Unfortunately, Nevada's task with the bracelet didn't seem all that bad to her. Considering that all she and Lex had to do was follow orders, which was a given regardless of bonds....it was a ace in the hole.
What she didn't understand was why Roland took it upon himself, after she TOLD him not to worry, and proceed to go and spar with Lex. As if they were children!

"Nonsense!" Nevada waved her hand as she stopped in front of Roland's door. With expert mist hands, acquired in many trainings with other mist, she picked the lock of his room and breezed in. Of course it was organized, the bed pressed nicely and such. Making herself at home, she pulled back the covers and slipped in.
Just a quick nap before he got back and then she'd really give him a piece of her mind! or something like that.

Roland was wandering back to his room, he needed to grabs a few books he had left behind in his room before returning to the labs, he didn't think anything of it. Lex and himself had fought a day ago and nothing had come of it other then a hint of shame and a few bruises patched up by their weapons.
When he reached his room he went to unlock the door frowning when the handle turned without a key even being put in. Very slowly he pushed his door open poking his head in.
<< Dun nuh.... dun nuh.... DUN NAH! >>
Roland jumped slightly at the sound track Sylvia was adding before slipping into his room proper noting he figure curled up happily in his bed.
"Nevada?"

"Roland...." She answered sleepily from his bed, shifting under the covers to turn over and look at the hunter, "Hello handsome-" Excuse her while she yawns, "I thought you might be back a bit later so I took advantage of your free bed..."
Cue some more rolling, shifting and little feet tapped on the carpet of his room. Pushing herself up, she lanquidly made her way over to Roland and wrapped her arms around him.
"I heard you got in a fight...." Lazy smile, lazy smile...Sharp eyes. "with Lex?"

"And those lock picks you got I see...." He didn't move to the bed, instead letting her have free reign to stay in it or get up, it seemed she chose the other moving to get up and wrap her arms around him.
For a moment everything seemed okay, then she brought it up, the fight with Lex. No matter how she smiled, no matter how she held her arms around him, that look in her eyes made it all seem different, like a rat twined around by a snake lazily eying him debating when to bite.
He couldn't look at those eyes, he turned to look to the side his own eyes half closed. "I... it was stupid... I shouldn't have...."

"Lock picks?" She questioned innocently, "Why Roland, Its only starting to become contempory to have lock picks now." She teased though her mood was indescribable.
When he looked away, she could only sigh. Like, it was like kicking a puppy or something!
You still had to be firm with puppies though. But still...
"Roland, I need you NOT to fight with Lex. As he is my friend and someone that I need to protect. If you had seriously hurt him, I might've had to pay consequeces for it. Or worse..." She tiled his chin up so that he could look at her now. "I don't understand why you didn't believe me when I said everything was alright. It's just a month of me keeping him on his best behavior...Why didn't you believe me?"

"I hear mists love them, all the rage for us..."
He continued to look away though for most of her speech, when she finished he tuned back tilting his head up in her hand to look at her, though his eyes looked everywhere on her face but at her own violet pair.
"I know, we're all friends. I like you both but.... I just..." He bit his lip a bit. He finally met her eyes something becoming a bit more serious in them. "Because when I saw those bracelets I remember what Rep went through, his weapon stripped away and sent on missions still." His own arms hesitantly wrapped around her waist hugging gently. "When I found out.... what it really was, I was angry, I was upset, I saw in the labs the boards where they had the bets. They where betting he would get you killed."
He looked down again arms slipping lose shame written on his face, "I just... reacted, I didn't think, I was angry..." His voice grew quiet, "I'm sorry..."

"Of course we do. We like ALL the things." She murmured.
When he didn't meet her eyes, she started to huff out a breath...and then quieted as he spoke. Gah, what a horrible thing for him to see! Life taking bets on hunters getting killed? Well, in all honesty, they were probably bored and waiting to see rises out of people.
"My weapon isn't stripped away, so you can get that out of your mind." She poked his forehead and then took a firmer grip of his chin. "I need you, to look at me Roland." She gentled her expression, understanding now what drove him to attack their friend.
"I don't want you to be angry or upset, but to trust me, to trust Lex that we'll get through it." She sighed and was a bit baffled, "Your allowed to be angry Roland, don't mistake me for telling you not to be. I don't understand why you were SO angry that you attacked Lex? Beyond the whole Rep thing, We're friends Roland...but we're new friends. Why did it make you so mad?"

