        The sun was just starting to set over the distant waterline, casting a reddish orange glow over the ever lapping waves surrounding Sidekick Academy. You were off minding your own business, doing whatever you normally do during your spare time in the evenings; be that studying, grabbing a bite to eat, hanging out with some friends or running around campus. However, your leisure time was abruptly interrupted as the Academy's warning sirens began blaring to a near deafening level! You had never actually heard the security system go off, although you were well versed in what to do in case of an emergency. While most students immediately retreated to their dorm rooms or began to file into the auditorium like you were always instructed to in case of this sort of situation, you and a few other like-minded individuals headed off in the exact opposite direction. After all, what were heroes, (or heroes in training...) for? Determined to find out what was going on for yourselves without waiting around with everyone else like sheep, you unite and your small group stops momentarily to consider the best course of action. Where do you and your companions decide to head off to next?

        1) Everything looks completely chaotic- it doesn't seem likely to you that anyone knows what's going on. You figure it would be a waste of time to depend on anything other than your own pair of eyes, opting to search around campus for the source of the disturbance yourself. If you could find somewhere high and get to a better vantage point, maybe you could scope out whatever was going on.

        2) It made the most sense to head on over to Sidekick Academy's headquarters and try to see if there was any official explanation there. After all, if anyone knew what was going on, it would be the Founders and the full fledged heroes, right? If you worked quickly, perhaps you could arrive there before any other students, getting a one up on them and potentially impressing your mentors...!

        3) You spot one of the Academy's teachers, Doppelgang, speaking to a group of students in a frenzy. Waving his arms around wildly as he spoke, it seemed like the kids surrounding him were focused intensely on his words. You suggest heading over to see if the shape shifter had any useful information, seeing as he's the only adult anyone can seem to find at the moment.

        Feel free to rp your characters meeting and grouping up however you see fit, but don't forget to make your decision before the next bit is posted!
        The next set of options will be posted on the 14th, roughly around this time. Have your votes in by then~

The masked, black-haired rookie was simply skipping along in the woods, enjoying the outdoors before it was completely blanketed in snow.
"La-la-laaa~" He sang to himself. When the siren went off, Knock-Out flinched and hid behind a tree. Something dangerous was happening. 'Wait a minute!' he thought for a moment, 'This is my chance to shine!!' He cheered in his head as he stepped out from hiding.

K.O. dashed towards the one of the buildings in order to see what was going on around SA. He stopped in the middle of one of the paths and attempted to ask some of the retreating students about what was happening.
"Excuse me, Miss, but I--..." He was ignored and she kept running.
"Hey! Help a brotha out, wha--..." Ignored again by another panicking student. emotion_bigvein
The young man gave up on trying and stood there as he thought to himself. Perhaps he should just do the investigating on his own or ask an instructor. K.O. grinned at this idea. Nobody was gonna team up with a crazy guy anyway.

Nothing about the conditions of the academy grounds screamed, "alert"; well, besides the blaring alarm, at least. The air was clear, the slight n** inconsequential to Aimi. The sky was beginning to touch into shades of yellow and orange as the sun dipped lower and lower on the horizon. There were no fires, no ash or screaming, and no distant sounds of assault. Perhaps her definition of what was dangerous needed tweaking, because something outside of what she considered a risk was certainly cause for the alarm.

//Recalling protocol... ("sa.alarmset=true");
} recall; location.dormitory 1xx
rendezvous; location.auditorium
{

There should have been no pause, yet Aimi did not immediately follow the same procedure as the rookies alongside her, moving from the outer area of the academy towards the dorms and auditorium. What was this ebbing feeling? Was it hesitation? Or perhaps curiosity? The robot's eyebrows furrowed, despite the still neutral expression across her lips. Alarms meant certain troubles for the students around her. Even if it was not immediate danger, it was not in the former weapon's nature to remain idle when so physically able. She had been developed this way to make her own decisions, as uncanny as they often tended to be. Now it seemed was such a time, as Aimi resolved not to act as her programming dictated.

