Currently Tori was out on the training fields early in the morning were she could get some practice in and maybe do one of the division training fields. But for now the lifer was smacking around a few of the dummies to practice her chain use since she was still weak on its use, tho she had been getting a better over time. One thing that she wanted so much was to seamlessly use her sword and chain together and not mess it up. Taking a small break from hacking and slashing all the dummies as it was nice for practicing new moves but it would even be better to try them out with another person. Tori did take out her phone to see who she could contact for a spar, but then thought against it as her friends could possibly be busy. So Tori unsummoned her weapon as she walked over to one of the fences leaned against it as she looked around the training grounds for someone that was willing to spar with her. Morning after morning, all Eva really did was train. If she had been shown anything during the last few missions, it was that she still had to go a long way to get even remotely as strong as some of her fellow trainees and friends. Many of them worked as hard--if not more so--than she did, and she knew that she would only prove to be a burden if she didn't work to keep up.
It was for that reason that, at her usual hour, the young woman decided to make a trip down to the training fields. Chara was already summoned, the staff rising and falling as Eva carefully tapped it against her shoulders. Well then, what would she be doing today? Practicing sweeps? Thrusts? She would have liked to do both and work on her dodging skills too, but that just didn't seem feasible when she was fighting against immobile targets.
Fortunately, it seemed as if she were not the only one here today. Upon seeing the other girl, Eva's blue eyes immediately lit up, a friendly grin spreading over her lips. Moving forward, she greeted the slightly familiar face with a cheerful wave. "Good morning! Out training too, I'm guessing?"

"Good Morning to you as well," Tori said with a smile on her face as she was trying to remember the other girls name, Tori knew she was a fellow hatchling and then Tori smiled even brighter since now she remembered. "Eva, right?" she asked. "Yep that is correct or at least trying since only hitting dummies can go only so far," Aklin said to his hunter a little huffy. Alright, Lin. I was getting there, just give me a second since I know what you want. Tori answered her weapon as she got a feeling of Aklin smiling so much bigger but said nothing in return. "Well if we are both out for training, um... I was wondering would you want to spar with me?" Tori finally asked a little sheepishly since she was unsure to how Eva would react.

"That's me!" She grinned, giving a little nod of confirmation, "And you're...Tori, is it?" Eva couldn't recall having talked to the other girl very much in the past, but she was definitely a familiar face. They had woken up around the same time, if she wasn't mistaken.
The comment about hitting dummies earned a little laugh from the girl, but it was the request that caught her attention in particular. At once, Eva's eyes lit up. "Ah--I'd love to, actually! Chara and I had come out here intending to whack some dummies, but honestly, nothing beats a good spar." It was completely different fighting with someone who could think and move rather than...well, something that was immobile.
She took a few steps back to stretch, and straightened up after a few moments. "Ready when you are!"

Tori smiled more when she heard that she had been right. "Yep that is correct," Tori said nodding a little while Aklin kept snickering at his hunter for fun and he was getting a little excited about the spar. Chuckling a little at her own comment, but it was still very true. "Very cool and you are right a good spar is always nice. You also learn more as well," she said moving from the fence as she stretched her arms over her head for a second then letting them fall. Tori looked at Eva's weapon since this would be the first time she fought against some one with a staff. She made mental notes about the potential ranges Eva could go but then Tori's own weapon could go different ranges too. Summoning her own weapon as the chain clanked when Tori took a hold of the chain. "Alright, I'm ready and here I come," Tori said as she charged right for Eva sword held high. When close to Eva, Tori slashed downward with her sword and later on she would use her chain. Hp: 50 Damage: 6 Charge: 1/3

Eva attempted to dodge past the strike, but was too slow, gritting her teeth together as she felt the sword cut into her Fear shield right at her shoulder. The impact sent a jolt of numbness through the whole limb, and she forced herself to give it a quick shake in an attempt to get some feeling back into her fingers.
But now she was close enough for a counterattack. Without hesitation, the girl spun on her heel, swinging the blunt end of her staff up and straight into the Fear shield above Tori's stomach.
...
Ouch. Almost immediately after, Eva bit down on her bottom lip and cringed. "Oh, god, uh...are you okay?!"

