It was one of those days that Alvis had snuck out of his house house to go read in the library or learning how. David might have been helping him get stronger, or more like get soar all over, but one thing David wasn't so good at teaching him was how to read. Slowly the young muse was doing it on his own. Starting from the children books and slowly making his way up. Of course he had trouble with some of the words but he would just write them down and use the computer later to find out.
Making a small pile all around him, he was trying his hardest to read a big science fiction novel but was having a lot of trouble. He didn't give up though but he did have a frustrated look on his face. With a big sigh he looked away from the book and closed it. "One day I'll be able to read this and other books too. All while being on a big adventure." He said very confident in himself and put the book aside as he took another book that looked more meant for his age.

Phyl enters the library, carrying a large book called 'The Creation Of Clocks: The Full Biography' She turns it into the checkout and trots through the library, ticking softly to herself as she tries to find something to read. She notices Alvis' book he set down, sitting beside him and looking at it curiously "Huh. I Tock haven't read this one yet. Is Tock it good?"

Alvis instantly jumped with Phyl's sudden talking. He shouldn't have been surprised yet he was, all due to the fact of how into his books he was at the moment. Looking at the girl he got a chill but he shook it off as he noticed that she had an interest in a book he had. "Oh it looks good doesn't it. I still can't quite read it completely but boy and I sure that it's a good read." He picked it up to show her. "From what the librarian told me it has a lot of future themed things and even time travel. How exciting isn't it?!" He wore a happy smile as he looked from the good and back to her.

She starts reading the book, nodding "You can't read it? Are you bad at reading?" She was educated extremely well, so this sort of thing was fairly easy "Do you want me to read it for you?" She looks down at the book, smiling slightly.

Looking a bit embarrassed the young muse nodded. He hadn't really gotten many chances to learn but he was getting there. "It's true and quite embarrassing. You see my guardian only teaches me about getting stronger. No lessons on how to read or write. Have to learn that on my own you see. I am doing quite alright but still not enough. It would be quite grand if you could actually help me in reading that and I might learn even faster. Don't you think?" Alvis smiled at the girl, very pleased that she would even offer him to read it. Oh how he craved to know more about it and its story. He knew it would be exciting. "Hopefully with your help I'll be reading book like that in no time." He gave the girl a wink before going to move some of the books so she could sit next to him.

She raises her eyebrow, walking to a table and grabbing a pen and paper. She sits back down with him, pushing the pen and paper in front of him "Let me Tock see what Tick you can write."

Going over to the table Phyl was at he looked at the paper then the girl. "Sorry if I disappoint you. My writing isn't as good either." Taking the pen and bring the paper closer to him he began to write ever so slowly. The words he wrote were simple but his handwriting was rather nice and neat that anyone could easily read.
Just one sentence had taken him nearly a minute to write but he was proud of it. Of course he was when it looked so neat and clean like he enjoyed things. "Should I write some more or is this ok?" Alvis asked as he looked at her with a pleased smile on his face.

She reads the sentence, nodding contently "This is perfectly fine." Phyl pulls out a chair for him to sit in, sitting in one herself and opening the book he was trying to read. It was obviously well written, but the font was small and hard to see "I'll read this to you then. How far did you get in it?"

Alvis felt instantly proud of himself from the compliment he had gotten. It made him want to try harder to get better. Sitting in the seat Phyl pulled towards him, he looked to the book to try to find where he left off. Flipping some of the pages he finally found where he left off. "Oh right here." He pointed to the second paragraph of the sixth page. "I didn't get too far and I understood only parts of it. I had to use that dictionary over there." He point over to the huge dictionary where he was sitting before. "I didn't like that I had to keep going from one book to the other. It was taking too much time to do that over and over."

Phyl nods, flipping to the beginning "Well, it shouldn't take long for us to get back to the part that you were reading." She looks at the cover of the book, snorting at the irony "The Time Machine...I've been wanting to read this. Just ask me to wait if you want me to explain a word or situation, all right?" She flips to the first page, and begins to read "The Time Traveller (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) was expounding a recondite matter to us. His grey eyes shone and twinkled, and his usually pale face was flushed and animated..."

"I will keep that in mind. Now time for a good read~." Alvis even moved his seat closer as Phyl began to read. HE was truly excited for the adventure they were about to enter even if it dealt with the imagination. Alvis listened closely as she read, getting closer and closer to her without even know that he was doing it. There were already a few words he didn't get but he didn't want to stop Phyl from reading. Plus he could always as he about it later.

Phyl pauses, writing a few of the words down on a piece of paper "these words here are fairly confusing." She points to 'expound' and 'recondite' "Expound Tick means to explain further. Recondite Tick is an adjective, and it expresses Tick something that is unknown Tock or not explained upon. So this sentence Tick is basically saying that this fellow, the time Tock traveler, is explaining to them a matter Tock of which Tick they knew Tock little of previously." After that explanation she continues to read.

"Wow you sure are rather smart. I only hope that I could become just as smart as you. Thank you for the explanation." He stated before Phyl began to read again. Alvis had a feeling him and her would get along pretty fantastic. The thought made him laugh a little before he went to listen to the story.

A few hours pass and Phyl places a bookmark on page 20, nodding contently. Their paper was filled with words and definitions "I Tock think we should Tick stop here for today. Tick do you understand the story Tick so far?" Phyl herself was confused by the wording occasionally, being 7 had its downfalls after all. But they pushed through it and reached a good stopping place.

The whole time Phyl was reading Alvis listened very closely with a big smile the whole time. His mind was going wild with playing out what was happening in the book in his mind so when Phyl stopped his smile vanished. "Darn so soon. Well this way we could meet up to read more. Make it last longer. Good idea. Luckily this time there weren't as made confusing words. I guess it's the way you read it. Maybe we should read books together more. You make it a lot more excited." Placing his arm around her Alvis gave a big smile, bring her a lot closer. "It's like we have this amazing bond over something. Don't you feel it. I sure do and I bet you feel it too."