//Set Protocol... ("sa.alarmset=true");
}
EXPUNGED
{
//Resuming... ("sa.alarmset=false")

She'd never altered her own protocol before, and the feeling of liberation was enough to momentarily deafen the still blaring sound of the academy's alarm. The reality, however, hit just as quickly. The sound came rushing back, and what could have been sworn to be the faintest of smiles returned to a blank expression. Oh, wait, if she had just removed one of her own instructions on what to do... then what was she supposed to do? It wasn't like as if coming to a new conclusion was as simple for Aimi as it might be for another. Her life was dictated by lines of code and complex instructions, constantly upgraded so that she could fit to any situation. Yet, there really wasn't any specific instruction on what to do in the scenario where she herself had disregarded her own programming.

In the distance, however, the AI's green eyes caught something; a flicker of movement, apart from the masses of others. It did not flow with the current of bodies towards the dormitory or even the auditorium. Ah, so, it would seem that she was not the only one to have dismissed their instructions. Perhaps in this other she could find some direction, or information as to the cause of these blaring alarms. Without a moment to lose, the robotic blond began forward, sweeping through other rookies, being careful not to bump into them too harshly with the brunt of her body.

((Whoever's next in the order feel free to fill in as you like, etc. If the RP goes too slow for the next movement, then I'd like to say that Aimi chooses Option 2.))

In a library, silence was golden. Phoebe Moon was a lively girl, but she knew how to behave in a library. When the alarms sounded, after jumping up, knocking over her chair, and stubbing her toe on the table, her first act was to glare at those around her, as if they had been responsible for the noise. She righted her chair and pushed it in, then put her hands over her ears. This was painful. Not only was the beautiful silence broken, but it was broken by an annoying sound played at eardrum-shattering levels. It took her several moments to calm down enough to realize that the sound had a purpose, other than disturbing the peace and scaring a few students out of their wits. Not that Phoebe had been scared. Disturbed, yes, confused, and even alarmed, which was probably the point, but not scared. There was nothing to be scared of.

The emergency alarm, as if begging to differ, pulsed louder, making Phoebe put more pressure on her ears to block out the noise. The protocol came back to her in a rush, and she instinctively began to follow the crowd of students as they headed for the auditorium. About halfway there, once the throbbing in her head had died down a bit, she realized what a silly thing that was to do. It was proper, of course, but library rules aside, she had never been one for behaving properly. This sort of situation needed to be examined more thoroughly before she could determine a course of action.

Recon was the obvious solution. Her mission demanded stealth, cunning, and agility, all qualities that Phoebe liked to think she possessed. She pulled her mask out of her pocket and donned it before slipping away from the crush of students and out a fire door, the threat of the alarm going off pretty much neutralized. Every so often she would hide behind a tree or crouch down and check to make sure there were no traps in the ground. Any and all teachers were avoided; Phoebe had a feeling they wouldn't be thrilled by her rulebreaking, and the last thing she wanted was to be sent back to her room with her metaphorical tail between her legs. No, now that she had set out, she was determined to find out exactly what was going on.

((Phoebe chooses Option One!
Edit: Ack it never occurred to me that there might be an order already- if I'm breaking order I'm really really sorry, skip me and I'll post properly next time! sweatdrop ))

(( I don't believe there is a pre-set order, so no worries. Also, if the rp goes too slow, Kale would have chosen Option 1, unless he can be convinced otherwise. ))

OPTION ONE

Make up? Check. Outfit? Check. Hair fluffed perfectly into her lovely cotton candy puff? Check.

She was definitely ready.

A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. Anna was totally ready...

...for her photoshoot! She had been getting herself ready for hours, wanting everything perfect. Her white skin, the light pink tint on her cheeks, her fluffy pink hair... she looked like a doll, and that was absolutely perfect. She was in her room, taking pictures of herself— as a memory, wanting to record how she looked like with her costume on. The camera was on the left, on an automatic timer. She struck a pose, trying her hardest to keep her balance on one foot, even if she wore her skates. As the camera let out a small beep, signaling two seconds left, she widened her eyes as large as she could and... slipped and fell from the stupid alarm that blared just milliseconds later. She shrieked, flailing and falling onto the floor with a large thump.

Damnit. This was the fourth time she fell.

Stupid pose.

