He was regretting this decision, the decision to take a day off and return to his days in the rogue lands. What he thought was impossible, had happened, he'd actually forgotten just how bad the rogue lands were. They were a terrible place, filled with annoying creatures and worst off he was in pain. He sighed as the dust kicked up around him, he really just wanted to be back home asleep on the beach right now. But he'd come out here for a reason, and he was going to accomplish that.
The only problem was, he didn't know the reason.

Nyota was wandering, thats what she did, she wandered. Everyday. she was glad she was leaving this place soon. sure she made good friends, but to be in a settled place, a place to finally call home, it would be great. She looked around and a wind picked up, kicking the dust into tiny tornados around her.
She sniffed, what was that smell? it was, a male, which she really just hadnt encountered very often or at all. She wandered off toward the faint smell. It seemed out of place, like something about it just didn't belong, but she was sure it was lion, so she just continued onward, seeking out the stranger.

Being the trained professional that he was, he caught the female's scent as soon as she began following his trail. Honestly, he wasn't all too worried by her new route, her scent seemed peaceful enough, feminine obviously, and the scent of very few others on her.
Lifting his head to the wind, he could tell she was close, almost close enough to touch...
:Looking for something specific?" His tone was gruff, which was his typical tone. Though he didn't mean to sound intimidating or rude. He'd long since had his rough heart melted, and even this brief break from the culprit wasn't enough to freeze it over again. Instead he found himself intrigued to meet another person ... something he had no doubt picked up from his mate's tendencies.

she had found the scents location, and sure enough it was a strange looking male, but his voice was something to remember, gruff but...kind. "ermm..no, i was just, well, i think i smelt you and i was lead here..."
Well, this was going well.
she kept standing, in case he decided to attack, she stood her ground, but not in an aggressive way, and then she decided to ask him where he was from. "so, where are you from? obviously not around here..." Definitely not going in the right direction.

Her stance was stiff, it was pretty obvious she was attempting to stand her ground. Though, trying to be the nicer lion, he wouldn't comment on it. But if he was being truthful, it was driving him insane to watch her stand like that.
Trying to pull his attention away from her faulty defensive stance, Voddy rolled his eyes slightly and sat on his rump. It was a slow paced move, as he couldn't move very quickly with his injuries.
"Well you don't waste any time do you?" Looking the female over quizically, he was unsure whether it was a safe bet to tell her exactly where he was from. For now, perhaps it would be best to hold off on that for now.
"How about we start somewhere a little less ... ah .... stalkerish. If I come to feel you aren't malicious, I see no reason I can't share that information.
Does this sound fair to you?"

Gee, what was she thinking about? Obviously this guy was totally different and a little defensive about different things. "but of course! well, whats your name then? Mines Nyota." she smiled lightly and sat down, not wanting to make the odd and just plain weird feeling for her.
She looked around again, obviously in the now somewhat awkward silence of the two lions. But she wouldnt let it get the best of her wits, so she kept silent while she waited for his answer.

"Nyota huh?
Sounds a bit different than what I am accustomed to but its a nice name regardless." Vodnitvar dipped his head in respect to the female and attempted an awkward smile, which actually looked more like a grimace.
"I will share with you the name I am allowed to share, please understand that it isn't your fault that I can't tell you my true name. It is just pride tradition.
I am Straw Dog, its a pleasure to have bumped in you."
Taking a quick look around, the male was now fully certain she was alone in her walk today.
"What is it that brings you out there today all alone?"

"well, im alone...because..." why was she alone? why didnt she at lease have SOMEONE to keep her company? or any mate? it was a hard question to answer, so a simple answer would have to do. "im alone, well, i dont really know hy, to be honest. "straw dog, huh? interesting name indeed...anyways, tradition is tradition, and i will respect that." she bowed her head a little and smiled her little smile at him, being as kind as she could. he looked very uncomfortable 'smiling' though it looked more like something between a smirk, and a grimace.
"what brings you out here? must be pretty far from home, no?" she was pretty curious about that, considering he looked so out of place from other rouges, she almost knew from his look he was from a pride, let alone the scent of many others that wafted in the air around him. she kneaded the ground a little bit, just to move her paws around a bit.

