing," Ralla said with a scowl. "But if we get caught, they're gonna know it's us, anyway." So why in Faranth's name couldn't they just take the sharding eggs and leave? Ralla may have been confident - overconfident, even - but she wasn't stupid. The dragons couldn't hurt them, but there would be nothing stopping the riders from doing just that, and they didn't know how many of them there were. There was a good chance they'd be outnumbered. She didn't like to back down, but she didn't want to fail this mission, either. "The same goes for Firith, though. She can't hurt them any more than they can hurt us. And if the gold gives her an order..."

Her scowl deepened, and the young rider shook her head. "He should've let us have whers once we got away. This would go a lot better with whers."

Feel like taking on a Queen, Firith?

You know you don't even need to ask, the green replied with a snort. Let her come. Let them all come.

((I love Firith. XD ))

Caught... and separated from Risk further. They couldn't just give up without trying though! Rilli finally got her shoes on and chewed her lip in thought. "Scorch the queen. She en't yers do ya still have t'obey her?" Firith was their only way out as well. If she were commanded to the ground they'd have to risk betweening from there or being captured... neither of which sounded exactly beneficial to their life spans.

Rilli met Ralla's scowl with one of her own. "That's fer sure. Risk woulda tore the snot outta anyone who comes near."

She lowered her voice. "We got one thing goin fer us. The mists. We can tell where they're comin' from but they don't know where we are. If we stay away from the eggs they might find us but they'll never find them. We could pretend we're guarding them!" Her eyes lit up with a little excitement at that.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 13, 2012 12:54 pm

((<3! It's only natural, she says, to love someone as awesome as her.))

"It's sharding stupid, but yeah," Ralla spat unhappily. "Those dimglowed shinies get to tell everyone what to do, whether they want to do it or not. It's disgusting." No one should be able to force anyone to do anything against their will. It was wherryshit.

I will not do what she says, Firith put in, her eyes whirling with hatefully angry colors. My will is stronger than any gold's.

If anyone could, it would be you, Ralla responded lovingly. Biology was biology, though, and odds were that that was one fight Firith wouldn't be able to win.

The rider then nodded in agreement with Rilli and drew the knife she'd brought. "That'll do. If we can at least keep them away from the eggs, it won't be a total loss."

Thrarothar

Haven just about gone and done exactly what the bronze rider said not to do; Thrarothar glowered at him. He didn't need anyone else tagging along behind him! They wanted to find the eggs didn't they? Maybe he could slip off while no one was looking. This was a competition of who could find the eggs first! Thrarothar was positive it would be him. He edged away from the group on the pretext of examining a small bush. Do de do. Nothing to see here.

Muburine

The boy nodded. The rider made sense. It would be foolish of the thieves to leave the eggs out in the open. This really was going to be an egg hunt. He turned to look around. Summarizing in his mind that the theives could have hid the eggs in something already unnatural to hide them. Which meant everything not natural had to be inspected as well. This was a chore.

The riders talked of making groups. Well if they wanted to. He'd feel better if they'd know if another group found the eggs. Just then another candidate came off the dragon and brushed past. Muburine gave Soral a long look as he wandered off right away. Oh great, another like Thrarothar. Perhaps they'd do him a favor and be on the same team away from him.