Anna got up easily, sliding to check how the picture came out— actually, it wasn't that bad! She still looked fabulous as usual, and her face was in surprise— it looked different, cute, very nice. After taking another picture, but instead with a regular pose, Anna turned toward the window, peeking out to look outside.... what the hell had happened to provoke the alarm sound? All she saw were people rushing into the building. What...? She dropped her phone onto her bed, turning to the door and opening it, surprised from the sudden rush of people squeezing through the halls. She pursed her lips— should she brave this mess to go the main floor to ask what was happening? She huffed, rolling her eyes.

Curiosity killed the cat.

But then again, she could gain some fame from helping out or whatever.

Sneaking a lipstick into her short pants(you never know), Anna tried to smuggle herself into the mess— and succeeded! She slipped though the packed hallway, over to the staircase that brought her to the lower floors... Except that was also filled with people. She groaned, trying to stop herself from tripping before popping the wheels on bottom of her skates off, turning them into flats. She navigated down the stairs easily, taking advantage of every open nook and cranny available to her eyes.

Arriving at the bottom of the stairs, Anna slipped through the rush and stood on a small nearby bench. She pursed her lips— no teachers in sight... huh? Who was that? Oh that was one of the teachers... On the other side of the room. Ugh. She honestly didn't feel like slipping through all the people all the way over there. She frowned— how big of a disaster was this?

It may be better to just scout the area. Go in the direction people are running from... Anna popped her skates back on, fluffing up her hair quickly and skating quickly toward where everyone was hurrying from. After a few seconds of speeding away from the academy, a thought smuggled into her mind— Or, to the roof? Easiest way to assess the situation... Ugh.

Anna groaned, letting herself roll to get a bit slower before twirling around and looking up at the Academy. Yeah, she'd probably be able to see everything from up there. Putting her hands on her temples, she mumbled to herself— "Why didn't I think of that earlier? Am I that irrational?" She huffed and wiped her forehead lightly, her sweat-proof makeup working as well as she expected it to. After reapplying her lipstick, she pushed it back into her waist band and began speeding back toward the school, trying her best to not bump or run into any of the other kids...

Of course, she just had to be that much of a failure.

Anna's skate got caught in a dent on the floor, making her slip straight onto the nearest person. She shrieked—she didn't know who the hell it was, what the hell happened, or what the hell she fell onto... Then after a few seconds Anna realized what she was doing and let go of the person.

"Excuse you— you really need to be more careful," she accused, rolling her eyes and heading to the roof.

((Last day before the next part of this event. Since nobody's online, I don't think anyone would mind if I went ahead and replied.))

Knock-Out had decided to ignore the rest of the students. He could feel the electricity these people were giving off and they all seemed to be heading in the same direction. Then he picked up on something different; a machine was heading towards him? The darkly-dressed lad was almost bent on going off on his own when he sensed this, so, instead, he turned to face this thing.

Oh! It was her. The robot girl (AIMI) was someone he had seen before at this academy, but he didn't know her name. She stood out from the other students for obvious reasons. K.O. folded his arms across his chest and gave a wide grin as she approached him. Surely, someone as smart as her would know how get some needed information.

"Ugh! Finally!" he complained with somehow delighted expression.
"Robo-babe, what's up? Do you have any idea where I could go to see what's going on? I was gonna head up to the roof and take a look for myself, but I'm not sure how that'll work out. I don't wanna get abducted by aliens or something. Haha" He looked amused and chuckled a little at his own joke. Aliens? Pfft.

Elijgah sat silently, well not exactly silent she was doing her usual fidgeting. Also she was Tapping her pencil and tapping her foot as she was trying to focus on learning about past heroes and their techniques and powers. All of a sudden she stopped, she couldn't do this any longer. BRING BING BING BRING!!!! the alarm went as she clasped her hands over her ears. She shut the book as quickly as possible pushing it off the library desk and she took off running. A thought popped into her head 'why did the alarm go off? it never does and we never do fire drills?' she thought. She wandered the halls until she was pushed by several fleeing students. She got up slowly about to follow the students then...