"I know but when I found out what the bands did, the real reason you had them I just... I didn't like it I was upset." When she told him to look, he looked brown eyes locking onto violet, sincere and worried written in them and across his face.
"I... I do trust you, and Lex, I just. I over reacted, and it was wrong of me and I know it but I was just mad at him, mad at you, but mostly him for doing something so stupid it would get you dragged into it." He grew quiet at her last question, how to put it in words.
For a moment his eyes broke away from hers before looking back again. "Because of thanks giving... that night I just... I didn't want to lose that. Having you there, the pie the next morning. Nevada I just...I don't want to lose you, and to lose that... whatever it is. I liked it, and I like you. I guess... I know what Rep means about protecting what's his. I don't own you, or have any claim, but that night was... nice. And I want other nights like that, something happy, simple, even among all of the bad things that go on here."

It was funny how looking into someone eyes could warm your blood just a little more. When he finally did look at her, she couldn't claim that her heart raced a little...
and melted a little when he explained. Hugging him tight, she just tsked at him.
"Roland..." She had to be careful not to trip, not to fall or lose her footing. Seriousness wasn't her game nor her forte and what was going on here...was probably leading into serious.
"I can promise that we won't lose what we have, our frienship. Whether it be death or things like that. I can't promise that I'll always be..that thing..." She cleared her throat. "That thing that makes it nice. I'm not always good at that kinda of thing...I'll try my best though. Because your my friend." She pulled back to study him.
"I also cannot guarentee pie because...you know. Island." She tipped her chin a little and sighed at him. "I like you too Roland..." She blushed just a little as if the admittance was embarassing, "But...I don't know. This is a lot more then I originally thought for coming to an Island to hunt boogeymen..." She laughed awkwardly. For Roland those violet eyes just melted him in a different way, a sense of guilt and shame every time he looked into them, how he couldn't say sorry enough for being an idiot and doing what he did.
Suddenly he was tugged in, head resting against her shoulder in a hug as she tsked at him. He listened, both to the slight thump in her heart as it seemed to race for a moment, and then her voice drowning it out in his ear.
"I... you do fine as you are Nevada, you can be that little piece of peace and quiet that I've not had since I got to this island." He chuckled a bit as she mentioned the pie looking up slightly at her again. "I don't think many of us come here expecting to find what we find.... but I like what I have now, and... whatever we wait to see what happens, we'll do it together?"
Finally a small smile broke across his face, a slight glimmer of some kind of hope for something beyond just frustration and sadness. And maybe, just maybe a little bit more then that.

"Then if you want that, That's what I'll do. If you don't mind being a cuddle companion that keeps the peace."
She sighed at him as she stared at him. "Did you apologize to Lex too?"

Roland continued to look up a bit with a sheepish smile across his face replacing the sad one from before, "I don't think I'll mind being a cuddle companion, it's nice to have a warm bed at night since the heating in my room barely works." He paused, "And it might be best to get you a key... so you're not always picking my locks."
It quickly drooped at the corners though as he shook his head, "N-no, not really, he umm kind of beat the s**t out of me almost and umm well, he sorta just tossed me over his shoulder and dropped me off here before waving goodbye... I really should though..."
Way to make the puppy feel sad again Nevada.

Nevada nuzzled his cheek in return before sighing again.
"I see, well..." She smiled, "then I guess he doesn't get a kiss to make it feel better?" She leaned over and brushed her lips on his cheek.
"I have to say, its a little heartwarming to know you went and faced Lex. Even I have trouble managing the urge to spar with him. He's much bigger then I am."

The nuzzle caused some of the frown to fade, replaced with his usual blush. "Er well... no I guess not he seemed okay...!!!" He perked up a bit as her lips brushed his cheeks again.
He continued to look away shuffling slightly, shrugging a bit, "I mean he's taller then me too but I just..." He shrugged, "I've fought Rep and well I guess I'm not AS afraid anymore... and...."
He paused for a long moment looking up at her before standing up on the tip of his toes, hands once around her waist where suddenly on her cheeks as he pressed his lips to hers eyes closed tight and cheeks still burning.
When he pulled away he would look down and to the side as if afraid to see how she would react, "I just... I'd do a lot for you."

"Rep is very scary! I mean, he's strong but theres like a aura of...a wild beast hidden within his demeanor." She kissed his other cheek, flushing only a little.
She felt the shift, her arms slipping from his shoulders to his chest. "Roland?-" Her eyes widened though at the feel of his lips on hers. She liked kissing, she wasn't shy...She had done it many times with Lex before this and...
So why did this feel just a bit different?
It was like a small jolt. but it was brief and it was shy and it confused her. Kisses weren't just that!
"Roland...You don't just kiss a girl like that..." She tsked again and smiled, tipping his chin up. "Close your eyes Hun, I'll show you."
