“Ϣe are the children of Azrael and Rela; creatures of mirth and music, of vibrant dreams and desire. We are a people of magic; beautiful, powerful, dangerous. It is we who walk in the twilit realms between waking and dreaming. We are the glimmer of silver that kiss Night’s indigo canvas just before the dawn. We are the forever caught in the embrace of eternity, she is as sweet as any nectar. But we have long tasted too much, and after time eternity has become the bitterest of elixirs. Another twilight falls and eternity beckons. We are locked in an unending cycle, enchained as the tarnished forever to chase the sun.”

-βrial țhe Șage

The Fey were created by the Grigori who once were Seraphs of harmony and nature. Azrael, a past guard to the gates of Heaven, fell alongside his sister Rela among the armies of Lucifer and Lilith. It was their jealousy of the others’ exploits among humans that brought forth the Fey. Gifted by their parents’ unearthly aspects, the race become one tied to immortality. But they were cursed as were their parents, bound always to the Earth. It is that which makes the Fair Folk seek joy and undulated freedom. That which they can never have will always draw them near. For a time the Fey lived in the realm created by Rela and Azrael as a peaceful folk. Until between Rela and Azrael a feud grew.

The forces of Nature and Harmony were cast at each other. Two distinct races of Fey came to be; the Light fey following Harmony, and the Dark Fey following Nature. The battles, led by Azrael and Rela, continued for several hundred years until eventually, Azrael won. The Light Fey were imprisoned and their magics bound to their darker counterparts. The two Grigori were called back to Lilith’s side as the Crusades began, and so the elven lands were left under the control of the Dark Fey.

A sort of tribal system began, akin to the feudal system humans had began in another world. The Dark Fey spread across the land, rulers taking with them groups of people. The Light Fey were used as slaves, controlled and bound to their masters. On occasion, when matters needed solved, an Enclave could be called by the tribal leaders and a great court was formed. This happened twice in Fey history, until Feranes the Champion and his wife Serawyn of the Tuatha de Dannan came to their realm.

One could not doubt that Feranes and Serawyn were of the Light Fey stalk. The two monarchs from another realm sought out the Enclave and asked to reside among them. Instead they were greeted with a binding spell to attempt and steal away their powers. The result was a charm cast by Serawyn and her husband that shattered not only the spell on them, but the rest of the Light Fey bound by it.

Almost simultaneously an uproar followed. The Enclave sought to destroy the strangers, while in their realm the Light Fey rebelled against their former masters. A full out war started. The Light Fey called out for a leader, and Feranes alongside Serawyn took up arms as their generals. While the two forces once more combated, the mortal world felt the toil as earthquakes and eruptions raced across the globe. Magic flowed freely for the first time in hundreds of years.

In the end, the Light Elves won as Serawyn and Feranes felled the Enclave. The Dark Fey were sent into banishment, and the Light Fey elected their own Enclave, declaring their champions as monarchs over the realm.