She heard a noise around the corner and knew something was up. with a mischievous grin on her face she tip toed down the hall. Still she did not find anything, she continued her search through the hall and she heard an unfamiliar sound again. She examined her surroundings to see if anyone was near and the hall seemed to be deserted. As she made her way towards the door the noise was clear. So she slowly peered out the door when she saw a weird figure and flung her self onto the wall trying to not be noticed. She peered around and saw a robot and she gasped " we've been breached" she said quickly she jumped out and shot a small burst of electricity out which ended up missing " take this!" she yelled as she closed her eyes. to her surprise there were 2 students (AIMI and KO). "oops sorry i thought you weren't a student, you know with all this commotion" she said with an awkward smile"

        After much scurrying around, you and your small band of gifted youths manage to sneak and climb your way up to get a better view of Sidekick Academy's island. You were high enough to see beyond the reaches of the school grounds, past the sprawling booby trapped path leading up to the school and the jungle forests that ran parallel alongside it. To the west you could even clearly make out one of the two smaller, nameless islands that dotted the Academy's shore. As your eyes focused on the inhibited piece of land, your jaw dropped; there were two vaguely disk shaped aircrafts hovering just above the treetops, and a third was already settled on the beach. They were roughly blimp sized, a light metallic grey and rather alien looking... Confounded and buzzing with excitement from your discovery, you and your team once more have a choice to make and much to discuss.

        1) Clearly, those ships over there aren't friendlies. Why else would the Academy be using it's emergency sirens? It was time to buckle down, 'cause things were about to get real. It seemed obvious enough to you that this was some sort of invasion, and so you should prepare for such. You were heroes in training after all and you weren't about to forget that; it was time to prove yourself! You express your desire to tackle the situation head on by finding one of the intruders yourselves. Whether it's a fight they want or just to talk, you'll be prepared and ready for action!

        2) Well, you don't know for sure one way or another what was going on. Maybe whoever was on those UFOs meant no harm? While the sirens blaring in your ear seem to suggest otherwise, you think it's best to investigate further- from a safe distance, of course. The jungle made great cover, maybe you and your companions could sneak closer (hopefully without being spotted yourselves!) for a better look.

        3) This is all too much... You want to help, but the looming UFOs in the west have you shaken up for one reason or another. There was no way you were going towards them! People like the Founders dealt with stuff like that, not lil' ol' you. So you suggest hanging back by the outskirts of the Academy to keep watch, ensuring that the school grounds and students inside were kept guarded.

        Don't forget to make your decision before the next bit is posted!
        The next set of options will be posted on the 17th, roughly around this time. Have your votes in by then~

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Eventually the five had come together at one point and somehow agreed that the newly formed team would search for the disturbance from the rooftop of a building. In this process, K.O. had also stumbled upon a flashlight, which he decided to clip onto his belt.

The young man was crouched on the edge of the building top, peering through his cupped hands as if they were a pair binoculars. What the heck was that in the distance? After focusing for a bit on the unearthly-looking spacecrafts, he chuckled and looked toward
AIMI. He had a jokingly surprised expression on his face as he said,
"Huh, I guess it was aliens, Amy." K.O. had mispronounced her name for about the third or fourth time by now.

"Maybe they're friendly!" He leaped backward, away from the ledge with a odd chuckle. This dude was out of his mind.

Heading back to the middle of the roof, he thought of a course of action. What should the group do about this issue?

"I think we should come up with a team name now! We've put this off for too long already. So... hang on I've got a list." He reached around his body, mumbling to himself, not quite remembering where he had placed it. Then he slid his fingers into the glove of his suit and whipped out a folded piece of paper. He flicked the paper and allowed it to unfold... all the way to the ground.

"Ooh! My first suggestion-- Team Mindshocker! I mean we're mostly composed of either smart or mentally strange people, and three of us have to do with electricity in some way. What do you guys think?" Knock-Out asked as if this dilemma was serious and he hadn't seen the aliens just seconds ago. Perhaps he just wanted to make their team official? That's still no excuse for getting off track.... The rookie gave an inquisitive grin as his thoughts mysteriously trailed on in his mind. His hand lightly rubbed against his chin before looking back at the others who stood beside him for an answer.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

((I apologize if I'm posting too much. I'm just really into this. Also I'm assuming that our characters have all met by now and have learned each other's hero identities.

