Today was the day - her first day in the woods without a guardian. It was an auspicious occasion. After all, she had passed all the defensive training tests, had had her coming of age ceremony... And today, a week after all that had passed, she was allowed to enter the woods on her own.

The thing was, Ithillún couldn't decide what to do first. She wasn't in a hurry - she had every day for the rest of her life to explore. And so, allowing her feet to carry her forth on their own terms, Lún set out. She had expected the forest to respond to her like it had when she was with a guardian, but it didn't. Everything was alive and chirping, rather than suddenly hushed at approaching hoofbeats. It was a strange feeling - like being included in something that she had previously never been given the chance to experience. As she wandered farther into the woods than she had ever been, Lún noticed that it was beginning to get darker. A bit unsure about this turn in events, she knew it was time to go home; she had been gone for a while, and it must be getting darker outside if it was dark in the forest, as well, right?

Time went by and the days seemed to grow dismally the same. Day up and day down, he wandered the land exploring. He had always wanted to settle down where his family had grown but he felt more at home here in the forest.

The birds and the creatures seemed to speak to him like those who needed his help. He liked helping those who needed him but that had been in short supply lately. It was getting darker the more he explored. He would need to set up in a place to settle down for the evening before long. Meanwhile he would enjoy his stroll. His steps fell quietly but not silently as he examined the active wildlife. It never ceased to amaze him how the wildlife seemed to pay no mind to him as he walked among them. Up ahead there was something bigger moving around. He tired to get a closer glimpse by squinting but he couldn't make it out. He decided he would follow the thing till he could get a better look.

Lún was just turning to head home when she heard it; the distinct sound of quiet feet shuffling in the underbrush some distance behind her. Uneasy, she almost turned around to confront whatever large animal it was, fearing one of the purewalkers about which her parents had so frequently warned her - but she knew that if it was one of those, they would be padding silently with their delicate feline (or canine) feet. As fear fluttered high in her throat, she decided to continue as normally as she could; her father had taught her self-defense, hadn't he? Lún had received excellent combative training for this very reason. If one was being followed, one ought to know how to defend oneself, especially in the woods, where no one could hear a scream...

Shuddering slightly at the thought, Lún knew she was being paranoid. The animal behind her was probably a deer - she knew from experience that they often followed trails left by the Cerynei kind, as they were larger and easier to fit through, and they smelled much the same.

When the doe finally reached the edge of the deeper part of the forest and entered Vanaras territory, she turned to face whatever was following her. She expected another Vanara - possibly even one of her sisters playing a trick, or her father, testing her instincts. Waiting, Lún held her breath, trying to give as little away as possible. If she was lucky, the animal would turn onto one of several other deer trails she had passed, making the encounter an entirely innocent coincidence.

Whatever laid ahead he could make out a darker green pelt. Zhea could not figure an animal of the forest that would have such a color. His only thought was that it could be another Soquili, but it was not something he could quite tell because the creature was so far ahead of him.

It wasn't something that he did everyday. He didn't follow innocents but something said that following this creature would lead him somewhere he was meant to be. It pulled his heart deep down, a sense of belonging was something he had begun to search for after he returned to his home and found no one there. Sure he had eventually found his sister not far but there was no place for the lone uncle there.

Whatever was up ahead of him was quiet as they moved. They were either familiar with the forest or were able to move silently through it's twists and turns. Or possibly both was the answer. He seemed to be getting closer because he could see more of the creature. That wasn't all though it seemed that it had turned to face him he could make out a creature of the same size but of a very different color. A lighter green with interesting markings. As he neared even more he was able to make out the discerning characteristics of a Cerynei

Eyeing the white and gray stallion as he came nearer, Ithillun was surprised to see that he was a Cerynei, though it was pleasant surprise. Glad that she wasn't being stalked by something malevolent - at least as appearances went - Lun took a step toward the stallion. Pausing for a moment to think, though, she stopped herself. Though she had yet to learn her lesson about judging a book by its cover, she didn't want to start here. "Hello," she said cryptically, studying him. He bore very little resemblance to any Cerynei she'd met, though she had a feeling about his stripey markings - something struck her about them, almost like they were familiar. "Is there a reason you're following me?" she asked, not accusingly, but mostly to see how he'd react.
