Race: Wyrm - A winged reptilian species, closely related to a dragon. Instead of breathing plain fire, they spit venom that is highly flammable once it hits the air. They are large and brutish in nature, and often are lacking in cunning due to their "might means right" culture. They are solitary creatures, left to fend for themselves immediately after birth.
Natural Ability: Venom Spit - Much like a snake, Ancalagon has a gland devoted to venom, which drips down through her hollow fangs. The toxin is easily set aflame by the slightest spark, often with a rasp of her claws together. In its liquid form, it reeks of sulphur and is slow to evaporate. ...Gross.
Personality: Ancalagon was hatched all alone, one of several wyrms in a clutch, not that she'd know. Wyrms were not known to be caring parents, abandoning their scarelings in a sealed cave, filled with enough food and water and
knowledge that would shape their young's early years.
However, it does mean that their kind tend to be solitary, simply because they are continuing the behaviour that that know best. Due to the isolation, Ala tends to be a self-serving wyrm, interested in what's best for her. After all, what has anyone done for her
lately? Ypu, especially? If the answer is nothing, then there's a good chance she might wave you off.
Unlike a lot of dragons, Ancalagon tends to be slow to anger: it takes a lot to get on her bad side, considering she's never had one before. But rest assured, once you've gone into the red with her, there's no wiping the debt from the ledgers.
In general, Ancalagon externally looks down her nose at Halloweeners that get too personally and emotionally invested in-- well. Anything. She finds it pointless to worry about humans, horsemen, or other creatures of Halloween. The latter she's only seen or heard of in books or heard in stories from the small town near her cave. She's pretty sure that they're real, but Ala is sheltered enough to have her doubts.
Due to living alone, Ala isn't the most eloquent speaker, and doesn't like groups of more than two or three people-- going to class is actually uncomfortable...but she'd never admit it. Ssshe ssspeakss like thiss, but after learning that's NOT how most people talk, has grown self conscious about the way she talks-- again, not that she'd ever say it. Sometimes she can contain her drawn out letters, and sometimes she can't; it'll take a lot of practise before she can suppress the need to hiss all her words.
On the whole, Ancalagon is a disconnected ghoul, trapped in the loneliness of a solitary life, a prickly exterior guarding the squishy insides. Her only companions have been minipets. Not that she's fond of them: Ala's entire diet consists of various minipets. Especially cute ones. The wyrm has gone into town a number of times, but no one had ever inquired about her family, since she's always appeared well enough of age.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Having spent all her life alone, Ancalagon is not educated in the finer points of society. It took her seventy-five years to be able to dress herself and talk properly, and all of her learning is self-taught.
After one of her trips into the nearby town, she met an older dragon who was surprised she hadn't attended a school yet. After talking with him in a tavern, Ancalagon decided one thing.
She couldn't stay in that cave of hers forever, could she?