Elijgah finally made her way up to the top of the roof and plopped her self down on the edge, still out of breathe. There were a lot of stairs to get up there to her surprise. She then looked out at the island in awe, the jungle the night sky and just being able to see everything captivated her. she quickly got up and started pacing as she soon caught a glimpse of the space crafts. ' so that's whats been the problem, time to n** it in the bud'. she thought as she continued pacing trying to diverge a plan. " team mind shockers how creative, hmmm what about shockwave? i'm not very good at this brainstorming thing" she said as she scratched her head. " by the way what is everyone's powers since i'm not well acquainted with everyone, i have a bad memory" she said with an awkward smile. It was odd for all of them to meet and be the only heroes that she knew of trying to get to the bottom of this, she felt like a little detective. " If you guys think about it we are like secret agents like MI6 or like Sherlock Holmes" she said happily.

Should she and the rest stay her and look for more experienced heroes? should the go take a closer look? or should they take the issue by the horns?. She seemed to like the horns part better. She checked her pocket to find she wad her trusty flashlight with her, because she tends to stay out late. " Ok guys looks like we have some new friends, i say we all check our pockets or what not to see what type of items we have that can be of aid, i have a flash light?" she said trying to twirl it although it did end up falling to the ground, and all she could do was keep that smile on her face.

" so guys, i think we should send AIMI in and one other to go disable their ship or something then we need a distraction group and then one person retrieve an intruder" she said with a semi serious face and weird hand gestures. Coming from a young girl she didn't think they could take this seriously anyway with her faces.

Phoebe did not approve of other people spotting her when she was clearly being sneaky, any more than she approved of loud noises in the library. For the sake of her mission she followed them, her jaw dropping as she saw the ships landing. She wasn't sure what she had been expecting to find, but that wasn't it. It was too big, too fantastical, too exciting. If she had read this in a book she would criticize the author for a lack of realism. Part of her wanted to give this whole endeavor up and go find a quiet place to continue reading.

It wasn't a very big part, though, and the rest of her that was totally psyched for this awesome mission shut it up quickly.

Phoebe turned to survey her apparent team, frowning as the one boy in the group named them. The name itself wasn't terrible, and yes, she was smart, thanks for noticing. "Mentally strange?" was not something she liked to be called, and even if Kale hadn't been referring to her specifically, he lost a few points in her book by using that term. "Hmph. Well, this 'mentally strange' person thinks we should find out more before charging in. Five minutes of research now could be worth five hours of fighting later."

She held her gloved hands out to Elijgah with a smirk. "I prefer to keep my hands free. Never know when I might need to use them." Sometimes it was inconvenient, having an ability that only worked in her hands, but she tried not to dwell. Much. Even when she was surrounded by people (and a robot girl) with much cooler abilities.

((Phoebe chooses Option Two!))

        Perhaps it was because you and your comrades didn't make too much of an effort to conceal yourselves if at all, but it wasn't long before you were having a stare down with a strange-looking alien. Snarling and snapping, the reddish, wild looking thing bent its knobby knees as if to lunge, staring at you and your friends with way too many insect-like eyes. Quick, think fast before it makes a move! What do you do?

        1) You ask your friends if trying to greet the alien was a smart idea. You weren't sure if they could understand English, but body language was key! You wanted to extend some sort of friendly gesture, to show the alien that you meant no harm.

        2) You were heroes. You got this! You confidentially tell your friends that your small group could easily overpower the alien, and that on the count of three they should all charge.

        3) You quickly vote to high tail it out of there. Nope, no way in hell you were taking your chances with that thing! Return to base, return to base!

        4) IF SOMEONE HAS A CHOCOLATE BAR, you hold it out meekly as a peace offering to the alien. You're not sure if they know what the sweet snack is, but you're certain it looks harmless enough!

        5) IF SOMEONE HAS A FLASHLIGHT, you whisper over to your friends that flicking them on and off aimed at the alien might scare them off, since there was no chance in hell you could take that thing. You know not all aliens are stupid, but this one does just keeps hissing ferally and snapping at you...