Tori was totally not expecting that attack to hear as much as it did even if most of the damage was to her Fear shield it was still shocking that the lifer staggered back a little ways off clutching her stomach trying to catch her breath. "Yes I'm alright, you just pack a big punch," Tori answered not going to be taking by surprise again, but then again Eva's weapon was new to her. "Also don't worry, its all good practice," Taking a few deep breaths to help to forget the pain as Tori thought to how she was going to attack again with he sword or use her chain this time around. Again she opted to use her sword again and charge right for Eva. Slashing across Eva's body once close enough. Hp: 39 Damage: 6 Charge: 2/3

Eva smiled, relieved to hear that the other trainee was alright...but she didn't have much time to dwell on this fact as Tori swung her weapon out to counter. Although she should have expected it, the attack caught the girl off guard, and she immediately felt a shock of pain run through her side as the weapon made contact with her shield. Letting out a gasp, she staggered backwards, digging Chara into the ground as support as she tried to steady herself.
Ouch. "Nice attack!" She called out, flashing Tori a smile and a small thumbs up. Her side throbbing, Eva attempted to swing her weapon out at the other girl, but the blade simply grazed past.

"Are you alright?" Tori said since she really didn't want to hurt Eva too much, but felt a little better to see Eva giving her a smile and a small thumbs up. "Thanks but your last attack was much better than mine," Tori called out as she saw her attack grazed past her and Tori jumped back some for a different type of attack since Tori decided she was going to use her chain and ball. Staring to spin her chain around in her hand that it started to make a really soft sound as Tori walked towards Eva. But just as she got at the right distance to Eva, Tori had let go of the chain to which it totally missed hitting her. Hp: 39 Damage: 0 Charge: 2/3

"A-okay!" Eva reassured her, shooting the girl a grin and a wink. Sure, her side ached a little, but she hadn't expected to get through this spar without a number of bruises and aches by the end. She gave a little stretch, only to jump in surprise as Tori's weapon went grazing right past her.
...Egads, that was close. Letting out a little sigh of relief, she straightened up and clutched Chara tightly. Alright, let's see. She needed an opening, somewhere where she could--there!
Perking up, the girl lunged forward and thrust her bladed staff out right for Tori's Fear shield.
HP: 38

"That is good," Tori called back even as her own pains were creeping up on her more as she tried to engore them more. Sighing a little since she missed but then she hit a lot less with her chain and ball it was her weakness in the use of her weapon. Cringing a little as she could feel Eva's bladed end of her staff thrusted into her Fear shield but this time she didn't back off since she could use the closeness to her advantage hopefully. Once more using her chain but this time she didn't start to twirl it at all just flung the ball like one would use a flail right into Eva's Fear shield. Hp: 33 Damage: 5 Charge: 3/3

This was definitely turning into a pretty evenly matched fight, wasn't it? She let out a little chuckle at this thought, even as she found herself stumbling back from Tori's most recent attack. Upon hearing the laugh, her weapon was quick to chastise her.
Eva, focus! This isn't the time to think of other things!
This earned a sigh from the girl, but she nodded in understanding. Right. Focus.

Tori was actually surprised on how well this fight was going and for the fact that she wasn't missing all that much. Since some of her more recent spars she hadn't done too well. To which Aklin was happy about as he also poked his hunter that it was time now. To which Tori didn't pay too much attention to his poking for a charged attack and she missed her chance to use it. Since Tori was too busy studying Eva to what she might do next to counter strike if she could. Hp: 33 Damage: 0 Charge: 0/3 ( Battle Cry y3/ Tainted Fang Y2)

With Chara continuously telling her to focus in her head, Eva found that it was starting to get a little difficult to do just that. Sticking out her bottom lip in a pout, she turned to eye her weapon, lifting her brows at it expectantly. At once, the gorgon fell silent, and there was a long pause before she uttered a sheepish, "I'm sorry".
Chuckling despite herself, Eva shook her head. That's okay. At the very least, you've drilled in the importance that is me focusing right now, so... Taking a few steps forward, she spun her blade forward, aiming for an unguarded spot.

Oh boy was Aklin so not happy with Tori as he was just ripping her a big one and yelling quite loudly in her head. Every time he would metaphorically take a breath Tori tried to say anything but was growled at and so she just keep quiet. So she lapsed in watching Eva even tho Tori knew she was coming but the other girl totally had hit an unguarded spot at her side, winced at the pain as she Fear shield was getting less. Alright Lin. She answered him in a quite voice and backed up some from Eva to gather her wits and for a attack. Charging right for Eva with her sword held low as Tori took a slash at the Eva and pulled her chain closer for a maybe next attack. Hp: 24 Damage: 3 Charge: 1/3 ( Battle Cry y3/ Tainted Fang Y2)