Shrugging his shoulders in a neutral manner, he nodded at Nyota oddly a bit more understanding of her situation than one might think. "Well, I guess there's nothing wrong with that now is there?" A light chuckle managed to escape his lips. Her personality was so familiar, yet he couldn't quite place why it was. "So long as you're comfortable with however you choose to travel, who am I to question it?" Vodnitvar quickly shooed the topic from his mind, trying to find a lighter subject. He hadn't planned on offending the female in any way so he should probably hush soon. "Actually i'm not too far from home. My mate is having a pretty busy day so I thought i'd take some time to myself. I used to roam these lands pretty frequently so what better place for me to do some thinking?" Looking around him, it brought a certain set of memories back to his mind, ones that the lion was not proud of. "But enough about me, you seem flustered, is there something bothering you?"Bloo Starr Yep, I think we need two more posts before we can call it complete C:

Nyota wasn't really sure why she was feeling so...off today, she just shrugged it off and replied "i must just be a little off today, i guess." again she just couldn't put a paw on why she felt this way, but she guessed she was still a little awkward around male lions, seeing as she almost never met any. "what pride are you from exactly?" she was just curious, and it was her usual self, something she had noticed once she started meeting others, it was sometimes a bad trait to have, seeing as some would get offended by the innocent matter of being curious.
she sighed a little. she would be so much more happy once the pride she had word from the birds of kicked up and settled, she would join them, and call it home, for the time she stayed, which she wasn't sure would be forever, but long enough. "and you have a mate, you mentioned, what are they like?" she asked it shyly, trying not to offend him, and she really hoped she hadnt, because she could never be sure if words could make someone walk away.

"Right ... off..."
Vodnitvar simply nodded in understanding wondering whether there was something a little more wrong with the lioness. She didn't seem to be physically different, just emotionally ... off putting. Perhaps his size was scaring her a bit? He felt guilty for a moment, never really having learned how to make himself appear less intimidating ... to him, being feared had always been a good thing.
"I'm from the Kizingo'zaa. We're a strange group of lions, but we're close knit." He shrugged his shoulders slightly, truthfully Fireheart would be able to tell her far more about the pride than he ever could. He'd hardly been there long enough to leave a mark.
"My mate? Oh right, well she's everything I could hope for I guess. Its sort of hard to describe someone like her. She's dedicated to her pride, which a very honorable thing."
Voddy took a deep breath and eyed the female curiously, why was she so interested in him? No one had ever been so curious about his life before ....
"You like to ask a lot of questions don't you?"

It was true, she liked asking questions. "well, its just in my nature to be curios, i guess. I dont think i ever really noticed it until i started meeting others." she chuckled and smiled. she hoped he didnt think she was weird, sure she was a little...different, but it never meant she still wasnt a lion. the dust picked up a little as the wind blew and she sneezed. she laughed a little and plopped her butt on the ground again. "the Kizingo'zaa huh? i here they are gypsy lions." this was a pride she had heard news about, some good some bad. but she decided to keep it out if this conversation. who said he had been a part of anything bad in the pride? "im joining a pride soon, but, its still getting together, as it seems, and i need to actually find them before i join" she thought she may as well tell this, what else was there to tell? the life of a rouge was nothing exciting. all she did was hunt and talk with strangers. how could that really end up as an exciting life?

"Gods bless you." He mumbled at her sneeze, sneaking a quick glance in her direction to be sure she was otherwise alright. Once he was convinced of her good health he returned to paying attention to her, whihc led to him being taken off guard by her next comment. So ... word of their pride was making it across the rogue lands? He took a mental note that he would have to mention this to Fireheart when he returned home. "Yes we have been called that before," Chuckling at his own words he went on, "But don't let everything you hear steer your judgement, we aren't all that bad."Vodnitvar continued listening to the female as she explained her latest living conditions. He was relieved to at least here she had a pride to go to, but a little worried that she couldn't find them. Glancing up into the sky he could see it was beginning to get later, he'd have to be heading back soon. Fireheart would likely be waiting for him, his body felt all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. "Well if you ever need assistance in trying to locate them, you may come and find me. I have quite a few contacts who owe me favors. I would gladly lend one of them to you." Finally his toothy grin managed to slip into the conversation and he smiled. "But for now, i'm afraid I must be going, before the Misses begins to worry about me. It was quite the pleasure to meet you Nyota."Dipping his head in a low deep bow he forced himself to his feet once more and prepared to take his leave.

She was sad to have im leave, but she was happy for he had a mate, and a whole family awaiting his return. "very nice to meet you as well, Straw Dog" she laughed a little at the somewhat amusing name, but it was tradition, so she best not make too much fun. she bent her head low and stood herself up. she looked in to the sky and saw the stars sprinting across the darkening night sky. it was so beautiful to watch. "and thank you for the offer to help me find the pride, i might take you up on it, if i do not find them" she smiled at his smile.
she turned and started to walk back, and looked behind her, smiling once again and she hoped that maybe they would meet again someday...
